You got to beat Absolute Virtue before you could get this and no you can't sell all rare items on AH cause you can't sell Manne pieces on AH.
duh

I've just checked www.ffxiah.com for every server's listing of Mars Ring. According to their records, which I'm fairly sure can be counted on as accurate, not one single Mars Ring has ever been sold on the Jeuno based AH.

So there. No ring for you, one year.

(If one has been made, it's sitting in someone's private high security mog vault.)

Rare items are all sellable. It just depends on whether the AH lists it or not that you're able to place it up there. Rare only means you're only allowed to have one of them at a time (This includes Mog Safe, Locker, Storage).

If this isn't sellable, due to the RARE tag on it, then that means that Venerer Ring, the rings obtainable through Assault, and various other rings aren't sellable. But you see them on AH all the time, being sold every day.

SO, what conclusion do we draw from this? If this photo is correct, and I have faith it is, then this ring is sellable anyway you wanna sell it, unless somebody photo shopped it and hid an EX tag on it. The only thing you can't do is equip two of it. Just like Venerer, and the other rings I stated earlier. Though I have to confess I've never seen one on AH ... that leads me to believe that it is super hard to obtain. (Never saw anyone wearing one either.)

Now, could somebody explain it detail about the mobs that drop the items required to get this? Lvl, suggested number of ppl to take the mobs on to get the items, etc.

Your info is appreciated.
Not sellable ...
# Sep 05 2006 at 12:28 AM Rating: Default
lol thats because rare means that you can only have one of the item. (some black mage spells are rare)

you are thinking of an item being ex (or exclusive) which means you can only have it and you cannot sell/trade it.

Not sellable ...
# Aug 06 2006 at 4:00 AM Rating: Decent
Some Rare items can not be sold on the AH and this might be one as for Bazaar or anything else I don't know but I would think so any how Im just sayin regardless it is a sexy ring

as for how to get this ring you must get a Sin of Indolence which I have heard is a confirmed drop from the NM Absolute Virtue how ever it will probly take a full allience to kill AV, short for Absolute Virtue, which I am not sure if this NM has yet been killed with out using a cheat which SE does look for so I wouldn't try it and lvl 70+ on this one

AV has been taken down many times without usingthe cheat. A Few NA LSs have done it, cannot remember the servers or the LS names, but it has been done. Check out RKenshin's journal. Has a lot of info in there about everything.

As to the ring not being sellable via AH, this probably works on the same line as Kirin's Osode. Both, Kirin and AV, are end game mobs. Both drop things that are coveted. Similar maybe?

Mars's ring is not dropped from AV, it is dropped from a Jailer, last I heard anyways. Secondly, OP knew the difference between Rare and EX, EX means can never be traded or sold, Rare means you can only equip one, however sometimes Rare cannot be sold on AH, that part is what he was questioning.

Anyways, good luck finding the Jailer who drops this (Or whatever does). Info appreciated whenever someone does.

# Jun 09 2006 at 3:10 PM Rating: Default
You have to kill the Jailers to receive the different sins. Each Jailer will hold back one Virtue, until all are released into the form of Absolute Virtue.

Trade different sins to a guy in Tavnazia for these different rings and earrings as rewards.

Mars was a god, and several other Roman/Greek gods' names are in the game. So I would assume it is meant to be plural of the god.

...but wouldn't "The ring of Mars" still be possessive, hance the of, and be Mars' still?
RE: Grammar
# Jun 09 2006 at 3:03 PM Rating: Default
It's Mars's Ring.

The only time you use a s' is when you are using proper names from a Biblical context. So Jesus' Ring would be correct. Mars' Ring would not.

um... where did you get the idea that you only use an apostrphy at the end of a name if it is ONLY biblical.

Wow, this ring has some great stats to it!

So.. you have to kill some NM in Sea which drops the Sin of Indolence? Judging from the name, I'm guessing this is from one of those Jailer enemies?

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 10 2005 at 7:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This ring sucks. If you're that desperate for ATK/ACC at 75, there's other options, albeit not on the same ring, that are far easier to obtain.

It's about time that we all started talking about how uber this ring was and how to get this thing instead of having 20 posts on punctuation lol.

You pair this up with the CoP DD ring reward, and thats prolly the best DD ring set you can find.

BTW Doo, why don't you edit that post and remove what 'your friend' put in lol

Hey guess what! Both forms are correct. If a proper name ends in s, then you can indicate possession by using ' or 's. If you are writing, the only rule is to be consistant with what you pick.
Do a google search on apostrophe and possession. You'll get the resource pages for a lot of colleges writing departments and the ones I clicked on said both are acceptable.

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 04 2005 at 9:50 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey, guess what! I am a professional writer. The correct form is "Mars's Ring". Gallic was correct. It would only be "Mars' Ring" if it belonged to more than one Mars. Sorry to all of you idiots who only listened to half of what your 2nd grade teacher was telling you.

Either is acceptable. By typical English rules, the possessive for the singular name "Mars" is "Mars's". You would only use "Mars'" if the ring was that of more than one "mar" -- which it's not. However, an exception is often made for figures of the ancient world -- so it's "Moses'" or "Pythagoras'". It's a game world, though, so they don't necessarily have to be referring to our figure Mars, the Roman god of war.

It would *not* be "Mars'" because names that end in "s" have just an apostrophe for possessive and not an apostrophe-s. That's not a rule, it's a lie -- it's only true for plural words that end in "s".

# May 25 2006 at 5:45 PM Rating: Decent
Not butting into this "english" battle. However, they are referring to the God of War, ^_^

Either "Mars'" or "Mars's" is acceptable English for the plural form of "Mars".

"Mars's" is correct english, since we're talking about an item belonging to a single individual and not a group.

"Mars' Ring" would be the plural form of "a ring belonging to the Mars" as in a family name (Peter and Alice Mars).

"Mars's" ring would be the singular, if we're talking about an individual named Mars "a ring belonging to Mars"
RE: Mars's?
# Oct 04 2005 at 9:30 AM Rating: Default
LOL...you don't know English either. Mars's and Mars' are proper English. Mars is the root word, so you can't put an apostrophe between the r and s otherwise you are changing the word. Silly.... =P

I have to agree with fattucus.

Since when was a biped-resembling doll placed on display with a uniform set of clothes called a 'mannequin'; If we're going upon 'proper' terminology it would be manican.

All in all, it's a fantasy game, be it our fantasy or the fantasy world that the creators made, I'm happy that they share the fantasy with us. ^^
