once i saw this thing on AH (kujata) i didn't think twise i just went and sold my knite cape thats +3 Eva and 3 DEF and a +3 DRK for 35k and got this baby thats like twise better for 8k >:) awsome price! and way better than the 35k knite cape
I'm currently leveling BST, am I right in thinking that the +3 elemental resists on this will stack with the +3's on my Noble's ribbon, to give +6 vs all elements?
I would go with the Nomad for your Character do to being a Galka Thf it would benefit you more than just getting the 3 extra Def with +1 Wolf (Unless you went with Nomad +1), but this is more your War class equipment. The Def 5 and the + in elementals would not help as much as the Agi and Evasion for you Thf. If you could get your hands on the +1 Nomad also would be twice as good for you so Nomad all the way, Hope that helps you.
I purchased it on the 23rd of July still 10K on Carbuncle in all towns. I use it on my Dragoon and it has seemed to surpass all others I have used, well worth it in this job.
If you look at the description above the picture it states VS (element):3 This means resistance against those type of elemental damage made against you. As for the synthing benefits, I am unsure.
If I'm not mistaken, it's a damage modifier in the sense that any attacks you perform based on that element are increased. A lot of my whm gear has +Light on it, and it wouldn't make sense for a whm to need such a high amount of defense against light, so it must also aid the light-elemental spells that I cast.
Makes sense, anyway...
I'm also guessing that if you have flaming weapons or otherwise, or if you perform an elemental weapon skill, the elemental modifiers may aid that, as well.
They're resists, not damage bonuses. An easy way to check that they're resists is to check your elements (on the equipment menu) and then cast a bar-spell (fire/aero/whatever). It should up it by a goodly margin. This, to me, proves that it's defense. It doesn't, however, prove that it is not attack-oriented as well. But it doesn't really make sense to me that a barfire spell would make your spells do more damage.
I've also heard that a higher stat in a elemental can help when synthing, for instance a high fire stat will help keep you from loseing items when you fail a synth using a fire crystal.
All magic is based on elements, wind = aero etc lightning = lightning spells and so on and so
Noct gear (THF and RNG) is embodied with resistence to dark magic (poison, bio, bind, blind, gravity ect), all these spells would render the thf or rng practically useless so its only right they should have a high resistence to it.
if u have gear that has a +3 resistence to an element, like this item, if a mob casts the spell most of the time u will resist it, +10 = 10% chance of u resisting it, which dont seem high, but its still better than nothing
