Flawless ribbon
# Jun 20 2008 at 6:36 PM Rating: Decent
Hello guys n girls,

Flawless ribbon; tried and tested on white mage during EGLS events and farming on THF.

One thing to note about status effects and which ones, this ribbon increases resistance to ALL status ailments and for a list of these try ffxiclopedia it has a nice section.

Also note 30 Darkness and 30 Light def makes a lot of dif too, I've also tested this piece with my existing armor;

THF - Darkness def +50 light +30 water +20 other macro pieces where used depending on the debuff

WHM - +30 Darkness + 30 Light + 9 Water INT + 20 MND +45 and again macro sets for other debuff, Kirins pole being one (another must for whm)

When wearing this i resisted more than previous with Sleep/Lullabye or if not resisted it lasts far less than it used to
Bio, Dia and other DoT effects have never been resisted or no to effect but again sometimes it will pop right off or lasts a few seconds again less than they used to.

Most notable;
Bind/Gravity on thf - no effect and resisted more
Breakga/petrify on whm - only lasts a few seconds

So taking the above into consideration i think this piece of armor is well worth the 150 coins personally a must for EG White Mages and to get the best out of it just set up macros for the debuff to stack up the def i.e ice - paralyse drk - bio, sleep, CHR - charm etc, Barspells also magnify the chance of resist or to no effect and whilst most of you are prob thinking ya like we already know that, this piece definitly cuts down the time or if your job has that trait already you will def resist more.

Killer effect - never intimidated anything unless stacked with Bibiki shell - aquan killer, Garlic crackers - undead killer, ginger cookie - lizzard killer etc
I read somewhere that this actually gives all killer effects but i've yet to see it, but I do intimidate more than used to with just the ammo piece or the foods mentioned, again most notable being skeletons gustav tunnel Even match - T's intimidated those easily twice as much as i used to on whm/nin.

Hope this helps and ill post anything further finding in the future ^^d

Does this Ribbon increase resistance against status effects like Defense Down, INT Down, etc? If you know, please let me know ^^
Killer Proc
# Mar 18 2007 at 3:42 PM Rating: Decent
I got this a while back, and been using it alot on my BST and WHM, one thing I have noticed is that with this on, status effects only stay on for merely seconds, if it even gets through. Watching Jorm sometimes his para wing move wouldn't even paralyze me. This is a very nice ribbon just for the status effect resistance. Very well worth the 150 ancient beastcoins it costs.

Now, for the Killer effect rate. It seems to be more than 1%. My beastmaster killer setup has the AF+1 pants, Lv.50 ring (for under 76% HP). Tatami Shield, Flawless Ribbon, and Temperance Axe/Torque for the CHR, and capped killer merits. As well as random filler for other slots. Carrying Jug Pets of the opposing creature type for what you are kiteing/attempting to intimidate, and popping them just to hit Killer Instinct, and depop them, increases it to what seems to be 10% increase. Killer effects proc at an unimaginable rate.

Though taking off the Ribbon with the same setup, it doesn't proc anywhere near the calibur I have seen with it on. So, it may be more than 1%.

Also, on WHM when I wear this (and mind you WHM has no killer traits. And for the random dumbass to flame me, no having 5/5 killer does not carry to whm...) I've intimidated RDM's wearing crimson, at times 2~3 times in a row. As well as intimidate mobs when they turn. As weak as a Tahrongi bunny, to Jormungand.

This is just what I have noticed with this ribbon. Hope this helps anyone in their purchase. I would splurge for it, it's definately worth the 150 AB.
proc rate?

I'm a PLD. PLDs has a Job Ability of resistance to the Undead, not Beast, or Empties.

When I farm buffalo, I use the Koenig Shield. The Koenig Shield, Def:22 VIT:5 CHR:5
Enhances Beast Killer Effect Enmity: 3.
I intimadate them 3-6+X per fight.

When I farm in the Prom,s I use my Shade gear that has Enhances Empty Effect, that intimadates, once in a while. Gear sucks for that.

In Final Fanasy Tactics, there's a
RIBBON:
20HP/Immune to Dead/Undead/Petrify/Darkness
/Invite/Frog/Slow/Silence/Poison/Berserk
/Bloodsuck/Confusion/Frog,

Wrong there.. Not every job has a job trait.. only a handful and 2nd they DO show up with job traits.
DRG = Dragon Killer
DRK = Arcana Killer
SAM = Demon Killer
PLD = Undead Killer
BST = ALMOST everything else.

