just wanna say, don't let these stats make you think this is an upgrade in accuracy, because it's not. i used this as monk in the high 40-early 50's with a full accuracy build (minus a pcc) and mobs still conned IT high def. i switched to Sole and magically mobs started conning IT low eva.

Well dork... if you are looking at defense, then you aren't thinking accuracy, that's "high evasion". "high defense" means your attack score is low. Of course sole sushi would give you an attack bonus so the IT "high defense" would become just IT. This game is ruled by newbs now.

Anyway, take a look at your attack score without gear on. That's about equal to your accuracy "hidden" score +/- the differences between your STR and DEX. This food is good for someone who is around 80-110 accuracy base. After that, it is overshadowed by better food. But leveling from 21 to say 35 on this is fine and cheap, but be sure to compensate by putting on lots of attack up and STR gear.

Yeah, it's level 58, but you need to get the key item "Raw fish handling" from the guild point merchant. Or else, I'm pretty sure the synt wouldn't work :-/

If you compensate for the lower acc cap these, they still be pretty good. A WAR with Fighter's Calligae, Warrior's Cuisses, subbing NIN and using Ridill/Joyeuse combo in a spam PT would be damn scary.

This is garbage for warrior. Str > all other stats. And Warrior's Cuisses and Fighter's Calligae don't stack. Warrior's Cuisses add an extra check to see if you double attack; Fighter's Calligae add an extra, flat 5% bonus to double attack.

So technically they are both being used, therefore sort of stacking with eachother to boost overall double attack...

is there a way to find out the spicifics on this food? Like if there's a cap, at what skill level. Also how much does the HQ version give?

There's another food that came out with *lower* acc than the sushi norm. (Ikra Gunkan with 13% acc). Usually when SE gives us food with unexplained weaker stats its because it has a higher cap. Does anyone know if Ikra Gunkan could potentially give more acc than sole/squid/whatever sushi?

This food's accuracy caps significantly lower than Squid/Sole, enough to the point that it is absolutely worthless to use when you hit the upper 60s, if not earlier. This food would be idea to use at very low levels, i.e. 1-50, due to the added double attack, and the higher percent increase.
Ikra Gunkan could potentially give more acc, but I haven't tested it at all.

Tried this out in KRT bone party as Mnk. Things still checked normal evasion to me using it, didn;t really notice an increase in double Attack. After it wore I switched back to sole, everything low evasion, and good hit rate. It's probably like other foods and high percent but a considerably lower cap, probably better for 30-50.

It has 8% more acc+ though I think.

And the double attack+1% gives you double attack, even if you don't have it. (granted, at 1% activation, as opposed to the 20?% from a war sub) But can you imagine double attack going off on SATA spinning slash? (I think that's a one hit ws for 1.2k damage. Double attack would make it have 2 hits, so one hit for 1.2k and one for what? 800? 800 free damage?)

EDIT: 3% more acc+.

But it's still a 12 level lower synth, and considerably cheaper due to cone calamary's low level fish status, and the fact that they pretty much jump into your pack to say hello.

VS Squid

Why use this over Squid Sushi? the 1% double attack? definitely not worth the loss of more dex/agi
O.o
