Why is this so tough???
# Dec 10 2004 at 6:33 PM Rating: Excellent
It's pretty obvious that beastcoins and beastmen seals are two different items. If the recipe calls for beastcoins, you use beastcoins, not seals. The items have two different names, therefore they are two different items with two different uses.
I have
# Sep 18 2004 at 12:33 AM Rating: Decent
I have about 36-40 Beast coins. And about 11 Silver beast coins and 34 Gold beast coins. I stole them all. And the trick is to steal from behind a mob. So run in cuirculs around a Yag. and once it swings steal. Also the name of the yag depends on what coin you get. Dont even try to get them from drops. Its pointless and only a 20% chance while stealing gives you a 60-70% chance of getting BeastCoins

Beastcoins are a VERY rare drop from windurstian goblins (only got it once) Silver beastcoins drop occasinally (uncommon but not super-rare) from yagudo in tahrongi canyon. Beastmen seals drop like raindrops. I never really bothered with them, my inventory being crowded as it is.

I hear ya on dropping the seals. I got too many and had no space in my inventory so I chucked them. Once I'm ready to do the BCNMs, I will get them again.

YOU DROPPED BEASTMEN SEALS?!? It doesn't matter if they are common. You need those for the BCNM quests!

#REDACTED, Posted: May 02 2004 at 12:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The last time I found a beast coin my PS2 made a weird noise and then everyting was normal again. When I checked my inventory my screen flashed. This was the first time I stole a beast coin, so I wanted to check it out. MY INVENTORY SAID I HAD 100 BEASTCOINS!!! I don't know how or why this happened I am only a level 8 theif right now. Has this happened to anybody else

Clarification
# Jan 27 2004 at 2:31 PM Rating: Default
beastmen coin are droped mainly from beastmen (yagudo, quadav, orc). the beastmen in all three kingdom are gobolins. They drop the coins. The beastmen seals are drop from practicaly any monster and are used to BCNM (burning circle Notorios Monster). Basically u use 40 seals to summon 6 notorios monster (fight all at once) and they drop 6 good items.
RE: Clarification
# Jul 22 2004 at 1:12 PM Rating: Decent
Beastmen seals are droped by lvl49 and below mobs. Lvl 50 and up drop Kindred seals. And there are many types of BCNMs that require different amounts of seals.
Brass and Bronze Ingots

Just had to pop in here really fast to clarify something about these ingots. The recipe that calls for 3 copper ores and 1 zinc ore is the goldsmithing recipe for brass ingots, while the recipe for 4 beastcoins is the blacksmithing recipe for bronze ingots.
Beastcoins
# Dec 01 2003 at 12:58 PM Rating: Default
Beastcoins come in different types from the plain copper ones just called beastcoins to silver gold and mythril types. They all drop from various mobs around the towns the stronger the mob the better type of coin you find. In and around Bastok the goblins and quads very rarely drop the standard beastcoins, in and around Windhurst the Yagudo, which are bird men, drop the silver types. These coins are used in various crafting recipes. Check the guild recipe pages to see what specifically.
Also on a side note I was told by a high level english speaking japanese player that beast seals which are totally different are used later on in some quest where the more you have the better rare items you can get. In the guide book I have some guy in another town ask you for them, but you have to be able to ride a Chocobo in order to get the quest.
Hope this info helps all of you out.

Glad to know my stealing gets better. Right now at level 7 thief I'm about 2 in 5 tries. I also steal meat off rarabs.. that's gotta' hurt and grass thread off gobbie weavers. Oddyly, none of the mobs are too happy with me when I steal from them. hmmmm...
Coins good, seals bad

Ive never seen coins drop, I buy mine from AH for 1k a stack of 12. From everything ive checked theives must steal them from beastman. SEALS AND COINS ARE NOT THE SAME, seals drop off of anything and are very abundant and are damn worthless unless you are lvl 40+, they are used to inniate special battles on expedetionary forces or something like that. i dont even bother saving, ive deleted so many of those pos items.

since seals are 99 to a stack and eventually you'll need tons of them its stupid to throw them away.

