Odd how this weapon doesnt add anything to the SMN job such as lowering perpetuation cost and such like the Astral Signa... still a very neat weapon and the WS sounds Kinky
Use the WS outside of Dynamis...

I seen a video where someone used this weapon skill outside of Dynamis. How do you get to this point, or was that a fake video? They were outside of jueno when they did it.

Thanks^^

Perhaps it was a fake video, but it is possible to do the WS outside of Dynamis, once you have the fully-upgraded Relic Staff. To dismiss the video as Fake because he used "Gates of Tartarus" outside of Dynamis would be a mistake. Check the other things Perfidious mentioned (damage, etc) before making any judgements.

It's fake. You can change anything in the game to look like anything else in the game by switching .DAT files, so someone loaded up the Relic WS graphics of every weapon and switched them with a diffrent actual WS used ingame and put them online so people could see what they looked like. He/She also put the character in god armor and such for effect. If you look closely, the WS do ****** damage , because they're not actually that WS according to the non-graphical data.

Friend of mine likes to run around East Saruta doing "Apocolypse" and "Final Heaven" on random goblins. I worry about him sometimes.

you know it says 'Gate of Tartarus', right? Which could be losely translated to 'Gate of Hell'. I still haven't seen any of these relic weapons (beyond the initial 'relic' form) :(

Yeah, I've always wondered why Tartarus was related to hell/hades/death etc, while Tarutaru was the epitome of cuteness. lol

Your right, I think most who play FFXI pronounce Tartarus as Tar-tarews which is wrong, its Tar-ta-rus. Heres a copy and paste:
Tartarus is the lowest region of the world, as far below earth as earth is from heaven. According to the Greek poet Hesiod, a bronze anvil falling from heaven would take nine days and nights to reach earth, and an object would take the same amount of time to fall from earth into Tartarus. Tartarus is described as a dank, gloomy pit, surrounded by a wall of bronze, and beyond that a three-fold layer of night. Along with Chaos, Earth, and Eros, it is one of the first entities to exist in the universe.

While Hades is the main realm of the dead in Greek mythology, Tartarus also contains a number of characters. In early stories, it is primarily the prison for defeated gods; the Titans were condemned to Tartarus after losing their battle against the Olympian gods, and the hecatoncheires stood over them as guards at the bronze gates. When Zeus overcomes the monster Typhus, born from Tartarus and Gaia, he hurls it too into the same abyss.

However, in later myths Tartarus becomes a place of punishment for sinners. It resembles Hell and is the opposite of Elysium, the afterlife for the blessed. When the hero Aeneas visits the underworld, he looks into Tartarus and sees the torments inflicted on characters such as the Titans, Tityos, Otus and Ephialtes, and the Lapiths. Rhadymanthus (and, in some versions, his brother Minos) judges the dead and assigns punishment.
