Do you need holiday fame to get the dream robe?

I got all three furniture items from each nation, but the three times afterwards I /cheered the treant I only got Brilliant snow. I just have the Dream Hat+1 from 2004, can it be that I need the normal version???

I cannot find any clules in here and wanted to know if someone had a simmilar problem!?

-Millerovieunet (J-12), right above the Woods Auction House. Male Elvaan; pretty sure he's a Regional Vendor.
-Quesse (K-12), inside the Chocobo Stables. Female Elvaan; Stable Vendor

So far that's all I know. I'll edit if I find more.
Confused

The order in which I received the items were: Dream coffer, Dream stocking, Dream robe, Dream platter. I've done the same quest 3 more times and no Dream Robe+1. Going to keep trying in Sandy til I get it >.<!!

I got the robe+1 right after this post. Now on to the hat+1 good luck everyone.

Holiday Items Guide
# Dec 21 2006 at 7:47 PM Rating: Decent
I have managed to get all the Christmas items for this year 2006. It is absolutely possible to get most of them in just one nation. I myself managed to get them in Bastok rather quickly (My home nation is Bastok).

The Dream Hat you can simply buy at any of the holiday shops located in each nation. Locations are Port Bastok (L-8), Northern San d'Oria (D-8), and Windurst Waters (G-10). The hats and the Christmas trees are 10k each. (Its the easiest item to get).

To get the Dream robe you must buy a Dream hat and participate in the festival event. There is an NPC in each nation that will give you both the Presents and the Treant mini-quests (I dont know the name of the quest or if it even has one). NPCs are respectively in Bastok Markets (G-9), Northern San d'Oria (J-9), and Windurst Woods (H-11). (Oddly enough these guys are all near fountains). There is also a Twinkling Treant that spawns in the same area. Treant locations are Bastok Markets (E-11), Northern San d'Oria (F-7), and Windurst Woods (H-8). The treant spawns twice each Van'diel day and all you have to do is follow cheering it on (I have no idea why you have to cheer it on). He will slowly make himself towards the NPC's location with a moogle on his track trying to fend him off. Once he gets to the NPC and he dissapears talk to the NPC. They will tell you how scarry it was and explain to you about the "Fake" smilebringers in the city. Simply locate the "Fake" smilebringer which appears in a different place each time the Treant spawns (The imposters have red hat like yours). Once you find him go back and talk to the NPC to collect your price. The first time you complete this task you will get a Moghouse item which is different in each nation. The item for Bastok is Dream Coffer, San d'Oria is Dream Platter, and Windurst is Dream Stocking. If you repeat the event again then your prize is the Dream robe. Do it one more time and you get the Dream robe +1 (I personally like to go the extra mile for the HQ versions). If for some chance you want to keep going you also get ten Brilliant Snow fireworks each time after that.

If you want to get the Dream hat +1 you will have to invest a little more time into it. To save time you can do this alongside the treant mini-quest in between the treant spawns (I myself did it while travelling to the three nations collecting each unique item). As I have stated above the NPCs also hand out the presents. You get one present each Van'diel day. Trade the present to any child to start building up fame. Remember to have your Dream hat equipped otherwise the children will not accept your present. Once you have build up enough fame you will get a present from your moogle saying he found it under your Christmas tree. The NPC should say, "The children love you! Even I think you're great!" when you have it full. It should take about 5-6 presents for you to max out your fame. Then wait one day and the moogle will give you your present. You should probally buy a tree before this if you haven't already. When you get your present simply go outside and open it up to get your Dream hat +1. Also make sure you dont use the teleport service as this will use up some of your fame and will cause you to need to deliver more presents to max it out.

Well thats basically it to getting all your items. It should take you a couple of hours if you want to get all the holiday items. In Bastok there are four locations where the "fake" smilebringers appear. They are Belizieg (E-8), Olwyn (E-11), Peritrage (F-10), and Harmodios (K-10). I didn't spend enough time in the other nations to find out their spawn locations (I am loyal to Bastok afterall). If you do a quick shout for their locations I'm sure someone would be happy to help (Although in San d'Oria it was a little tougher to find any help). I dont think it matters how many times you cheer the Twinkling Treant as long as you cheer it at least onces before is dissappears. Cheering the Nomad Moogle does absolutely nothing except that you have to wait until the next spawn time for the NPC to appear (Trust me I convinced people to help me do it). It will vary in how long it takes you to get your HQ Dream hat, depending on if you got your tree last year, if you participated last year, ect. Also if you do collect the Moghouse items from each nation you do get a special food gift from each of them. So far I've gotten Black Pudding and Gateau aux fraises (Waiting on what I get from the Dream platter). I did write most of this while I was doing the event (I will edit any new info as needed).

If you like this guide or you found it usefull rate me up! (Otherwise dont do a thing)

In each of the starting cities, a Twinkling Treant appears somewhere near the big Christmas tree in either Northern San d'Oria, Bastok Markets, or Windurst Woods.

When the Twinkling Treant appears, target it and /cheer at it. Do that at least once, but you can as many times as you want. When the Treant disappears, talk to the Smile Bringer and they'll ask you to find a fake. A "fake" is an NPC that is wearing a santa hat. It's random each time the treant appears, so you have to either look around or ask someone if they've found it.

You'll get a different gift each time you do this. Bastok gives a Dream Coffer, San d'Oria gives a Dream Platter, and Windurst gives a Dream Stocking.

Now, the 4th time you do this, after obtaining the other 3 items, do it again and you'll get the Dream Robe. I did it one more time, for a 5th time, in my starting city and got the Dream Robe +1.

The treant seems to appear twice a day. Around 3:00 Vana'diel time and around 16:00 Vana'diel time.
how do i get this?

For those who haven't worked it out, the reason why the Dream Hat +1 dispenses cookies, and the Dream Robe +1 enhances milk effects has something to do with Santa and what he likes...
Look for them..

The storage NPCs are in the game already, I have all of my event items but the Dream Hat +1 stored there. Look around, they're easy enough to find..
dream robe?
# Dec 27 2005 at 11:52 AM Rating: Default
well this was probably the most useless thing I've ever quested, lol. It might be that my lowest job is 15, but I can't even remember ever using selbina milk in the years I've played this game. There are things with much better defense than this as well.

if you are going to make a special event, at least give us something we can use at any level. I like the trick staffs and the treat staffs. Even latent affect warp is great with higher lvl rdm. Convert then latent affect warp. Why give us things we have to store at a seperate NPC.

c'mon now...

The HQ robe makes Selbina milk last for another 10 HP, so one bottle restores a total of 50 HP over time. Not sure if it affects milk's healing HP bonus.

I have both the normal version and the +1 version, so I'm a bit confused here.
What do you meen somthing that you can were at any lvl?

Both gear are lvl 1 gear and for all jobs.

he/she probably mean many event items (armor, weapons, etc) are useless after lvl 5-10, and it's better to get better items for use at middle/high lvls, like Trick Staff II (10 Warp charges), Treat Staves (with Warp too) or Stable teleport stuff (i think warp & teleport stuff are always useful if you're not a WHM or BLM)

LOL I don't know what SE was thinking when they came up with this quest, but it was ridiculous. Getting the regular robe was easy enough, but the +1 was a different matter. I gave up after a while simply because I kept trying to find lvl 50+ players and most of them don't hang out in the starting cities. Yeah it woulda been great to get both of them, but oh well, it's just gonna take up another spot in my inventory that I can use for something else.
