at 70 Monk/pld you'd be getting autorefresh from sub job, I wonder if it's a viable combo? Likely not, there are other better weapons out there. I'm not sure why SE came up with these, there doesn't seem to be much use for any of the Rune Weapons.
From what i understand:
This rune weapon drains 4mp/tick.
The latent kicks in when it drains mp and the player is in combat. However, the latent also kicks in even if it drains less than the 4. IE. you can activate the latent if you have autorefresh from a V.cloak or a rdm casts refresh on you, or a brd gives you ballad. It doesnt need to drain all 4mp.

Interesting weapons. The latent will actually give you the effect of Counter, albeit, an extremely crappy Counter that will rarely ever kick in. The STR+7 is pretty sexy, but of course the latent is only active as long as you have MP. As an RDM/NIN, this drained 4 mp/tick off me, so even with Refresh I was losing 1 MP every 3 seconds. I am not 100% sure that it's 4 MP drain for all jobs, and could actually vary depending on how much MP you have. These things seem more like Jeuno wear for coolness than finding a decent usage. ^^

these would be fun for soloing if ur MNK/WHM, but i doubt people do that often over 70 :P

Well considering you have no access to your sub job during the maat fight, you would need +mp gear making this a waste of your time. Better off with AF O-hat SH.

i was wondering about these...70mnk i hear you need 4+mp for the latent effect to work...so i put on a hair pin mp+21 and that is what trigger the latent effect i git the +7 str and it was like -refresh took 4mp a tick once my mp was gone the latent effect wore so pretty much these are useless to all mnk unless you sub drk...
must be wierd having a bard wip out a set of claws and slash some mobs face off >.>

Laten effect activated when:
1. you have 4+ MP
2. in battle mode.
Side effect: Drain your MP 4/4sec.
So, if you are a rdm or brd with refresh cloth, you will have Laten effect always on once get into battle.

I am DRK/WAR and the latent effect activated when I went into combat, nothing more.

other H2H's are better then this the onlything i can think of somone using this is for the +7 str.
and my guess to the latent effect is maybe when u are in yellow hp?

Can be sold on the AH...
Though, yeah, there are better hand-to-hand things out there, but if you're a RDM, BLM or SMN and sub MNK or THF for 2H2 skill, these are fun to show off with. =P

Latent effect: MP drain 1/s, which is given from the weapon itself anyway.

u can get a million of these buy trade infinity core and red chip to the strange apparatus in f-11 of dangruf wadi behind a hidden wall. If ur curious enough, try and trade some other color with the core instead, like a black chip for death. i have done it, and so can u.
