Urrrrr what the feck are you talking about? This item is new to Allakhazam, not the game...I have seen a couple of people on Kujata wearing this before the update you are talking about...
And people having multiple jobs at LVL75 has nothing at all to do with this topic...

War with full double attack merits/gear, and given that double attack is ours to begin with and so inherently already a % there to increase on...is going to just destroy with this. Sorry, ladies, but this earring or not, you ain't going to touch a fully merited/geared war in double attack...just nice to know that War will be able to take advantage of this most. About time something oriented to our ability came in play.;

Wars are amazing DD's endgame, and this adds greatly to their ******** They're not undefeatable gods, however. While this item is great for warriors, This doesn't give warrior any advantage over other jobs. All jobs wearing this earring will get the increase in double-attacks, even without war main or war sub. My endgame thief has outparsed and underparsed warriors. Just yesterday I outparsed a WAR clad in the best gear, swapping hauberk for osode for ws, etc.

Sorry, but thief gets triple attack, not double attack. Not only that, but an AF2 and Homam Corazza both add triple attack. Triple attack can also be meritted to 5% like double attack. We can throw on Brutal and Suppanomimi, and equip other homam pieces that warrior can't equip, giving us more or as much haste as a good warrior. We gain TP faster, too. Blau Dolch(178 Delay)/Sirocco Kukri(150 Delay) or Hornetneedle(150)/Sirocco FTW. Obviously THF owns in TP-Gain though our DOT suffers more. But can our WS's match? TA+Dancing Edge will consistently outmatch Rampage on people with similarly good gear, every time. The only thing you guys have over other classes is amazing Axe DOT.

Actually, it does. WAR's base percentage for double attack is in the 10~13% range. This would bring it up to 15~18. Very big difference, With 18% DA rate, you will have a big advantage over all jobs. Combine WAR AF boots, AF2 legs, and good merits you would have a extremely powerful combo.

Let me show you..

Base 13% + 10% from merits (if you decide to put it all into DA), the 2~5% from AF boots, 5% from brutal, and rumored 5% from AF2 legs (no one really knows how much it gives) That's 35~38% DA rate.. thats a damn alot of double attacks..

Oh really? If he truly had "the best gear" there's no way on earth you could outparse him unless you had a relic or something.

You have no idea how powerful a WAR can be. Personally, i've never seen a THF break much more then 1,200 with dancing edge. Some of the best WARs can do 1,500-1,800 consistantly on Ts and VTs. Occasionly on ITs too.

Well then, what about those massive raging rushes or rampages we put out? Oh, don't forget about our ability to tank while in full attack gear. Well sure, we can't tank forever, but any competent person can block quite a few hits.

I can possibly see that levels before 75 on certain mobs, possibly.. but at endgame that's not the case. I'm sorry, but I just can't see you putting out such massive numbers. Even with that hetacomb harness you still wont have nearly the STR, ATK and such to mach a WAR's.

Honestly, I rarely ever see THFs in my parties anymore. There's a reason why they aren't invited. No one likes them, plain and simple.

I shouldnt' even compare my WAR to your THF. It's just not right. You're a puller, hate management and spike damage, while i'm a bounce tank, hard hitter and a killer with the WS. It's like comparing fruits with meats.

With that being said, go on, keep making this stuff up. You're one of those people who thinks you're better then everyone else. Get it through your thick skull of yours, you aren't!

i am sorry to ay but my friend will out damage most warriors.. but not all ..
she out damages most warriors on her war using dagger .. ( highest Evisceration on her war is 2500, on her 72 thf is 3k.... + with the dagger update they out DoT axes.. it is insane to watch... but she also has some sic gear... but like i said she is really rare... most ppl do 2 things.. they think wars are too weak... and same with thf... it is just the fact that both CAN do massive damag, but most ppl dont play them right...either way both are a fun job to play so play them and enjoy...
1 last thing thfs can make the best tanks

Goblinfisher, I think you've just made the fundamental mistake most folks do when considering percentage changes. They see that a percentage of a larger number is greater than a percentage of a smaller number and then jump to the (wrong) conclusion that the gain is more for the larger number case. It's not. This is the key thing to remember:

Percentage dps gains are the same for everyone.

If you start with two equal players -- one on THF one on WAR -- and add the brutal earing to both of them, they will still be equal. You can substitute any melee jobs in for that statement. Never mind how it happened that they're equal in overall DPS, each gains by the same percent. It's even true if they're not equal. If one person beats another by 10% and you add brutal to both players, you get the same thing. First still beats second by only 10%. The leader doesn't gain any more of a lead on the other guy than he already had.

Now if the ear had some extra gain that only applies to a particular job, like say "enhances axe weaponskills", then you could definitely say it helps one job more than others. But, it doesn't. It's just a flat percent increase for everyone.

BTW, I've seen THFs out-DD WARs. Top THF will out-dd a Top WAR in an XP party. The thing is an Average THF totally sucks compared to an Average War. Also, it's really hard to make a top THF. It's far harder than making even a semi-top war. This is why THFs don't get groups. Unless you know the person well and know his gear, chances are damn good that the unknown war you see is a hell of a lot better than the unknown thf.

THF is also a TP-machine and not just for himself. He'll feed insane TP to the mob. I *hate* this part of grouping with THFs. Doesn't matter how much subtle blow they have, it's like hand-feeding icarus wings to the critter.

Albeit it indirect and a bit convoluted, I think he was mainly talking about TP gain. And I wouldn't down play thief so much. You make a good point they are different, but you have the underlying assumption that warrior is better then thief in the long run. Thiefs actually can do some pretty amazing damage, especially when you put all that hate on the war to tank for a bit, or just have the war voke while you do it on the main tank. Either way, he made a very obvious point that thief will make many many more swings then a warrior. Which like you mentioned was a pretty pointless observation to make. It would be pretty amusing to watch a thf/nin or thf/war with all the haste, DA, and TA gear swing with a succico (sp) and/or hornetneedle.

This earring is obtained by trading 75 Ancient Beastcoins to Sagheera in Port Jeuno. Note that you must have Al'Taieu access to even get her to talk to you.

The earring has been parsed and shown to improve Double Attack rate by 5%. You do not need to sub WAR for this earring to work. Yes, this means you can go /THF and still get Double Attack (albeit a gimped version of it).

That said, with this and merited Kick Attacks, my TP gain as a MNK is through the roof; it's one hell of an earring. Highly recommended for melees and meleeing mages alike.
