I picked some of these up thinking they'd be a very small healing boost, like 20-30HP a pop, but I was curious to try them out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they healed 110HP, but a bit disappointed to find myself medicated.

But after finding out that the medicated status only lasted a couple of minutes, I got over the disappointment pretty quickly. On their own, these are of limited use, but when paired with other healing potions they become much more effective. You still want to use regular Hi-potions for when you need to fill up quickly, but having a stack of these in your inventory can stretch your potion supply a little bit further. Use a drop first before dipping into your potions, so that the medication timer is running down.

I personally carry a stack with me now wherever I go, so I have a quick bit of healing if I need it, but I don't have to clutter my inventory.
be reasonable

there is a 5 min medicated effect on these with an extra 10 hp you get 110 I know that isn't much but 10 extra hp might get you dar enough away to loose aggro think long and hard before denouncing these viably useful additions as well as mages for thier WHAM MP boost might just won your fight.

Keep the ignorance, I don't mind. These things move extremely fast on the AH, some days. Good, quick and easy way to make 6-digits.
sigh

ok for all those who complain OMFG your retarded

Do you really think the game would be balanced if SE made non medicated status stackable pots and hi pots

ppl could run around with 9000hp recovery doesnt that seem alittle broken?
Go Maat!
# Mar 26 2006 at 4:17 PM Rating: Decent
Yeah used these in my Maat fight..... thing was.... i had just sold back my 3 hi-potions i had from previous Maat fight and got these since they stacked. Jump into the battle did all necessary prep, hit maat once, zerged up, raging rush, icarus wing, raging rush, impaction never connected by the way..... didnt notice maat 2 houred until the second hit.... went to use my hi-potion drop...... NOTHING!! i end up losing before i could get enough TP for another raging rush which would've won the fight. If i had normal hi-potions i would have won the fight... I think these are awesome if you have a few bottles of hi-potion to back it up... but due to the fact that i was already medicated from my icarus wing.... i couldnt even use one drop >.>
Little too easy

If these things didn't have medicated status, you'd see high-level Alchemist running around in multi-million gil equipment, simply from farming Malboro Vines and field-synthing them into this item.

The speed at which Hi-pots sell are just insane, but the only thing that stops us from killing the market, is that we have to have a ton of mules, and lots of free inventory space to run this market. Neither vines or pots stack, so you can maybe have 50 Hi-pots selling at once for 5K a piece.

If you could bring home stacks of 12, in 10-20 inventory spaces, then toss them up at the AH and have them sell in minutes, plus have free AH space to put other gil synths up, you can do the math, and just imagine what this would do for Alchemists.

SE never makes anything easy ^-.-^

I used a stack of these on my BST (lvl21). Personally I think they work well for a Beast Master since if we sub WHM the MP we get is pitiful and I'd rather sub BRD for the extra CHR (only 1 point more than WHM at this lvl but... so?)

Pop a potion pill mid fight should your pet come uncharmed back off then rest up a bit. It's useful just to get you out of the red incase your pet uncharms for gets owned, so that you can get to the zone to save your **** ^^

What nobody seems to be willing to acknowledge is that if SE didn't add the 5 minute medicated status to these drops, you'd have people walking into CoP missions with 3 stacks of these on each toon...3600HP worth of healing.

Of course, nobody stops to think about what that would do to your friendly neighborhood WHM's chance of getting the CoP missions done without having to level another job to 60.

Bring a stack of these and hi-pots for spamming and you can greatly reduce the demands on your healer's MP when traveling through dangerous zones. 4-6 people popping Hi-pot drops after a rough fight are going to save the healers 4-600HP worth of casting.

Just because it doesn't work the way you want it to doesn't make it useless.

was no reason to make them have med effect, they do nothing diffrent but stack
No longer medicated...

This cost me the Maat fight THF style...
I was doing good then wondered why I couldn't heal myself and I noticed I was medicated. Needless to say it was a wasted THF testy. Stay away from these things unless it's your last resort... no ignore that. Stay away from them period.

/em looks for another Thiefstimony.

These cost me and my friends a BCNM tonight. I didn't know about the Medicated effect before hand, and after using one, I couldn't use the Icarus Wing I needed for one more Guillotine, which might have won us the fight. Way to go, SE!

For a second I thought this alone would have made alchemy worth while, but if it gives medicine effect, then no. Onyxmar has a good point where if, in a pinch, you needed a quick HP boost, this could save your life. In a NM/BCNM/Maat/etc fight, this just isn't going to replace regular hi-pots.

These drops are pretty much designed to be a "convenience". By that, I mean "save-your-********** convenience, not "solo NM X" convenience. If you grabbed a stack of higher level drops, then they may be more useful at higher player levels. If you keep a stack of these while XPing in the Kazham area, they may just save your life. You most likely will not encounter a life threatening experience faster than every five minutes... well, maybe near Kazham, but you get my point... I hope.
Does anyone know...

If you can use a normal Potion while the Medicated effect is up? For example, could you pop a Potion Drop, then use a normal Potion right after?

Yes, you can use normal Potions/Hi-Potions after using a Potion/Hi-potion drop.

Normal potions aren't considered "Medicine" and can be used while medicated. However, you cannot use another Hi-Potion drop while you are medicated.

I also had high hopes for these, but since they give medicated they suck ***.

Way to go SE, ruin another potentially awesome addition.

these suck i thought they would own. a stackable potion to help soloing but i was wrong

when u use one u get a "Medicated" effect and cant use any other medicine til it wears off.. its stupid. it last like 15-20 mins and does NOT go away if u die like signet

these items suck and should be avoided. id rather be able to use 3-4 non stacking potions to save my life in a solo fight then only use one and die cause i cant use another for 20m
...

these also give medicated status for 5 minutes. But other than that, Hi-Pots that are stackable ^^

If this is pretty much like normal Hi-Pots, but stack-able, then I am in love!
