Why, why must our JSE legs be a subligar?
It isn't as ugly as the lower level subligars, but it is pretty close.

Please SE, no more Subligars.
duh...

Why would a Thf need -Breath Attack damage for?

Thieves tend to stand behind tanks for Trick purposes correct? Most tanks stand to the front of something that can breathe fire, with Fafnir for example, since being behind it could cause a flail, correct?

The fire breath attack is directional AoE, meanign the thief will take it too. Huzzah ;)
Here's a reason for reduction in breath damage...

Because it's made from a dragon bone! Just like how the dragon slayers of lore would have a shield and armor of dragon scales, because that was the only thing that could protect them from a dragons breath, a subligar made from dragon bones will help protect a thief butt from breath damage.

Does it need an absolute reason? Of course not, but I think SE did good with adding in little stuff like this. Keeps in more "realistic" in the fantasy realm.

They wont be tanking Dragons or other mobs that use Breath attacks. I say it should be kept for Drg's really... but Pld's and prolly War's, just because they're tanks for the other mobs.

I've been wondering this since this update came out for these, and the rest of the new Dragon equipment, and no one knows why it's Thf exclusive... someone please finally explain this to me.

You know breath attacks aren't limited just to dragons, right?

For example, both crawlers and funguars have breath attacks as well.

Up in Xaracabard, there's a Shadow Dragon that is just a normal mob. If you haven't fought the Shadow Dragon that pops somewhere near the outpost in the area, then guess now is something to hear. This Shadow Dragon isn't a NM so it'll con to you as a Easy Prey or Too Weak depending on levels. The thing about this dragon, is that it drops gil. So if you were to go up there as a THF75 wearing the dragon equipment just to solo this dragon to farm, chances are that you MAY get hit with a breath attack before it's dead. The dragon has a pretty fair amount of HP but not impossible to kill.

This is one situation I can really think of for solo use with this armor on a THF at the moment.

Subtle blow mmkay? Less TP moves per each dagger swing solo = win

Only reason i can think of is Assassin+Trick Attack your behind a tank and if it uses a breath attack you get hit ... and well ... THF's are paper thin so they could use the extra protection
Enmity?

A Thief JSE with an enmity plus? This seems a bit strange to me, would this and extra hate when SATA'ing onto someone? Anyone who has any idea, make a suggestion!

In addition to the Emnity being piled onto your SATA Partner, High Level thieves themselves equipped with Evasion and Agility gear can make great tanks, or back up tanks. This being that they have hightened A+ Evasion skill, as well as the ability to use Utsusemi: Ichi AND Ni at 74-75, if they have NIN subbed, that is.

Actualy enmity+ is common equip-swaps for THF, If somebody is having trouble holding hate, Make them tank. Trick Attacks transfers all hate that you do, so enmity+ on that big Sneak Attack hit really is useful for your Ninja.

I've actually made a tank who was AFK hold hate by swapping gear and SATAVB onto him. Also note all THF Relic has enmity+ too! Enmity+ is very fashionable, I believe everyone will be wearing them in the future. [Princess Bride reference]

Bingo!

Not to mention this is all after the Ability: Assassin for THF so splitting TA from SA allows you to drop a TA+WS with added emnity on the PLD/TANK as often as the TA-timer and TP allow.

Assassin was designed to split the SA TA style to give the THF more hate control without losing damage numbers. This Armor makes me happy!

I'll make you a deal, you can have new armor if THF gets to wear Kirin's Osode.

Probably because it's made from a dragon bone and reduces breath damage. Is there something wrong with that?
wow new item for thief

I almost felt like flaming that statement because mnk and ninja get argueable the best armor in the game. They can wear every piece of uber god equipment, and get haste equips out the, well you know. Kirins Osode, byakko hadiate and all those dang +haste gear and whatnot. IMO the two best pieces in the game are K. Osode and the Hadaite and mnk can sport both. +10 to all stats and +15 dex +5% haste is godly. Neither of which can thief wear, actually thf cant wear any of the god gear. We do get heca gear which almost noone else even touches because of the 50% slow it gives.

But neways you prob havent had experience with it since you are around level 20 so its understandable.

lol, they will prolly by the time your MNK gets to lv 70+, all the new armor is lv 70+, so, when you get that high there might be new MNK armor
