while desynthing the hakimakis i got .2 whenever i skiled up at lv 6. when i did succeed i made HQ 2 or 3. Failure were realy not that bad as far as loss. i usually just lost the crystals. but i mostly needed to get rid of hakimaki while making more use out of them rather than vendoring htem.
out of the 24 hakimakis i had i recovered abou six stax of threads. lost lots of crystals but i started out with three stacks.
This is the worst desynth i've ever tried out. Out of 20 tries (i should've stopped long time before) i succeed in 4 with lvl 2 clothcraft AND advanced image support on lightningsday! I know desynths are supposed to be harder than regular synths, but this just insane... To my luck, it's not too expensive, my 16 failed only made -16k, but for the point that i didn't get a single skillup at all, i'm kinda disappointed. be aware of this receipe, i wouldn't suggest this unless you are a few lvls above and do it for grass threads, altho i wonder what you'd need them for if you're lvl 20+...
Sitabaki can be desynthed also for grass threads. I usually get about 6 from it, HQ gives 7 and HQ 2 gives cotton threads for some odd reason. It's strange
I've tried five different times with capes that I made, I tried this, and each time it failed. My clothing skills are level 2 at the moment, and I've still had no luck, yet they say the cap for doing this is level 1. Anyone have any suggestions?
I would so what the other two said. Wait until you have some more levels uder your skill before you get into desynthing. my cloth is at 5 and i can desynth most of the stuff here to make the thread. Its preaty much trial and error
well it depends on what you are trying to do. if you just want the grass thread then you should use the wind crystal + yagudo necklace recipe. if you are looking for skill ups, then dont start desynthing capes until you around level 6 or 7 clothcraft. I had a lot of problems with this desynth too, and i just decided not to do it until i got some more levels.

I'd submit this myself but I don't have an email client set up on this computer. However I was desynthing the Hachimaki I had made (sell for beans and desynthing is fun) and I got a .2 skillup at 8.2. So they give skillups past 8 not till 3 as the site says.
By: Kageboshi 35 posts Score: Decent [3.03]Rate This Post I've gotten 12 spools from a necklace one time. It was on lightsday, and I was making a bunch of grass cloth to synth something(I forget what it was now) on darksday. My skill was in the mid-twenties at the time.
Before that, I had hq'ed 6 or 9 spools several times each. The 12 spools was a very pleasant surprise.
I have also synthed 12 Grass Threads from a single yagudo necklace. Lately I have been averaging about 6 Threads %50 of the time and I have synthed 9 threads a few times as well.
I just got .1 from desynthing a cape at lvl 7.9. I ran out of supplies to get the extra point, so I started desynthing and I got .1. o.O That made me happy. I can now go on to my next synthesis. I had Mog Enh: Exp. faint light energy from 3 Mog Exp beds. I also had Advanced Synth support. Good luck and Happy Hunting :-)

One odd incident that I recall in Giddeus spun 9 threads from a Yagudo Bead Necklace. I figured it was just a super synth till I got 6 later on. Was wondering if there's an explanation for this.
I tend to agree cwinebrinner, i started crafting these from 0 clothcraft and leveled to 1. Since then i have crafted over 50 necklaces to thread and never received another skillup. I believe the level cap for this item has changes to 1.
I got some extra lighting crystals lying around when i got to the airship terminal. I decided to lvl up some clothcraft a bit. So i bought some Moko Grass. and my cloth was like 1 when i start the craft and i am to 3 now.
A good cheap way to get started in clothcraft is to take a couple of stacks of both wind and earth crystals to Giddeus and kill yagudos. Take the yagudo bead necklaces dropped and synth with wind crystal to get 3 grass thread. Then take the 3 grass thread and synth with earth to get one grass cloth. By doing so you can turn 12 yagudo necklaces into a stack of grass cloth, turning a profit and upping your craft level at the same time!
I noticed a trick you can do that won't get your character deleted by the GMs because it's pretty much fair. All you need is the ability to port to Valkurm's outpost and back to your home nation.
Go to the Weavers' Guild in Selbina and buy as many stacks of grass threads as you can. Make sure they're under 50 gil each. Then go back to your Home Town and sell them for about 1.2k+ a stack.

Huh? Since when buying low and selling high would get you deleted? This is one of the base tactics, buying things at vendors to sell at AH, and it's not only legal, it's vital to keeping some of the AHs stocked with goods.
Look at your bottom line. You pay 600 per stack, need to pay for your outpost port. If your nation doesn't have the control of the zone, you won't make enough mony for it to be worthwhile. If you have control, it's still what, 200 gil? your profit is 400 per stack, and you can only have 7 for sale. It's not a huge money maker, not even close.
You could have a mule in Windurst buy Windurst Tea Leaves from the sarutabaruta vendor for 140 a stack and sell for 500 in sandoria, more profit. You could have a character buy Rolanberries in Jeuno for 1200 a stack and sell them for 2k in sandoria. Standard trading.
For any serious crafter/farmer, a spot on the AH is not worth wasting for 200-400 gil profit, especially when you have stacks of materials that you need to sell at 15-30k.
I agree. I'm a THF45 on Garuda (one of the most expensive servers if not THE most expensive) and I use synthing in the field to compress inventory slots for longer trips. I'm used to posting stuff on the AH in jueno for no less than 12k a stack, then send stuff to mules that sells for 4-10k a stack. Anything less than about 2k/stack to me is a waste of space and if not autodropped on location is sold to NPCs.
