Ok enough /w/ the arguing. I got one of these cloaks for 100k on gilgamesh server. When i used it, it recovered about 50mp. When in pts or pling I found it is useful as rdm when you dont have 40mp to refresh yourself or 1 mp to convert. For me as rdm, Being in a pt is realy demanding, usually i'm a main healer with blm or rdm with less mp for back up cures, and gotta refresh 3 mages(me,(mage),(mage).
And for a tip to save mp only focus haste on your nin or war/nin tank.If you dont have a nin or /nin
you could haste a pt member if your have mp/time.

As RDM, I tend to use equipment that allows me to wear a headpiece for MP. But this is looking to be a sweet piece of gear until I can actually get the Glamor Jupon. I use the MND for Paralyze and Slow, so it matters.

Any idea how much it sells for on other servers?

Aren't we supposed to be discussing the piece of gear? At least that is what i expected when i clicked on the link. Take your bickering about RDM to the RDM board if need be. This is not a place to discuss the ups and downs of RDM.

The Player makes the character
# Nov 06 2005 at 3:17 AM Rating: Decent
I heard this many ages ago. It isn't the job or race that makes the Character, its the player. If your good you will be respected in partys, if you suck big ones then you will just end up dead and maybe on a few peoples blacklist.

Well, I just bought 2 of these off of the AH and used one as a lvl 70 SMN in the middle of a Fenrir fight. I have about 900MP and I was down to about 60 or so when I equiped this. I used it and I ended up recieving about 70MP (I don't recall the actual number but it was close to 70). edit - the amount is closer to 50-55

It was the only time I used the cloak so I don't know if the MP recovered is random or a percentage or whatever. When I use one again I'll try and see and post back here.

- Well I have tried these a few more times and it seems I was off on my first post. These avarage about 50-55mp per use. Nothing special if you ask me.

BLM is for Enfeebling??? sorry to say this but to a IT mob at lvl60 or so i can't find a blm that would reliably stick paralyze or blind or stuff like that... yeah elementak debuffs are great... but for me as a pally paralyze is way better... >.< one miss > less heal > more mp > less downtime > blah blah blah... fortunately i'm in static atm and my rdm enfeebles really well so i can't complain... but what i wanted to say is that RDM should debuff besides refreshing/hasting/dispeling... the pt just needs to help eachother out...
Most RDMs agree with me... i believe o.O
Now about refresh... i hate ppl that keep saying {Refresh}{Please} when the rdm hasn't even had time to refresh himself >.< and imo a PLD has priority over a blm for refresh... u can sit and recover ur mp fast with Clear Mind and stuff... i can't recover during battle and my mp pool is small... imo refresh routine should be either RDM > WHM > PLD > BLM > other mp classes or RDM > PLD > WHM > BLM > and the others...

Allow me to give you insights into rdm being a 60 rdm myself. As a rdm your only job is to refresh and enfeeble. Sometimes the occasional mb can be worked in and a cure if something goes awry. Plain and simple, party leaders should realize this and most do. In a proper party whm can handle 1-2 hastes and thats about all the whm should have to hand out, and rarely does the whm run out of mp with constant refresh up, which is what the rdm should be doing. Blm has enfeebles but has no where near the enfeeble level of a rdm. Ive seen bad RDM's even post 50, but lets not bash rdm's they are a key part of most parties. Try being a Rdm before you start to bash them, next to brd they have one of the busiest jobs in a party.
blm enfeeble.?

the BLM is for enfeebleing

Ya cuz that happens. Last I checked that was the RDM job...
I agree though, as a 59RDM, if you aren't casting spells, you aren't going to get Refresh outta me. I start off each fight with slow paralyze, blind and whatnot, usually your refresh is already there from before, then I pick up when it wears. I hardly ever run low on MP unless I really need to back up cure, other than that I usually split the haste with the WHM, enfeeble, refresh and MB. But that's just me.

Good rdm are hard to find, and I like Ballad<s> or juice over crappy rdm anytime.

if you are above 85% mp and are not casting spells please dont demand refresh and call us crappy RDMs when we dont refresh you. RDM has the most spells that need to be cast with the smallest mana pool (other than PLD and DRK). Yes we do have convert, but we dont usually get to take a knee because when you have four people to refresh, two to haste, a mob to enfeeble, a WS to burst on, and people to heal, the Refresh ALLWAYS ends right after the battle and you finally finish recasting as the puller is on their way back with another.

