ok, when i farm this thing as a 50drg/15thf i keep my wyvern out. people politly ask me to dismiss, and i politly tell them not a chance. they complain that it screws up there auto target. well, being tht im a drg and have no provoke, or magic. i have to resort to using jump to pull which has very limited range. there is no way i am going to be able to get the pull unless it pops right on top of me. especally when im up against a mage with dia or a person with voke. the only way i dismiss the wyvern is if someone offeres to party with me and share the loot.. am i wrong

There is no macro way to select a SPECIFIC mob. Your /target "Name" will never work. Your /ja Provoke "Name" will never work.
Best you can do is /targetnpc.

I do the same thing just for laughs (evil laughs) near the campground for Leaping Lizzy whenever I am in the Basokan neighborhood. I just whip out Carbuncle and run through the area. All i see are about 20 heads following me as I run through. Ah the things we do when we are bored on this game

Yeah, you wouldn't want to interrupt their bot scripts while you're working hard to actually grab this thing manually.
For that matter, to any bored Dragoon who doesn't necessarily need to log out when they're done playing for the evening: please go AFK right there in that tunnel in Ordelle with your wyvern out.
Shame on Squeenix for allowing and damn near encouraging exploits. Since they're too inept, let's find our own ways to defeat bots.

Hah! When it comes to NM camping, it's every man for himself. Sure it's annoying to some people, but who cares? You gotta do whatever you gotta do to give yourself the edge needed to survive. Always be polite, and if they insist that you still send it away, well... there is always /blacklist add ________ that way you wont have to listen to a single thing they have to say in their "I'm better than you" attitude.

Anyone want to (lvl 45+please) come and kill a few hundred Stroper Chymes on the Pandemonium Server? Contact me in-game if you want to.
We can split the money 50/50. on pande it sells for around 500k, so that's 250k each. If we get two, i keep one you keep one.

Also, just to clear up some issues with the price of this ring... In case those of you wondering have no high level crafter friends.
You may say to yourself, hey, this ring is 390,000 whereas Sniper's Ring (better) is only, say, 400,000. And NO, its not because Sniper's Ring has the Dark resist down. Its because when people want to craft this into Sniper's Rings, they aren't looking for Sniper's Rings. They want Sniper's Ring +1. As with any craft, you buy the ingredients, craft aiming for the +1 version, and if you get the regular you sell the product cheap so you can empty out your inventory and try again, even with minimal (or no) profit. Some of the recipes will even cause a monetary LOSS to the crafter unless its a +1 version.
(Some day take a look at the ingredients for, say, Light Staff or Ice Staff and compare to the price of the finished Staff... Then compare to the +1 Staff and you know why people try.)

40blm can i kill this thing? i'm having trouble finding where this is to. the guy posted said fallthrough a hole. where is it at and how do i get to it? thank you for response.
Did the dragoon have his wyvern out? That makes a huge difference because no one else can effectively use /targetnpc. Anyway, to get here you have to drop through a hole, then take a right passage. I'm 0/8 on these things. Anyone know what time is the least crowded? I'm always running into at least 4 or 5 people competing for it.

With a thief with TH2 and a thief with TH1, what would you say the chances are that you get one? Also, how many do you all think you could get an hour if you were to claim it everytime?

It is absolutely ridiculous that this ring could cost 400,000 gil. Look at the stat bonuses! I can understand price being based on rarity, but compared to prices of other things in this game, there's no conceivable reason an Acc.+2, Rng. Acc.+2 ring should sell for 400,000 gil, no matter how rare. Can anyone possibly explain to me how the 400,000 gil price tag on this thing is justified?