The only question on this is will it take after the Tatami Shield or not (only enhancing whats already there like the jobs listed above or everything regardless of job). 2ndly it says all status ailments. Most if not all jobs have a resistance to a status ailment.

PLD = Sleep
THF = Gravity
DRK = Paralysis and ect

Same debate. Will it increase whats already there or will it give all. It seems that sleep will be hard to put on someone with this.. Dark Magic resist and status ailments... on a PLD good god.

It says "INCREASES resistance to ALL status ailments"
So it doesn't enhance the job trait resistances but just increases all your resistances like scorpion breasplate for example increases resistance against poison and so on...

As a side note, it seems that this would make you much harder to be put to sleep (reliably), as it has the +30 vs Dark (BLM Sleep) and Light (BRD Lullaby) in addition to the status effect bonus. Could be nice in Ballista o.O

We all have killer traits, the only reason we don't naturaly intimidated is couse there not enhanced.

So...
Since we all don't have Dual weild, ta-da! It's not that complicated but the Enhance killer effects from this should act like Tatmi Shield.

This peice seems awsome! I want it once I get Duelist's Tobard.

Increase resistance to all status ailments is useful for poison, gravity and all those icons you get at the top of the screen. Maybe even intimidate I'm not sure.

I only have one question. How powerful is the resistance to status ailments?
The Good ol times

Remember in other FF games there was an item that granted immunity to ALL status ailments? In FFVII i believe you could turn a Toneberry into one from inside the crater. The infamous RTIBBON.
hmm

i think it gives resistance to spells such as poison and bind not the elemental magic like thunder & fire.

Best example I can give. This is fact, not opinion.

Hachiman Jinpachi (or whatever the headpiece is.)
Double Attack +2%
I was SAM/thf. No double attack trait. But I double-attack'ed while fighting with this on, and it wasn't Zanshin, because the attacks didn't miss.

There doesn't need to be an existing job trait for it to be enhanced. Empty killer, for example. But, Supp. earring is different, because you /can't/ dual wield without the job trait, so you can't possibly enhancing something you can't possibly do.

Snowknight is in my linkshell and I didn't even know he had this. What kind of info do you want to know?

Crafted or Dropped?
If Crafted, Recipie?
If Dropped, what NM, Where, re-pop time, etc.
Does the "Killer" give all effects like Tatami shield or only the ones you already have?

Basically, anything and everything. ^.^

It says "Enhances" killer effects... So I'd assume that it improves traits you already have. That's just speculation, though.
RE: Wow
# Jan 22 2006 at 10:41 AM Rating: Excellent
Actually "Enhances" will add the effect if you don't have it.

Which is why traits like "Empty killer" from shade armor actually works. (Its not an actual job trait)

however, its hard to say since the armor is not very clear, but i doubt if SE would change a rule for armor for one piece.

What you stated was not a rule. Its not even true for all currently existing armor.

The item Suppamimi "enhances" dual weild by giving you 5% increase in weapon attack speed if you dual weild, but it does not give you the effect of dual weild if you don't have it.

The flawless ribbon has been out for a long time now, it is only new to allahkazaam. In the case of the flawlesss ribbon it does actually give you the killer traits just like the Tatami Shield, but there's no reason to assume that all "Enhances" will do that because it simply already is not true.

Duel Weild is not a Killer Trait.

Dont the Earrings that Decrease one Killer Trait, Enchance another actually give you that killer trait?!?!?!

yes, but that doesn't mean that every "Enhances..." gives you the trait it enhances as i showed with the example of Suppamimi which does not give dual weild even though it "enhances dual weild". i'm not sure why you confused dual weild with a killer trait though... that's just odd.

Suppanomimi gives mod "Enhances dual wield effect".
Shade armor gives mod "Empty Killer" (note, not 'enhances Empty Killer effect') <.< This item should not be used as an example because it does actually give the effect, not enhances it.

It is true that the majority of gear that enhances an effect WILL GIVE that effect to a job that might not normally have it. Suppanomimi is an exception.

However, there are items like Rostrum Pumps (enhances Fast Cast) that will give that trait to other jobs. A list should be made of equipment that will and will not give all jobs the trait being enhanced.

Also, it may be laziness on the programmers' part, but there is a lot of inconsistency about the text description for many of these 'enhances' items. Mysterious quotation marks and the almost arbitrary use of the word 'effect/s'. The word effect/s is sometimes used, sometimes not, when it would seem to be equally applicable. Any ideas or theories on this?