Please stop yelling, dont tell us we suck and dont kick us from party for not refreshing your hapopy paladin bum when youre not casting, your refresh will come when you cast your first spell.

well your obviously not too bright either if u think a blm is for enfeebling becuz spells like frost and drown are elemental magic and personally as a lvl 74 rdm i'll tell u first hand my enfeebling magic is capped at 258 with af boyd and afv2 gloves boosting it to 288 which wud pretty much throw ur incorrect fact out the window that blm is for enfeebling, however rdm shud only heal maybe 10% of the time if there is a whm or designated healer whichc shud only be the 10% of the time that the healer is unable to perform their duty... and a rdm can MB if the pt is running smoothly however it is a waste for a rdm to constantly nuke in a pt becuz our nukes do about 10-30% less dmg than the blm's spell but mb's are still worthwhile if done early on in the fight.

oh yea and it is more efficient to have the rdm haste between refreshes to save whm MP and casting time between cures... casting haste between refresh makes up for the down time between refresh recast timers so u can consecutively cast refresh >>> haste >>> refresh >>> haste without stopping between casting. appearantly from your knowledge of the job u are definately not experienced in it because if u were u wudnt criticise the writer of the previous comment

I tried this out in a party the other day, I found it to be pretty useful IF you were unable to find a Red Mage for the party. It helps with minimizing downtime for the White Mage, however, I find that at level 50+, you should already be in a well structured party with a Red Mage that should take the place of this cloak. Still a fine replacement for the White Cloak if you want the extra mana and its good for emergency situations.

Good rdm are hard to find, and I like Ballad<s> or juice over crappy rdm anytime. Oddly it says recover mp- Does that mean recover all mp or some mp over time, and what is the duration. As a taru with a lot of mp I spend many an hour in heal mode. If it recovers all mp it could come in handy (esp if it was instant like level up) when making chains, or when near a level up and looking at downtime. would also be good for timed battles like avatar fights depending on how the recover mp works.

I like RDMs as much as the next mage, but I also prefer BRD, simply because then I can use drinks to boost my recovery that much more. However, don't get paranoid. RDMs post 41 will have a party slot. Also, if you are having to haste that many people, either the WHM isn't doing enough (try asking in /t if he/she can pick up at least one haste, they should have plenty of mp for it) or you need to evaluate if everyone you are hasting really needs it. Sometimes it's not worth the 40 mp.

Where did he said RDMs are bad or suck? Just my observation. Learn to read before you bash anyone. ;p

Well, in English, words like "crappy" and "bad", especially when before a noun, are called "adjectives". Now, an adjective describes the noun it precedes for the most part.
Since you used "bad or suck" in your sentence in the way that you did, I'll assume that you understand what a synonym is.

With that said, I'm pretty sure the term "crappy rdm" (rdm = RDM if that's the part that confused you) implies that Red Mages are "bad or suck".
RE: High Mana Cloak vs. a Red Mage

I don't know, maybe i was the only one who read it, but he also used the adjective 'good'. Forgive me for making sense, but the words 'crappy' and 'bad' may just be describing the playing ability of people that have been in his parties, which would explain why he said that good rdms were hard to find. So next time, before you decide to be a smartass, please don't be confused, just remember that people may make mistakes and leave out an 'a' every now and then. Alternatively, in case you havent heard slang in a while, some people leave out words and letters when they use forums and other such forms of internet communication, which would explain why people have many gramatical errors in their posts, and also why acronyms such as 'lol' or 'stfu' have developed. In many cases, it isn't because they aren't intelligent or because they don't know the grammar, but often times because they simply do not think that people will expect them to write perfectly.

I always thought people used those acronyms because they were lazy. That's why I use them. Everytime someone says something funny I don't want to type out "I'm laughing out loud" when I can type lol (which is laugh out loud or something) which pretty much means the same thing. And stfu is somewhat more polite than actually saying "Shut the **** up". 'Cause I'll type stfu... but I won't type it out. Notice the asterisks ^_^
Just my 2 gil. Dont bash on me >.> Or my lvl 41 Rdm (That's ironic)
