raises goldsmith skill instead?
# Jan 19 2004 at 2:58 PM Rating: Default
I've made dozens of bronze and brass ingots and it raises my goldsmithing skill instead of my smithing skill. What gives?

Brass and copper only are goldsmithing skills. Maybe thats what ya meant.
Goblin Mail and Goblin Helm
# Jan 15 2004 at 1:54 PM Rating: Default
I tried both the Goblin Mail and Goblin Helm with a Light Crystal and got the message saying that this was not a valid combination. I then tried them with Lightning Crystal and got the message saying it was beyond my current abilities.

The Beastcoins do drop off of mobs, I've had them drop from a couple goblins in Thiene before. I was surprised, I thought you could only get them through stealing, but it dropped none the less.

Beastman coins are very rare drops off of any monsters.

i don't think you have to steal beastcoins (i may have gotten one or two by sheer luck as a drop), but the best way i've gotten them was to steal from the beastmen of the area (goblins, orcs, yagudo, quadav, etc.)

I'm thinking I've gotten some beastcoins off of mobs before, and I'm not a thief. Do you ~have~ to steal these?

Not sure how high the craft needs to be to do this one though. Got the Recipe from a Japanese Player :)

4 beastcoin and 1 fire crystal still giving me some smithing point, but i didn't get any alchemy point so far. There is something special i need to do to up alchemy instead of smithing or that won't work? :x
another recipe

I was just in the Smithing guild wasting time til the shop opened. Thought I'd see what recipes they that. One of them told me to make bronze ingots. All I would need is 1x fire crystal, 1x tin ore and 6x Bronze nuggets. I'm not sure how to get bronze nuggets though... Maybe from the mining? I think I remember seeing some item with the discription of "this cantians many small chunks of copper" maybe there are some with bronze and that were the nuggets are from? But anyways, there is another recipe straight from the smithing guild.

The reason why you guys probably haven't heard of Beastcoins is because you aren't a thief. Beastcoins are stolen from beastmen, like orcs and goblins and quadavs. Some mobs, like Goblin Fishers, for example will sometimes yield a fishing pole instead. For the Bronze Ingot, however, I have only crafted them using the smithing recipe:

Fire Crystal + 4 Beastcoins

I tried to do the Alchemy one, but I was told I couldn't Synthesize it. To clear up some confusion here's the other ingot recipes you are inquiring about:

Fire Crystal + 4 Copper Ores = Copper Ingot

Fire Crystal + 1 Zinc Ore + 3 Copper Ore = Brass Ingot
Multiple ways

Ingots can be made using the 3x copper + 1x tin combination (fire), or beastcoin x4 (fire). You can steal beastcoins off of Orcs or Goblins.

Regarding the alchemy one, I have a 2 in smithing, and a 0 in alchemy, and using a single water crystal and a single beastcoin, I cannot synth an ingot. Perhaps it really is a beastman coin needed?

the one with 3 copper ore and one tin ore is for a bronze ingot, 4 coppers make a copper ingot (both with fire crystal)
Beast COIN

Ok I think I have a little more info on this. First off, the item is a Beast Coin, not beastMAN coin :) I don't want that confusing anybody looking to get these.

I think the Beast Coins drop off the mobs near Windhurst. I can't remember the name of the mob but it's the equivalent to San d'Oria's goblins and orcs and Bastok's Quadav's. I'm thinking of making a suicide run over to Windhurst to slaughter a few mobs and see what drops.

I have never seen a beastman coin, i have like 14 beastman seals, does anyone know if they are the same thing? If not, what are the beastman seals used for I cant find info on them anywhere?

I'm confused...the recipe the guy at the guild gave me said to use a fire crystal and 4 beast coins. Now this site is saying a fire crystal, 3 copper ore and 1 tin ore?

Do both recipes work to give the same result?
