They did and they changed the whole claiming thing it's a lot slower and yes less drop >.<

This isnt too hard to get. I got 3 of them without even trying in one day. The only thing that really got me was that Xablesnow is always camping it (f%@^ing gilsellers) but hes a pushover.
Last night I was thinking that I wanted to get one for my 16BST since I'm leveling it and I thought it would be a nice accessory. I went as a 46BLM/23WHM cuz I forgot to chang my sub to THF. I knew about the spawnrates and everything so I went over there. Got there at about 20:10 (missed the first pop) and there was only one other person camping it, most likely a 40s-50s THF since they had characteristic THF armor. I finally saw it spawn, hit my Stun macro, failed the first time cause I hit it too soon, amazingly the THF didnt move so I managed to get it off again, threw out a Thunder II it died in one hit and lo and behold I got my mantle. A second after I killed it, a SAM/WAR logged on right on the Spook's body and I thought that was pretty funny. I waited for the 3rd pop of the night, the SAM got it because I missed the timing on Stun, oh well. I was talking to my friend over voice chat, and he was saying "Oh I heard the drop rate for that kinda sucks" and not 2 seconds later I got it and laughed at him lol. Anyways just thought I'd share that with you, I think I got pretty lucky on several accounts there.

ive been camping spook for the past couple days and im 3/12 right now (gave 2 mantles away to friends)
but on the shiva server it had bene going for as high as 150k at AH and about 90k-100k at jeuno
definitly easy and quick way to get gil
i owned him when my rdm was lvl 18
so good nm for low lvls

this is an easy way to get money if you are on one of the less crowded servers,its just checking too see how many ppl are camping it that hour, and leave if theres more then 3. suprisingly i get alot of times without any fellow campers on phoenix

does any one know his drop rate if so can you let me know
In my experience hunting Spook, I am about 13/75 all with TH and TH2. So that works itself out to be roughly 1/5 or 1/6 range of a drop rate in my experience.

it's currently selling for 95-100k on Midgard, and that's not even in Jeuno o.O
Phoenix this item is free for the taking it does sell for 100k and one person has gotten smart to it and raised the price but thats about it no one else.

Ok, I've killed the thing 23 and times before i got the drop i currebtley camp Spook on a regular basis it is easy money 110k But there are always at least 5 or 7 people there but if ure good like me you can get it. Heres my secret

On ifrit, it sells for about 80k in sandy, 90k in windy, 100k in Bastok, and between 100k and 115k in Jeuno last time i checked

I got this for the first time, a couple of weeks ago!!
I got fed up of camping Jaggedyeared Jack and the Leaping Lizzy, as the drop rate is poor to say the least (0/48 JJ and 0/16 LL!)
I was told this is a decent drop to get, and easy to camp. I got to Ramperres Tomb, and found the right spot, and stupidly had rng sub, thinking I would need wide scan to find it, but it is right in front of you, as soon as it pops, so you'd be better with war or bst for (charm/provoke)...
I had rdm main, and got the drop on the first attempt!! I thought it was a spawn @ 10pm, 12, and 4am, so got there early just to make sure, and just as well I did, as it popped @ 8PM, and I got the claim!!! /joy
So there is no NEED to have thf, although I understand it would help, and judging by my record on JagJack and the Lizzy, I should really consider levelling thf for camping nm's!! ><
The mantle is down to 60k on Pandemonium, so I'm keeping a hold of it until either the price goes back up, or I start levelling a different job again!
But just to lend a helping hand to those who havent camped this before:
Spawn times: 20:00, 0:00, 04:00...
And easy claim if you're war or bst...
Best camping spot I have found is to the left of the grave, beside the tree!! The spook always pops near here.

on pheonix you can camp this for hours and you wont see any one.this travlers mantle is rare because no one know where it is so i make a good profit off these. 70k Pheonix about 1 drop every 3 spooks so my adverage per an hour is like 20 :)hahahahahahahah so to bad suckers

You're an idiot. Spook only spawns, at most, about 3 times per game night. So there's no way you could get 20 drops per hour. If you get the drop once a "night" you're pretty lucky.
Also, I don't know when you camp him, if you even do, but when I'm camping him, there's usually a few other people there.

I think he was refering to the amount of gil per hour... could be wrong, but I doubt it.
I'm with Celeblin on this one... there is no way that a way of making 1,300,000 (considering tax) an hour wouldn't be tried by everyone else...

I camped Spook last night. I claimed it 12 times and no drop. I guess I should level THF from 12-15 before I try again.
Up to 110k on Fairy, I camp regularly, I claim around 80% of the time. Today I got 2 mantles in the same night, and a 3rd the next night. /logoff.
nvm lol took me 18 spawns to get the pop and got mantle on first drop
someone help me please. I've camped this thing and present for 12 of his spawns but i havent gotten him once. I simply want one mantle for my pld and im on unicorn so if anyone can help me /tell killcom. Or any advice please post.

I never heard about this thing much, I was just passing through to Jugner Forest. Saw a guy there asking him if he wanted to party, killed the first one there and got it ^^. Easiest gil i got.
