As I'm reading this post, & others, & seeing how ppl r complaining @ the prices being so dam high, I can't help at wonder..... Y don't those ppl just shut their traps & just farm for the materials used? Not only is it a gil saver, but fun as well. Also, by farming the materials & not paying ridiculous prices at the AH(sometimes caused by RMTS), u save quite a bit of gil(& I speak from personal experience) that can be used toward upgrading armor & getting spells.
Why complain about the price of bee chips? i can go out for less than 30 minutes and farm myself a stack for free... so that means if wax is 30k or some odd.. then i can get the chips for free.. and water is what.. 10g or so each... 120g for 30k isn't bad if you just do a little work yourself. if you hq, that is even better.
As a level 60 Alchemist i readily HQ these but only obtaiin 2 (regular HQ). Once i got 4, but thats about 1 in over 100. I find this very strange since the cap is 5 and i would expect to be HQ3-HQ4 readily.
Hence i can only come to the conclusion SE gimped the HQ rate on these to try and balance the economy. Right now on Valefor the Chips are selling for between 12-15k a stack. When i used to farm them to fund early jobs they were 8k a stack. However the Beeswax is now around 35k a stack.
This results in Silent oils going for 19-20k a stack. Rather pricey for all those non mage jobs (like mine)
Valefor price update, Beehive chips 20-25k a stack wax 60k a stack oils uhh no clue alchemy is a sub for me but i believe right around 30-40k last i bought some (couple days ago) i believe i payed 32k.
Phoenix -------- Wax: 670k per stack Chips: 400k per stack Oils: 65m per stack
Don't complain about your prices and BLA BLA BLA!
I often sit alone in my room and fantasize about what paradises the other servers must be and I curse my own bad luck for choosing the wrong server. Luckily I have the Allakhazam forums where I can cry out my missery and get sympathy from the wealthy people on the other servers.
lol that's bull. phoenix: in bastok the Chips are going foe 18-20k a stack, Beeswax is 40k a stack. now I don't see why one would be doing wax out of chips, unless you can HQ, since you waste 3 chips for 1 piece of wax, and then there's the need for crystals and water... meh, that explains why there's only 2 stacks of wax up on AH and 30+ stacks of chips... some guy monopolized the wax market in bastok by dropping their price. what can I say: smart
When oils are going for 65 Million gil per stack, you quit the game. I highly doubt that is true. If it is true, i'll switch servers and run around sneaking people for gil for a living.
it doesnt matter what the prices are of the chips and wax, all that matters is the amount of profit % you make back from it. obviously if the prices are that high, the stuff you're selling to make the gil for those chips is really high too. its basic economics.
Hey I'm Lucide from Ramuh. I'm an alchemist with a lvl of 18 after I take my test I'm going to try to find ways to make gil and lvl but seems like this has the best chance of me making gil (this or poison potions which I'm currently making)so what should I do?
Ya know, there's one thing i'm not understanding with bee chips and bee's wax. Why on earth are people going to farm them, raise price to 10-11k+, then complain that their silent oil's cost too much to use. Then, ofcourse, you'll get more threads on people complaining bout melee not having silent oils and haveing to cast sneak.
I will never understand raising prices on simple things like beechips. lol
What's your point? You say a farmer raises the price of Silent Oils because he raises the Bees ***price ?
Now every alchemist is free to waste a few hrs and farm his own materials (and some do). Which means their synth costs are completely free from whatever material-farmer set up as price. Still i have to see someone selling Oils (or other stuff) for far below standard price. You do realize that quite a few of the crafter (alchemists) make 29k win if they sell a stack of Silent Oils for 30k ?
Also it should be common sense for mages to sneak non mages of their pt. A mage uses meager 12MP for that and 1 or 2 secs and demands a melee to rather toss xK gil then sneaking ? How about the melee starts to charge for provoke or similar melee abilities, that help/save the mages . . .
And yes, i have BRD75 (currently 74 though), RDM75, THF63, BLM52 and so on. I never expect/demand a melee of my pt to bring oils/powders, but i do expect some support of the mages of my pt when i'm on a melee class. C'mon, ego bastages, it never hurts to show a lil courtesy or lend a hand.
Look, gil is a place holder for time. If I can spend 1 hour farming item x for 1 hour and make 500k, great. And if I can farm item y for an hour and make 500k then also great. If I can farm beehive chips and make 10k an hour... I'm not going to do it. The price has to raise to be equal with other things that people can farm at the level most farmers are at.
On Garuda, beehive chips were 10-11k a stack and beeswax was 30-33k a stack. I've been farming them from bees in konschtat and tahrongi while leveling my lvl 15-20 jobs so I could make them for my leather craft and silent oils.
Was skilling up leatherworking, and was at 45.1 when I ran out of ram leather. I bought some lightning crystals and started desynthing my Cuir Bouilli, and I got beeswax x1. I got about 0.5 in skillups off the desynth too. (I also got lizard skin x1 and ram leather x2/x3.)
I'm lvl 55 Alchemy and have yet to get my club for it, but I usually get about half HQ laf normal, then a few HQ2s aswell on top of that, I try to do the synthing on either firesday, watersday or lightsday as they yield the best HQ results, Ive yet to get an HQ3 though, 4 beeswax would be nice :P

HQ refers to High-Quality, exceptional results. The HQ for some items may have increased stats, while other items may result in an increased product yield.
Recently on alexander, stacks went up to 22k.. Silent oil stacks are now 13-14k, and beehive chip stacks are 7-8k.. something seriously went wrong overnight! Weird stuff, i cant find beehive chips or beeswax anywhere.. ruining my money income.
Beehive chips are currently anywhere from 8k to 10k a stack on Ifrit. I don't purchase them - I'd rather farm them in North Gustaberg or Pashow Marshlands.
On Hades this goes for about 30-40k a stack depending on city. Bostok is cheapest city. Was up to 50k for a bit. Also the behive chips average 10-15k Again depending on city. My server costs too much.
Ok im so confused, the thingy says the skill cap is level 5 but my alchemy is level 6 and i can make these, i mean how does this recipe list work? help
Dude.... you can make anything that has a skill cap less than your current level and even somewhat higher than your current level. The skill cap just refers to the level at which you will not gain skill-up points anymore while crafting the item. So if you are level 6, then you will never ever reach level 7 by making beeswax.
Ok, the way I've always done this, even at my lvl now. Is I go to the hill in N. Gustaberg. Go to the second lvl and just farm this stuff. If you don't know anything about the hill then I won't even go into it. But if it sparks anything, then you know I'm talking about.
Beeswas does not drop. Period. The chips drop. You need 3 chips and a fire crystal to create the wax. It's a nice skillup for Alchemy from 0 to the cap.

Hmm. Since my highest class is 46THF, I can't comment on bees higher than that level. However, since I farm beehive chips from bees ALL over Vanadiel ALL the time for extra gil, and have TH2, I can say with authority that beeswax sure as hell does not drop from these mobs. I'd really be interested in knowing which bee you personally saw drop a wax, first-hand.
Beeswax CAN drop off some goblin type mobs though not off wasp type mobs. For example, goblim ambushers and tinkerers. It is however a rare drop so keep that in mind.
