This item can make activating Minstrel's Ring much easier. However, I think the effect only lasts for 5 minutes.
Try it out!

Before Maat fight you should definitely think about doing this fight. Not only is it a good preperation, but you can also snag that ring which will definitely help with Maat fight.

Not only will it help you last longer, but the extra HP will make for an extra powerful Spirits Within. ^_^ And thats something to think about.

The exp isn't bad either.. specially when doing god fights and such and you die alot. 2000 EXP in roughly 5 minutes isn't bad at all. >_> <_< >_>
how long?

any confirmation on how long the effect lasts? if its less than at least a couple of minutes, then it wont be worth doing the ENM to get it... but if it is a worthwhile amount of time (ie: 5min+) then i could see doing this fight every time i run out of charges ^^

This is the ENM i do for fun. I don't find this fight hard at all, i know other people on other jobs that get butchered on this ENM but they aren't fighting such a pansy fantochinni i'd imagine.
The only issue about this ring is that i've beat this three? times i think now and havn't gotten the drop. that's 6000 limit points though so far, thank you very much, so i don't mind sparing the gil to get in.
If you want the ring, wear AF1 and bring a sword. eat some kind of food. i've done this with ambrosia or crab and sadly crab seems to be better. Same price though~. bring a regen drink if you want to be safe, sing paeonIV and III and you probably won't take any noticiable damage from the Fantochinni. I used Soul Voice last time, PaeonIV MinuetIII and took him down in 5 min. sometimes it takes longer if the Fantochinii gets a cure and prolongs the inevitable. Thas' it.

Nice that you have had such good luck and all. Are you a galka?
I get destroyed by cyclone every time. He never choose anything but cyclone and it hits me for 200+. I'm 0/2 on this enm. First try he killed me with 3 cyclones in a row and I never got him below 80%. Second run I got him to 50% and he pwned me with 2 cyclones in a row( I fell just as he won 150 tp for his 3rd ws) :( I'm starting to think its not worth the gil to do this. If I HAVE to buy special gear or eat expensive food, drinks, and potions just to win 2k xp and chance at a ring I will most likely never use..its not worth it. As a bard I get all the "free" xp I want in the form of regular xp parties.
HP?

Well.....good luck to you Bards who want to fight to get this one....Is 20% HP really a difference between Life or Death....if so....you need another party...

Good Luck to you Brave Bards

20% can mean a lot, that's about 120 hp or more, for most bards, which, in a fight with an nm, or during bcnm's could most certainly increase the brd's longevity

especially since most Bards today (or at least on Lakshmi) are hooked on armor that converts HP to MP or subtracts HP altogether. With this one, you don't have to worry about sacrificing precious HP for other armor.
Look carefully...

First off, the bard Maat fight isn't that easy, and almost always requires good equipment, preparation, and a few potions and other meds, even for the most skilled bards. Especially for our vertically challenged friends, whose usual sacrifice of hp for added mp is great, but here is a major loss.

Also Raaze, the BCNM you're thinking of is capped at level 40, so bards can't use this there, it being a lvl 61 ring. Bards certainly do not tank any uncapped BCNM I can think of like we do the BCNM 40. The only uses I can come up with for this ring is either ballista, for obvious reasons, or for god fights and other things where even bards will get TP off of other, weaker mobs before the real fight starts and use Spirits Within for some nice damage. My current HP is about 1100, and with that I do spirits within for about 525. If you add another 20% hp, that's about 1320, which adds a good amount to spirits within. I'm a hume, if you did this with a galka or an elvaan bard, the effect is even greater. It's true that most bards aren't in the situation like this, and certainnly not until endgame, but trust me, the chance is there.

Bard ends up semi tanking when he sleeps enemies in BCNMs so I can certainly see the use of it.
O.o useful? Umm

Maat fight for BRD is easy enough as it is(given the BRD isnt a noob and has skilled up his/her sword). I don't really think you need a ring to give your more HP in order to beat him.
I can't really think of a situation where I would actually use this ring except for the heck of it.
Very useful when doing big stuff

Yeah. Long as the effect lasts long enough(30 min?) This can be seen as some sort of super medicine for bards.

I can see myself using one of those if I'm about to fight somethin big & have nasty AOE.
limited use

here's one of those items that looks horrible at first. i can see it having a few purposes. maybe it would make soloing certain things and the Maat fight easier?
