I suppose... but I haven't played long enough to know. My guess is people wanted to be able to trade them as well? Yeah, this should be updated so people who are new to Promies yet won't go thinkin' he/she can't buy/sell them.

I've killed around 50 wanderers in holla so far, trying to get a damn fear but it won't drop. The other two recollections came very easily, when I was with my NPC getting tactics pearl but this one is being a *****.

I've now killed around 150 and have gained 2k exp... this is ridiculous. Is there a reason for this or am I just having horrible luck?

I see there's a little confusion regarding what drops these, so I'll clear it up by posting this on the forums for all three recollections.
All three appear in all promyvions, but they're dropped by different mobs in each promyvion.
In Promyvion-Dem:
Wanderers drop Recollection of Pain
Weepers drop Recollection of Guilt
Seethers drop Recollection of Fear
In Promyvion-Holla:
Wanderers drop Recollection of Fear
Weepers drop Recollection of Pain
Seethers drop Recollection of Guilt
In Promyvion-Mea:
Wanderers drop Recollection of Guilt
Weepers drop Recollection of Fear
Seethers drop Recollection of Pain
This should clear everything up. :)

I can also confirm that this appears to be accurate after having spent quite a lot of time farming recollections. Thanks for posting this! It was very helpful. :)

Hate to Argue, but I was just farming these and Wanders in Dem dropped the Pain ones. Everything droped Pain. My entire party ended up with Hystero.
I solo farmed Wanderers in all 3 (WAR/NIN for 2 & RDM/NIN in 1) and got each anima.
Ill go with the Nixade's post, the frequency of certain animas seems to depend which promivion your in, while waiting for an allaince to show up at promivion dem our party slaughtered a good deal and had all three drop in good quantity, however there where more pain than guilt and more guilt than fear dropping.

Recollections drop off of any mob on any level but it is wisest to farm them from the first level.
All 3 Recollections drop in all 3 Promyvions, but specific ones (can't remember off hand ... I think Holla = Fear, Mea = Guilt and Dem = Pain) are more common in each one.

I've been farming Recollections for the last 2 weeks now, in all Promyvion areas except Vahzl.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I've experience the following:
Recollections drop off ALL mobs, but are limited by the promyvion-level.
Recollection of Fear seemed to drop on all four levels in all promyvions.
Recollection of Pain seemed to drop on level two, three and four
Recollection of Guilt has only dropped twice and both were on level four, but I -think- that they drop on level three as well.
That would at least make sense. If somebody has ever seen pain or guilt drop on level one, think of this post as void.

Been nearly 2 years since original post, but I just dropped Pain on level 1 of Prommyvion Holla from a Weeper twice.
A little noob question: How can i get to those promyvion areas?

While farming Mea, specificaly for recolections and memospheres
We got mass quatities of both Guilt and Fear, but no pain droped, all on first level
so your theory on guilt being higher level is proven false.
I suspect that the frequency of the individual recollections may depend on what promyvion you are in.

I was farming recollections with some friends from my LS and we found a Recollection of Fear in Mea (we had already gotten three in Holla, and two Guilts in Mea). Don't remember what it dropped off of, but it was on the first floor.
These drop off any of the larger Empty in Holla on any level.
If you're gonna copycat your other posts, at least double-check your info.
Recollections can drop from any mob in Promyvion. I got a Recollection off a Easy Prey/Low Evasion Wanderer.

True, but supposedly the bigger mobs have a better drop rate.
