Mission Orders

Rescue the children held captive in the Orcish camp in Ghelsba Outpost.

Begin this mission by speaking with a gate guard in San d'Oria. The guard sends you to talk to a priest in the Cathedral in Northern San d'Oria. The priest is Arnau, found at the altar directly opposite the entrance to the Cathedral at (M-6).

The orcs have captured some children and are holding them in Ghelsba Outpost. (You can buy a map of the outpost in town.)

Exit town to West Ronfaure and head northwest until you reach a path leading north into a cave (E-4) to Ghelsba Outpost.

The children can be found at location G-9 of the map. When you open the door, you will get several options presented to you. Take the first one. This triggers a fight with 3 orcs, so you need to be in a group. Defeat the orcs and you will get a key which you can use to open the door and release the children. Go to the gate guard for a cutscene, then back to Arnau for another cutscene.

NOTE: If you redo this mission you will get a new cut scene to add to the storyline.

I was reading this post and there seems to be a lot of confusion on what to do. It's no wonder, since it's poorly written and quite vague. So, to help..

1. Get the mission as rank 1-3 by talking to a mission guy.
2. Go to the cathedral located in North Sandy.
3. Go to Ghelsba Outpost located in West Ronfaure at the NW portion of the map.
4. Once inside, go to the BCNM hut and choose, "Save the Children."
5. Beat the mobs.
6. After the fight you will receive a key. BEFORE YOU LEAVE, click on the door again.
7. Go back to the mission guy.
8. Go to chapel and speak with the main dood.

Once completed you will be rank 2!

Yeah I don't really see how you people could possibly have set the record around like the 30's and 20's at those levels.I set the record on Bahamut at 32 seconds and i was a 62MNK doing it for fun.

The zone for Ghelsba Outpost is @ E-4 in West Ronfaure, not hard to find as its the upper left hand corner of the map.

Ok, so i decided to do this mission with my mule.. he's a Lv.9 Elvaan War with no sub and level 1 gear, plus a butterfly axe. Granted, it was close and i had to 2hr.. but i ate no food, had no buffs and finished with HP = 18/143.
# Jan 05 2007 at 2:14 PM Rating: Decent
when doing this quest, does everyone in the party have to be from Sandy in order to get past the door to the hut?
# Jan 02 2007 at 1:58 AM Rating: Decent
did this as 14 thf, no subjob, horrible gear and a low level dagger, all 3 kills in 44 seconds, never got hit once, didn't use 2 hour

if you die during this quest... lol...
easy as pie

I just soloed this as a total newbie level 10 warrior. Spatha, lauan shield, scale set/royal footman's gloves. Went in with 270% tp, 2hred to smack the fodderchief down faster, 1-hit one of the ranged guys with fast blade 300%, then finished off the last one. Only 27 hp remaining, but that's better than 0.
Minimum lvl lower then 8

Its is a very easy mission and fun 2. I did it with a lvl 19WAR/MNK9 it took less than a minute. But u should get the map of Gelbesha Outpost first lol. i got lost on my way back and got aggroed by 2 decent challenge orcs and 1 even match.i leveled down that day but i got it back fast lol.(/cry) (/cheer)^^.
Tarutaru lvl 9 RDM

Solo, almost died (1hp and 6mp) but finished in about 2 minutes. Went in with 300 tp.
omg so hard
# Aug 15 2006 at 2:00 PM Rating: Decent
Lvl 10 Elvaan warrior and lvl 9 Elvaan whm

Destroyed them in about a minute, no 2 hours, health didn't even hit yellow. Could have solo'd with my war, might have had to 2 hour but I doubt it. Built up 300tp before fight.
# Aug 15 2006 at 6:51 AM Rating: Decent
I was a bit sceptic in the beginning since I was only lvl 12 BLM, but I went in after all, and what I did was:

Bind the chief, and nuke him with aero and water. when he is dead, you just attack one of the throwers and do the same with the last one, all you need is bind, aero and water, and you only need to bind the chief, since the throwers stands away from you from the beginning and only throws.

I survived with over half my hp, and I did it in just over a minute.

very easy on lvl 12 ;)

Solo 11Mnk
# Jul 27 2006 at 8:13 AM Rating: Decent
I just solo'd this at 11Mnk (no sub). I was using Grilled Hare (im cheap). I also am fairly new so I did not have much in the way of "1337" gear.

I got my TP up above 200 before I entered. Once inside, I boosted then moved ahead just enough for them to start moving towards me. I waited for the Fodderchief to rush in and started my attack. After a few good hits (1 crit) I used combo. This all but finished him off.

A couple hit later and I move on to the 2 ranger types. A few good hits on the first one and he is done (2 crits). I turn to the second and my first hit puts me over 100 TP so I lauch Combo. He is almost done for. A few hits later, gone.

I ended at 2min 0sec with 76 HP left.
Nice and easy

Yeah, just did this as a lvl 12 RDM with no problems. Didn't even need potions, special food, etc. Pulled no aggro from any of the other orcs either. Easy 1,000 gil and Rank 2, baby!
