synthing and the factors to success
# Aug 14 2006 at 7:14 AM Rating: Decent
I've heard that the elemential resistnces of you gear can effect synthing and the direction your facing can also effect synthing. Also I have tested it and the element of and power of your moghansment effects synthhing. For more info on elements pertaining to there weeknessess and strengths and their corresponding directions you can find NPC's in Northern Sandy and the directionial info can be attained from an NPC in windurst waters. I beleave that the most powerful influence on synthing is the phase in which the moon is in, but it all adds up and you can (if your smart) stack the deck in your favor. Good luck everyone.
failure sucks

i failed this de-synth no less than 16 times in a row with advanced synth support. it was lightningsday at about quarter moon. i was clothcrafter 10 at the time, did i do something wrong or should i write this one off as an anomoly?

It caps at 19 alright...
I just synthed up 45 stacks of Flax Flowers.
Went from lvl 10 clothcraft, up to 19.
I had 8 stacks of Flax Flowers remaining once
I hit lvl 19.
I synthed them up as well and NOT ONE skill up.
But that doesn't matter, I needed them for
making linen cloth so. ^^

I've tested it quite a bit. The cap for this definitely IS 19. Not 20.

Please correct it.
Level cap 19
# Sep 16 2004 at 11:09 PM Rating: Default
I'm gonna say it is a level 19 skill cap.
I was using this to level, (since I need it in almost everything) and at level 19 it stopped giving me skill ups. Curious, I decided to test it. 6 stacks later, not even a 0.1 skill up.

I agree, testing the other way (looking for when I started skilling on breaks). I started crafting this at level 11, immediately started getting skill ups on breaks as soon as I hit level 14. (trust me, I had plenty breaks before I got to 14 to check on this)

The rule is, no skill ups allowed when you're over 5 levels away from the cap, so this leads me to also believe the level cap of this is 19.

I synthed 5 stacks of flax flowers after I hit 19 with no skill ups. So I also agree that the cap is not 20 but 19.
SKILLCAP is "atleast" 19

I was getting skillups all the way to lvl 18, not a cap of 16. I haven't tested beyond 18, so I don't know if that is the real cap or if its higher. I'll let ya know once I have more funds to invest.

Haven't read the entire thread, and have just noticed someone else was able to get to 19 without hitting the cap

I took Linen Thread from Clothcraft 10 to 19 last night. Things certainly got easier at 16 and beyond, but 19 was achieved and it wasn't even slow either--I think it was because I was crafting on Earth Day: I kept getting .2 skillups and rather frequently.

After coming back from a harvesting run, I decided to try making some flax flowers into thread, since I was at skill 17 and it's listed as a 16 cap here. On the first synth I got the message:

Caderyn's clothcraft skill has risen by 0.1 points.
Caderyn's clothcraft skill is now 18.

On subsequent synths I continued to gain, but quickly ran out of flax since I was just working with what I was able to harvest. Conclusion: The skill cap for this recipe must be at least 19.
minimum level?
# Jan 13 2004 at 1:08 PM Rating: Default
I don't know how the guild NPCs determine what recipe to tell you, but the one that gives advanced synth support told me I could make flax thread from flax flowers and lightning crystals at 9 (recruit) clothcraft.

I actually made some at Level 11, with high % success. I don't know what the minimum is, but it isn't 16.

It's a big problem with how Allakhazam has it set up, these numbers sometimes try to represent the max skill you can gain from making these items. Even so in this case it's still wrong since I was still getting skill ups from making linen threads until skill level 19.

the number is not minimum but MAXIMUM, they are not accurate but close to the truth especialy when you get higher in skills

Does anything drop this? And is there any beastman item that can be synthesized into Linen Thread?
