How to really get this cap
# Aug 03 2008 at 8:46 AM Rating: Decent
If anyone bothered to look at Vana'diel Census, it says right there that to get this you need to do Limit Break 5 with 15 different jobs. This isn't what I've heard or think, this was SE telling us this. Just wanted to put that out there.

Beyond the Sun
# Mar 21 2007 at 1:54 PM Rating: Decent
Actually, theres a quest after beating him 15 times, called Beyond the Sun that opens immediately upon talking to him when you beat him the 15th time.

It has a great story, I submitted it to Pikko to add as a quest to the database. I listed the coverstation I had with maat there

It's been around since long before the three new jobs were released, and I don't believe you even fight Maat for those three jobs, if they're your first job to hit 70, so probably not.

i seen this cap once on the carbuncle sever and it was the one time i was confused
Acheivable !
# Feb 19 2007 at 12:31 PM Rating: Decent
I have set my new goal to get this cap. I seem not able to participate in alot of end-game things because i can't always play at specific times every specific set day. Alot of people feel this hat is un-attainable. I find it very attainable.

Your average player has 1 LV66+ job already, with at least 2 sub jobs LV30+.

The amount of EXP required to achieve the maat cap is aprox 7.5mil EXP. (exactly 8mil if you start a new char, which you could get maat cap after spending 3.7months hard core leveling 14 hours a day everyday.).

If you spent about 8 hours a day (say 4pm to 12am) about 25 days a week, allowing some days to have a real life each month. You could acheive the maat cap in about 6 months of play. This is not difficult, but it would require you to exp every time you log on, no farming, no question, just solid EXP for 6 months. The game has been out going on 4 years US. I have 5 months left before i feel i could obtain said maat cap. Thats also knowing i can't spend 8 hours a day, and 6 days a week playing. This is based on finding a good PT that yields 6K EXP/hr (some PTs will yield more, some less, but if you hit the average of 6K / hr you'll be on pace for this nice reward soon!)

I only need 5mil EXP. Unfortuantly i can't count the 1mil exp i spent leveling blue mage, and the 1/2 mil exp in merits lol. Good luck to those who want this cap!

I heard Rumor about first 6 Jobs + 1 advanced about a month ago, i had WHM, BLM and WAR lvled, started lvling thf, which is now at 63....

Unfortunately i'm here to tell you that that rumor was indeed FALSE!!
a friend of mine is lvling all the jobs, he has beat maat on 6 starting, + 3 adv, and his smn at 63ish.... He didn't get Maat's cap after talking with him

15 jobs, i'm sorry for bad news.

I recently made a deal with my best friend. We're gonna EXP full time on my character, then his. We'll both have our caps, and with the support of each other I think we'll even make it.

This must be extremely good for those Jin mods. Oh, I can picture it now :D

Mumu wasn't the first. The person in the picture, Rio was. They even did a Tribune on him. I heard of Mumu anyways, even if they were the first, they don't count ;)
rumours? anyone?
# Aug 17 2006 at 12:18 AM Rating: Decent
so after reading this thread, i have drawn the conclusion that people DONT REALLY KNOW how to get the cap unless they, themselves have attained it. i dont know of any characters on Titan who have this item. can someone please just go up and ASK a player who has one if its 7 jobs or 14 jobs (up to Zilart jobs)?

honestly, all jobs seems a bit rediculous. SE really hasnt been known to change standards like this - and it was obvious that there would be more jobs available...

the only reasoning for this is that Aht Urhgan does not really fall under the main/old-world storyline - therefore not relating to Maat, period. all of the new jobs have a separate type of Genkai system.

so i can just keep rambling on, but really, can someone who has gone up to a player and asked please answer? :p
rumours? anyone?

There's no need to ask:

The original challenge was to beat Maat with all fifteen jobs. One can presume that the three newest jobs aren't necessary to complete this challenge since Maat has no expertise in those jobs.

