The latest update WoTG quest "When one man is not enough"

And just to clarify "muddy siredon" isnt EX and neither is "blackened muddy siredon". (This was probably changed in an update.) Trade this to the stone entrance in west saruta baruta for a funny c/s with Lehko.

Good luck on your quests and Missions everyone. ;D

Can you not just go to the Central Landing area and fish right off of Newtpool?

On the map it looks as if you are able to go right up to Newtpool and fish there - not having to be on a boat.

If anyone has tried this please let me know - thanks!

To get the Blackened Siredon (ex), you fish up a Muddy Siredon (rare/ex) and pay an npc to cook it for you.

The Muddy Siredon is said to be level 10, catchable by nearly anyone.

Acquire a decent rod, a Composite has been used, a Halcyon may break. Since I had a Lu'Shangs, I used it.

Acquire amphibian bait, Lufaise Fly, which stacks to 12. I caught one with each stack. These may appear on the Auction House or, if you have access to Tavnazian Safehold, you may purchase from npc's; Emaliveulaux in Bastok Mines (G-6) or in Tavnazian Safehold from Mazuro-Oozuro (F-9) or Nilerouche (F-7)

Go to Carpenter's Landing, South Landing dock, generally accessed from Jugner Forest east of the Norvallen Outpost.

Talk to the Elvaan Anguenet before or after you have caught a Muddy Siredon, and ask about Newtpool. He will mention the Muddy Siredon and that his companion will cook it for you. Without this talk, you cannot get it cooked.

Purchase a multi-pass for the Barge, and ride it, fishing as you pass thru Newtpool. Note that fishing along these routes will often catch the unstackable Phanauet Newt, easy to catch and not particularly valuable, so that if you're concerned about using up your bait, listen to the guide and fish in Newtpool exclusively.

After you have caught a Muddy Siredon, trade it to the Tonberry Lourdaude, also on the dock at South Landing. He mutters something about 100 gil, trade him 100 gil to receive a Blackened Muddy Siredon. Interestingly, this fee is a one time charge, subsequent cooking is done at no charge.

Use it on the targeted Mithra in the CoP fight in Boneyard Gully to reduce their TP and avoid the deadly SC, as:

For Anyone Who Doesnt Know, This Is Used In PM5-3 (Three Forks) On the Ulmia Path On the Mithra Trackers BC. You Target the Mithra u want to use it on, and it will stop the tp spam they use for ~30 sec

To do the quest talk to the npc near the tonberry, have them talk about the newtpool, they mention Muddy Siredons and the tonberry next to him. Trade the tonberry Muddy Siredons + 100 gil to get your very own Blackened Muddy Siredon. Try trading him only one and he'll sniff it (and take it), and mutters 100 gil. Give him 100 gil and he gives you the blackened one.

You can only catch them at Newtpool, I personally used Composite Rod + Lufaise Flies, you catch tons of the reg. lizards so this will lose gil unless you mule the lizards. (500 gil a piece in Jeuno on Leviathan)
Out of 3.5 stacks of flies I caught 2 of them.

Happy Hunting ;D

EDIT: I have 25 fishing, and they're easy to catch. ;)

EDIT-2: Wow, I'm an idiot. o.x Turns out you need one, realized this when I had a blackened one and a regular one in my inventory.. doh!

Targets the nearest mob? Sounds suspiciously like a debuff type item for a CoP mission. ie. The animas you can use against promyvion bosses.

edit: Yep, I was right.

Quote:
Muddy Siredon Grill QUEST:
Go to Carpenter's Landing via the Jugner Entrance near the Outpost and head to the pier (J-10) to talk to Anguenet. Choose the third route option and he will tip you off about the fabled Muddy Siredon that can be fished up along this swamp route. Go ride the barge along the mentioned route and try to fish up a Muddy Siredon (Rare/Ex). Trade the muddy siredon and 100gil to the tonberry standing behind Anguenet to receive the grill.
The grill's effect is to prevent the Tracker Mithras from having their TP regening in a chapter 5 BC fight.

Mithran Delicacies
# Nov 01 2004 at 12:21 AM Rating: Good
Has anyone actually tried feeding it to the Mithra there? When I asked her about the tonberry or whatever, she gave me a quest called Mithran Delicacies... She never outright said it, but it said if I got a muddy siredon and gave it to the tonberry, I'd have a food that Mithra loved to eat, and she wanted some. O.o
not quite...

No, hes the guy who gives you the blackened siredon. You give him teh muddy siredon, he asks you for 100 gil, and when you give him that, he gives you the blackened version...and now I can't figure out what to do with it! O_o

try bringing it to Lourdaude located at the South Landing in the Carpenters' Landing, it's the little tonberry behind Anguenet. You can give him a muddy siredon, not sure what you get for it, but I bet he takes the blackened one too.
Confused....

anyone know what this does? I have this, and I can't figure out what to do with it! ^_^ You can't eat it and when I try to use it, it auto-targets the nearest mob. But I can't do anything more than that...
