It say Anima, i know u use those in the promy quest, im guessin it just makes better of what the anime already do in CoP chapter 1 missions, but i could be wrong.... ^^
I think you're being confused by the two different categories of 'Anima'; no surprise, when CoP first came out it was confusing to all.
What you're thinking of are the three Rare (can only have 1 of each at a time) and Exclusive (can't trade or sell) special Animas that you obtain by getting the correct RA/EX items, then trading that and some gil to the NPC in Jeuno Ru'lude Gardens back by Maat. He will give you the Psychoanima, Hysteroanima and/or Terroanima depending on what item(s) you traded him. These are the ones that if used while you're targeting a Promy mob or boss, will affect it (corresponding to which one you used) and help defeat the mob.
That's different from these Animas.
There are also the 8 elemental memories (not, RA/EX and they evenstack) that are obtained as drops by killing Promy mobs.
The type of memory dropped is based on the element of the mob, which can be determined by coloration on many Empty mobs. These are the items that are used to make the Animas used in crafting, and have nothing to do with the three used against Promy/ENM bosses, NMs, etc.