I'm from bastok so I obviously can join both guilds but when trying it says my level isnt high enough? How are two 0 level skills too low?

Goldsmithing(1)(?)<-i think thats the lvl
1x Fire Crystal
1x Zinc Ore
3x Copper Ore

and
Smithing(0)and Alchemy (0)
1x Fire Crystal
4x Beastcoins

i think thats it

where to find
# Nov 12 2003 at 6:20 AM Rating: Default
ive got about 50ish of them from stealing from orcs goblins and whatnot, they rarely drop as loot better to find a thief selling them if you need them.
Coins, not seals.
# Nov 12 2003 at 5:40 AM Rating: Default
Yeah, I think that guy is talking about the Coins, and not seals, as it says in the desc of them, widely used by the Yagudo, and you can find them all just outside of Windhurst, I have so many of them, dunno what to do with em, until now.

I'm a thief in San D'Oria and I've kept every beastcoin I've gotten - about 20 so far. Each area has I believe two distinct "groups" that are "beastmen". For us, it's the orcs and goblins. Every coin I've gotten has been (mostly) stolen or (rarely) dropped from one of these two groups.
You don't really need these; copper and tin ore will get you the same thing (see recipes).
The Beastmen's Seals are different; these are a quest item (for later, apparently). They drop from seemingly anything. I just stack 'em in the safe.
HOW TO GET
# Nov 11 2003 at 2:02 AM Rating: Decent
If you start near Bastok, they can be STOLEN off of any of the lizardmen, amber and what not.
these suck
# Nov 10 2003 at 4:59 AM Rating: Default
These must be really rare.... i'm 10 now, hunting non stop w/ my signet and i've yet to see a single one drop.. got 15 seals... but not one coin. Rough that it's such a rare item for such a basic tradeskill item
Coins
# Nov 08 2003 at 11:20 AM Rating: Decent
I've had about 3 of the coins drop. They seems to be from random mobs. One dropped from a goblin fisher, a forest hair and the last was an orcish fodder. The seals seem to be random as well and more frequent. Some one said they are used for a quest in Jeuno, but I am only lv 10 and have not been able to comfirm that. I have seen about 4 coins stolen from mobs, so that might be an easier way to get them. Again they seemed random including mobs like wild sheep and mouse bats.
Seal or coin?
# Nov 07 2003 at 8:04 PM Rating: Default
So let me get this straight, I know coins are used in Smithing but what about the Seals? I have about 7 I'm not sure what to do with them.

Can I synthesize the Seals into something? Or are Seals Coins?
Beast Coin
# Nov 07 2003 at 5:07 PM Rating: Decent
There is an item called 'Beast Coin' I can buy them from the AH. That's what I used to make bronze ingots. I just wish I knew how to get these besides the AH, like what they drop off or whatever.
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 07 2003 at 4:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) They mean seals. There is no beast man "coin" by itself.
COINS
# Nov 07 2003 at 11:32 AM Rating: Excellent
You all are getting the coins and NOT the seals right? I have tons of seals but have never seen a coin drop from anything yet.

I've only been able to find them at the AH

ps, they aren't the same thing, I can't synth bronze ingots with seals, I have to use coins
Easiest way to get them
# Nov 06 2003 at 9:44 PM Rating: Decent
1) They're dirt cheap and not worth much other than to smiths.
2) Steal from Yagudo's, almost every Yagudo type (other than the NE's) will cough one up with little probably.

60 isn't an unreasonable number if you've been stealing them, I got about 30 today, just to use and up my smith skill.
goblin dropped it
# Nov 06 2003 at 8:46 PM Rating: Decent
i got mine from a goblin in east ron. fire crystals also drop from goblins so they're good to hunt if you want to do smithing.
