I think it would be nice if plds got enlight, seeing as they are suposed to be holy knights. Maybe like whm and pld, but like the Aspir and Drain with drks, plds should get it at a lower lvl then the mages.
lol, no, to answer your question. Rdm will never get enlight nor will whms ever get the spell.
"Why? it's an "en-" spell, rdm should get it!"
Think about it, there are inumerable reasons and examples where things that fall in one category DON'T fall into another required category, so the assumed job doesn't get it. Dark based DD spells, Endark, Enlight, blm doesn't get holy, rdm doesn't get drain or aspir.
Holy is a DD, so blms should have it, right? No, they shouldn't, they are not "holy knights" they are more neutral/evil they couldn't understand the rightteousness needed to cast it.
Rdm doesn't get Aspir or Drain, why? they're utility spells, but the reason rdm doesn't get them is that they are are dark spells, tricky things, tricks of the trade so to speak from those who deal with REAL black magic.
Now, these were just examples (that may have not been as clear as they sounded to me...), but I think you get the point :P
Hmm...well just because a spell is DD doesn't mean it necessarily should belong to a black mage. Also it would be pointless to give rdm's drain and aspir since a great deal of the rdm population subs blm 30+. Pld's I think should get an enlight spell or call it something besides enlight to stray away from the other rdm en-spells.
Anyone know what this sells for....I'm sure it'd make a great gift for one of my White Mages at my promotion ceremony. Good question about the Red Mage Inlight thing...makes sense.....
so wait, it has an added effect: Light damage AND enchantment: Enlight? that's kinda useless. example:
XXX hits the <mob> for 47. <mob> takes 16 damage. XXX uses a Sacred mace. XXX gains the effect of Enlight. XXX hits the <mob> for 47 <mob> takes 16 damage.
Or am I completley wrong on this?
WAR/NIN should be good with this ... have a axe / Sacred Mace.
and with double attack, ooo.
RDM should get Enlight and Endark, i like your idea.
Ok I can clear this up a little. A weapon that has an additional effect like "Light Damage"...You will see this effect now and then, the difference between that and the enlight (or any other en- spell) is that the additional effect will do more damage when it does kick in.
I am a RDM and I use the new Wing Sword. It has additional efect: Wind Damage
When that effect kicks in it usually does 40-45 damage. The en- spell ability will do 8-17 (assuming you are same en-spell as vanadiel day i.e. enfire on fires day)
Ok if this works like the other spells, it should allow you to use the Enlight then switch to whatever weapon you want and still have enlight with the other weapon. Where as the latent effect is bound to the weapon.
The additional effect will only trigger on rare occasions. It seems to occur more often on weaker monsters, so you can think of it as a mini-critical hit.
If you use the Enlight enchantment, you will deal extra damage on EVERY SINGLE HIT until it wears off =)
