# Jun 20 2006 at 11:32 PM Rating: Decent
Can only people from Bastok get the MAB+ effect with this?

The recipe info is correct. However, the cap info is not, i'm pretty sure. When I was 62, I made 0/7 of these. Sure, it's possible it was a fluke. Later, when I was 67+1, with Adv. Support, I made 2/5. So i'm going with Mysterytour's assessment that it caps at 40.
interested?

I am a goldsmith on Ragnarok. I'm selling several of these for 450k each (which is a little less than AH). If you want one, give me a /tell (Ephewe).
Really good

This item is top notch BLM gear. It beats any int or mp gear easily. Only problem is it only works in nations under your control, so you always need a backup headpiece for those other locations... A lot of blms still use it at 75.
Don't be stupid...

Go with this AND seer's+1, swap it out when your nation is in the lead, you dont have to be bastokan either, it add's 5MAB, which kicks ***.
Look on the blm forum's for information about dmg caps and MAB.
how is it made

i'm selling 600k (650-700k in AH) i've been using 1 for personal use with my blm and it's great. it noticably ups your damage; especially when doing MBs.

send me a privat message here, or send me a /tell if you see me online. they're in my bazaar, but send me a /t so we can trade and avoid taxes in jeuno -.-

edit: sold both for 600k each. ty to the two who bought them.

Server: Fariy

still have one for sale if interested. dropping price to 550k.

Ok I just checked out these recipes, and in Somepage it says it's a lv 26 synth, and in Mystery Tour it says it's a lv 40 synth. I'm talking about the NQ synth, not the HQ one. So what is it then? Has anybody tried skilling up with this to see what level cap the normal synth has?
Best BLM nuking piece on the head slot (conditional)

I I was testing this out a bit with my blizzard4 spells on the Despot place holder in sky, using aquillo staff (because it has the most +elem skill, giving me the assurance of low resist, as these are only T mobs).... i found myself nuking for about 45 dmg (Non-MB) or so more than my AF1 hat (3 int).... This isn't just a 1 nuke thing... i tried it on the similar mobs multiple times and both the AF1 and circlet will yield consistent output (same dmg with each equipment)....

I keep my AF1 around, simply because sometimes my nation doesn't control the region... I'm thinking about having multiple nations up to at least rank5, but then each time i switch, i'd have to do the ballista quest again :(

wizard's petasos is 4 INT not 3 :p

lol but seriously,

thanks for the report ^_^, i thought about getting one of these myself but i dunno. 1 point of magic attack is roughly the same 1 point of INT but imo is a tad more potent, so magic attack+5 would appear to be better than INT+4 from the af1 or even INT+5 from demon helm. o_O

then again, onry if windurst is in control. plus i'm cheap so i prolly won't even bother :P

Where do you get that 1 MAB is approximately equal to 1 INT? I thorougly tested this item out using Freeze, along with a lot of INT gear and even more MAB gear when I hit 50 (Moldavite & Sorcerer's Ring (w/ low HP, of course)). I was not getting resisted at all and tested all different ways to make sure that damage was consistent (not 1 point difference between casts). Anyway, at 50, 1 INT for me (Tarutaru) equated to approximately 2.5 points of damage while 1 MAB equated to approximately 6.4 points of damage. That is enough proof for me that 1 MAB is significantly better than 1 INT. If INT really does affect resists, which people will argue for hours over, then perhaps the INT will be better, but I am not completely convinced that it does. I had a lot of INT gear at lower levels and VERY rarely got resisted until the mid-40s and I was convinced at the lower levels that it did help. I do not notice much of a difference, if any, at the higher levels from the INT as far as resists go, but I no longer have a chance to really experience it because of the amount of Elemental Magic Skill gear (+33). All in all, I believe that:

MAB > INT (significantly)

And of course...

Elemental Magic Skill > MAB > INT
(Unless it a mob that rarely resists due to its level or weakness to magic. In this case, there isn't really a good reason to waste slots with EMS gear that isn't going to make a difference anyway.)

Some people seem to think that items have super glue in them and once you equip them you can never take them off during short amounts of time.

But sometimes they dont have enough money but TALK LIKE THISS!!!!!11! (or something like that) so it makes it seem like they think that.

Damage Cap
# Dec 08 2004 at 12:11 PM Rating: Decent
How does the Magic Attack Bonus affect your damage cap (if you are in the proper area)? I haven't tested this out on an IT, where reaching the damage cap is less likely, but on a (Too Weak) mob, it didn't seem to affect much. Anyone who has experience with Magic Attack Bonus items in general, please let me know the expected result this (or something like Moldavite's earring) would give on regular and Magic Burst Spells....Thanks for listening to my confused rant.

100k on Bismarck, and we've had Bastok in first for about three of the last five weeks. But isn't it nice for BLMs?

Its the best BLM head piece if you want Max dmg. Ive used it to land a 2116 Thundaga 4 MB to a IT Golem @ 75.
