These are mainly good for a overall dmg upgrade and soloing. Switch to af for jumps. Wars shouldnt really have them unless for some god forsaken reason your tanking.. Anyways, the atk and str are nice when subbing rings and earrings for mana. Parry for.. more parrying. Drgs parry alot ive noticed. Enmity just keeps hate away from our wyverns. And as for jumps giving more hate, it just makes Jump cause more hate and High Jump more hate shed.
Leather skill at least 36

I have made three of these so far, no skills in any craft on the first two synths, but on the third I got a 0.2 in leater (luckliy no failure). My leather was 35.0 at the time so the leather requirement is at least 36.

My brother tried making this with goldsmithing 87+2+3 & leathercraft 31 & smithing 41. He failed but got smithing skillup so smithing requirements are higher then lvl 41.

why the hell would SE charge 25 mil for such an item. basically its there for looks. the body armor is far more useful than this and alteast u can get it for less than 14 mil on my server. that is still quite a lot but still. SE just likes to play with us. frankly if i had 25 mil, id waste it on lv 1 arrows if i had to choose between that and these shoes.

I'd take a look at where the NPC that sells this is from.

Yeah. Tavnazian Safehold. At first none of the NPCs will sell this stuff. Only Holly Clogs (Or some clogs) and a Brass Harness. As you progress in chapters, more items get added in like the Vir/Femina Subligars (8 mil from the NPCs). You would have to progress through the CoP storyline to actually have a shot at seeing them on the list from the NPC and by then you would most likely have the gil for the ingredients to get them crafted.

Talking to the NPCs around the safehold shows that Tavnazia is losing it's glory and that their storerooms are almost empty. With this, it would go along the lines of their gil going down the drain in the region. Thus the pricing of this from the NPC would be reasonable because of two things: (1)It's the armor worn my the Tavnazian Knights and (2)it's Tavnazia's way of trying to earn their riches again.

These are craftable and do save a lot of gil then from the NPC (depending on servers. Currently on Kujata, it's about 2-2.5 mil in costs for the ingredients). This is how things pretty much are at times. Some stuff cost more on AH then from NPC and vice versa.

Another thing with the high pricing on this stuff from NPCs...I'm gonna go with what some others on another forum have mentioned before: It's SE's way of taking gil out of the server economy. Only way this would work is with the Vir/Femina subligars for those that want to try and desynth them into the Cashmere Wool x3 (NQ) or the Shining Cloth (HQ).

first: does anyone know how/if these are crafted?

second:

WRONG, that's nots why this gear has Enmity+, it's for sake of drg/whm solo'ing, the dragoon has a lot better defense than his wyvern does, and keeping hate on him is better than letting the best healer in the game get hit. :P

that's a narrow minded response. "WRONG"? what kind of idiot talks like that?

anyhow the +enmity is nice for keeping hate from your wyvern but the only time you should have trouble with that is when you are solo-skilling up a weapon such as a staff. Any good DRG should have no trouble holding hate from his wyvern with a lance i dont care how many MP rings you have on.
Really the enmity helps for a party situation when you are DRG/WAR.

this person put it very well and did so without sounding like an ***:

Quote:
The enmity is good because it makes it more likely for them to pull hate from the pld to set up sata for the drk.

The price is a joke. They don't expect anyone to buy it (unless someone is really stupid and then they deserve to loose their money on it and they are probably a god damn gil buyer anyways or if inflation gets to be that much people will start buying them from there in which inflation goes down).
sub skills?

What level leathercraft and smithing are needed to synth this? I'm thinking 50+ but i want to read it somewhere before i synth it and fail cuz my sub skills are too low.

Is there a recipe? I'd personally like to know since I will be using these boots at 70 even if I have to stop leveling WAR entirely until I get them. >_>

... what?

Jumps don't add hate to the tank unless they're SATA'd... for whatever reason a DRG would want to do that.

Let me clarify my statement. I have tested this out with another DRG friend. The hate transfer aspect of SATA seems to work with jump. He performed a jump from behind me after activating SATA and I got attacked.
However, in my experiments with SA and jump, and my friends experiences with SATA and jump, we could not document any significant or consistant change in jump damage. That's what I meant by 'can't SATA'.

Jump can be SATA'd or just SA but it has a high chance of a critical hit as is so theres no point in SA jump. Personally i wouldnt SATA jumps, its a waste use it for reg attacks or ws's.

eh, a tanking War could use these too (or any pieces from the set). Specifically this piece has more +enmity than War AF boots, and the Parrying boosts/Auto Regen from this set are always useful for a tank or soloer.
RE: DRG Plate
# Jul 10 2005 at 4:42 PM Rating: Good
I agree.

Having soloed my first 36 levels of DRG, I've got to say that keeping hate against a wyvern is really tough. When you're soloing, you'll usually be wearing MP rings and as a result, the wyvern has better accuracy than you. I put DRG on hold for several months while saving up for my peacock charm so that I'd be hitting my targets often enough to keep my wyvern from dying.

After all, to a Dragon Mage, wyvern = life.

I agree, mostly. However if you're missing that much you may simply be fighting things too big for you. I wear +15 acc at most when solo'ing at level 67, and have zero accuracy issues on anything up to EMs, almost always hitting 4-5 hits on pentathrust.

I do wear MP rings as well. I hate dying just because I couldn't cast dia. -.-