There are a lot of rings that have Acc, but most are for Rng's and some jobs that dont need it (It may just be Rng). Then look at how many rings have +Acc to all Jobs? Some jobs like Drks would benefit from it. (Don't give me that bs about dex ring being better, thats for another page, forum blah, ima just saying there good and worth the money. Dam RNGs get all the easy +Acc crap)

Yes these are used to make the sniper's ring. More importantly, this ring can produce sniper's ring +1, which on Siren is approaching 2,000,000 gil at Jeuno AH.

well, i got this after about 15 kills. Up to about 30 now and still only 1 ring.
oh well, camping this and fighting it every 12 minutes and not getting the drop is a hell of a lot better than camping the emperor for 4 hours, not even see him, and if you do, not even get him, and even if you do get him, not getting the drop.
every 12 minutes I have the chance to be 400k richer.

I got the drop last night on my first kill. Talk about luck. Then killed 3 or 4 more with no drop. The ring goes about 290k on my server and Snipper's Ring is about 300k. I already put mine up on AH so I can get the Snipper's Ring. People seems to buy this a lot to craft Snipper's Ring. Althought they are not making much off Snipper's Ring but if they get a Snipper's Ring +1. That is worth 2 million on my server. I was DRK/WAR when I got the drop. No THF sub.

I just finished hunting the chymes w/ a 0/17 drop. (oh well try again later) but me and my partner had the stairs camped and timed and w/ 4 min left till spawn, a chyme spawned right below the drop off, we killed it....(maybe a fluke w/ spawn time) but then 4 min later the timed chyme spawned.... anyone else have this happen to them?
Yeah that happened to me and a friend also. We were doing my RSE there and we were trying to get keys from the Beetles right by the stairs. Well we kill both the Beetles and we watch a team of thiefs kill the Stroper Chyme right above the stairs and run off to the other spawn point. Then maybe 3 or 4 minutes later I watched it spawn right next to me. I not thinking about it get agro'd and run to my RDM friend. We killed it with no drop. But yeah I guess thats just my really long way of saying yes I have seen that happen.
5/180...why do people have so much more luck then me. The average drop rate according to most is 1/40 or 1/50...me im 0/170 for archer ring on these things...yes 0... i should like complain to SE to give me my rightful archer rings... I also happen to be 1/37 on lizzy boots. Anyways archer ring goes for 380k on pandemonium server with same price as sniper ring(most peeps dont like teh negative def or drk aspect considering lots of the later enemies are demons and stuff aka dark element monsters).

How is it viable to kill a NM 170 times? Is it shorter then a 1 hour respawn?

Holding fairly steady around 300k on Odin server. I hunted these for a while, really low drop rate. I'm 5 drops out of 180 kills.
on what lvl floor does this... Chyme thing spawn? and how long does it take to re-spawn? how do i make it spawn?
i dont know what floor it spawns on, but its on 2 places, and hes on 8-10minute spawn, hes NOT a Notorious Monster, just a normal monster, with a great drop

Just remember that Dexterity has additional properties (such as Critical Rate hit percentage) in addition to accuracy.
So, the +2 Acccuracy of the ring raises your melee accuracy by the equivalent to 4 DEX, but it does not raise the other factors that DEX affects.
The +2 Ranged Accuracy of the ring raises your Ranged Accuracy by the equivalent of 4 AGI, but it does not raise the other factors of AGI (such as % Crit hits received, or Evasion)

actually, its ACC from AGI... not DEX, and it is about 1 RNG ACC per 2 AGI
...
2 dex == 1 melee accuracy
2 agi == 1 ranged accuracy
2 dex == 1 melee accuracy

My Japanese linkshell leader checked his sources and told me that the Stroper Chyme spawns at h-5.
Does anyone know its spawn time?
Every 5 minutes at either location, this isn't a boring camp because you fight it often. It's not a NM, just a plain old slime.
EDIT : Actually I timed it yesterday, it's 15 minutes spawn. Time passes a lot quicker then it seems in this game. If you can cover both spawn points it's a 7 minutes affair, but when there's competition I bring my camp team to one of the spot and leave the other one to others.

i was with a DRG60 camping Stroper for two hours and managed to get it 100% of the time...just have to time it right. The ring dropped in about two hours.

They have a 12 minnute spawn time, as the bombs in the same area.

there are 2 locations for chyme to spawn in that cave.