It should be noted, by the way, that Mumu was a known botter and racist.
rumours? anyone?

The new jobs shouldn't effect getting this from maat, since you don't fight him with them, they have there own limit breaks.

Rapidayaka on Carbuncle also has one of these.
Now what?

So how does obtaining the Maat cap work now, after the 3 new Expansion Jobs?

And also, the new "East Maat's", will those 3 have to be defeated before this cap can be obtained?

Will beating the 3 Eastern Limit Break 6 fights, grant you a Teleport Turban type thing?

I guess we wait for update >.>

I am 41, I imagine I'll be retired, myself, b4 I get the blue cap ^ I have four children, but still got a wife (no pun intended there folks, lol).

I know of a player who began about the same time as I did. He levels so fast, that I would not doubt that he has it cap.

Here's a horrifying thought - SE allows characters to level up to 80, but makes Maat's Cap the G6 item. . mwaahhhaahahaha!

Greg W., "Achaicus" Bard, Bastok, Gilgamesh (nothing completed, ha ha!)
also, if 'this' is 'you,' check it out..

You dont need all jobs level 75, just have to beat G5 on all jobs,
so all jobs could be level 66 and you can have a maat's cap... just dont be able to wear it until 4 more levels :P

Pokorny has one on the Odin server.

Question, where does it teleport you if you use it?

"You have done this and this in a MMORPG, so you must have no life."

"You flame people for having no life on a forum... that's the kind of life you'd have us live?"

What is "a life"? Is it living a certain way in which no person(s) would consider to be a waste of time? Do any of us "have lives"?

I think a life is anything that a person chooses to do with their time that gives them happiness. Maybe you do your thang at the club and take some 38C mildly retarded blonde home. Maybe you do volunteer work. Maybe you don't have a job or friends and play FFXI for 12+ waking hours a day. W/E it is ya do, is that not a life?

#REDACTED, Posted: May 26 2006 at 1:52 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What the hell was the point of that post? You want to rag on some people who have more time to play the game than you. You're an incosiderate, foul tempered, jealous child for even posting anything like that. I myselfdo not have the time to play the game near enough to achieve this item, but will not condemn those who do.

wow, somebody is sensitive, lol. I just happened to have a few friends with Maat's hat and I hang out with them regularly. If you were offended by my posting, then you're either that guy's friend or an overlysensitive "flamer" bashing people on the internet. I see a post from someone who actually read my post and actually understood it.

"Enjoy your life, not condemn the lives of others."

So I guess you're saying that you agree with him and that everyone who has Maat's Hat, is a loser that has no life. I'm sure there are some gamers out there who disagree. Apparently you got your feelings hurt. Wasn't my intention to hurt anyone's feelings. I guess some things can't be avoided on FFXI. I do appreciate your attempt an adult response. Keep up the good work, lol.

Ok, when i started reading that post i was hoping that somewhere along the line you'd start making some semblance of sense... You just totally flamed that guy for absolutely no reason.

His/her entire post was -defending- people who play FFXI extensively, and you're just crapping on about him 'paying you out'.

Little advice: read before posting, kthxbai

Did you bother to even READ his post, or did ya just wanna flame him for lack or something better to do? Not one thing you mentioned in your post has anything to do with what he in fact has said. You set out to 'put him in his place' well, you put someone in 'a' place. Unfortunately for you, you made yourself look like a complete idiot to anyone who reads these posts. (Congratulations!) Next time try to put just a LITTLE more thought into your posts before you make them. You might be arguing the wrong side.

Actually if you read through his post carefully it seems that he's not insulting anyone for playing this game for hours on end day after day. He's merely stating that if you find something in life that you enjoy and gives you happiness and you spend all your time doing it then you have a life, regardless of what society says about the activity. That's what I gather from the last paragraph of his post.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 01 2006 at 9:53 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You now only need 7 jobs past Maat fight G5 to obtain this hat, it has been changed. +7 to every stat and 7 jobs, clever huh...
