Mission Orders

Rescue the children held captive in the Orcish camp in Ghelsba Outpost.

Walkthrough

Begin this mission by speaking with a gate guard in San d'Oria. The guard sends you to talk to a priest in the Cathedral in Northern San d'Oria. The priest is Arnau, found at the altar directly opposite the entrance to the Cathedral at (M-6).

The orcs have captured some children and are holding them in Ghelsba Outpost. (You can buy a map of the outpost in town.)

Exit town to West Ronfaure and head northwest until you reach a path leading north into a cave (E-4) to Ghelsba Outpost.

The children can be found at location G-9 of the map. When you open the door, you will get several options presented to you. Take the first one. This triggers a fight with 3 orcs, so you need to be in a group. Defeat the orcs and you will get a key which you can use to open the door and release the children. Go to the gate guard for a cutscene, then back to Arnau for another cutscene.

NOTE: If you redo this mission you will get a new cut scene to add to the storyline.

Where does Tedimout ( a boy training to be a friar ) come into the picture? Maybe he has stolen something.

Or have I got a wrong cutscene? maybe the start of a quest. If so, then which one?

How do I get the rigth cutscene then?

Can I go and save the children without having seen the rigth cutscene?

thx
solo?

Orc at the Back
# Jan 27 2004 at 7:32 AM Rating: Default
Who is the Orc at the back of the battle. I think his name is Rogchop or Rocchop, something like that. He doesn't attack you, and when you are on the other side of the battlefield, you can see him through the fence. What is his importance?
RE: Orc at the Back
# Jan 30 2004 at 5:56 AM Rating: Default
Figured it out. It's name is Ropchop, and he will let you out of the battlefield if you give him 100 gil. I guess that's for the newbs who didn't know any better than to go in there at lvl 8.
ez min should be like 9 or something

I soloed it as a 14 Taru BLM. It was very easy, but my health was getting somewhat low. Of course, it's always low. I'm a Taru.

so very easy

Beat it with lvl 11 RDM, extremely easy I must say. I didn't even need to heal during the fight, a lvl 10 character could definitely do it. The area before the hut had easy orcs, 2-4 hits and they were down. I thought it would be hard so I prepared by I getting my TP up to 300% before endering the hut. You get transported to an open area so don't worry, you don't have to fight in the tight hut :). I blinded the chief and unleashed my Burning Blade weapon ability, after 3 more standard hits he was down. Blinded the archers too, they fell after 3 hits easy. At the end I had 99/162 HP left and I didn't even heal during the battle, so easy. So easy infact that I did it again just for the heck of it, actually I think you get 9 fire crystals after the fight, 12 sell for about 1200gil on ma server.

all lies
# Dec 13 2003 at 9:16 AM Rating: Decent
I had a team member with me who had finished the quest (and had started mission 4). I was a level 8 warrior, he was a level 8 monk. It told him he could help, and it told me (upon "forcing the lock" that all of my party members were cleared for entry.

I was the only one who was put inside though! All of these people saying that those who have done the mission already can help are not telling the truth - they can't. Find others who are doing the mission *right now*, or you're screwed.

I did it as a lvl 40 drk with my friend...and I'm rank 5, so your friend must have screwed up.

I think I solo this mission. I'm a lvl 10 red mage but I think I'll wait until at least 12.

I'm still confused how to get to the Ghelsba Outpost. From San d'Oria, where should I go?

Once You Get The Key
# Nov 20 2003 at 7:11 AM Rating: Default
I did the mission last night (I'm a Level 11 Red Mage) with a level 13 Warrior. Once you get the Hut Key, where do you have to go to get the children? I couldn't figure it out and went back to the castle, it bumped me up to Level 2 but didn't give me the 1000 gil. Any suggestions?

Turn around and walk back up to the hut door that was tightly shut. You can unlock it now.

# Nov 18 2003 at 1:16 PM Rating: Default
You and only group members who have the quest or either have done it can enter. THe door will by "tightly shut" for those who do no have the quest or not finished the quest. If you ask a person to help you out, make sure they have done the quest or they will not be able to enter.
cant get in the hut
# Nov 16 2003 at 2:24 AM Rating: Default
tried this today with my friend who got the quest (i didnt). We are both level 9, he was able to get in the hut and I could not. He got the message that his party members could enter, but it was a lie

I petitioned and a GM told me I did not meet some requirement but would not say what the requirement was. It was very fustrating because we can find no info in game of this 'magical' requirement. First bug I have found in the game so far, but its still pissing me off.

Anyone know what the requirement is?

The magical requirement is that you NEED TO HAVE GOTTEN THE QUEST! (not a but, BTW)
RE: cant get in the hut
# Nov 18 2003 at 12:16 AM Rating: Default
Had this happen with several groups. Sometimes half the group gets in. Basically, the people allowed in are the people who either have the mission currently, or anyone who has done it before. No one who does not or has never had the mission can participate.
RE: cant get in the hut
# Nov 17 2003 at 12:59 PM Rating: Decent
after you get the quest you MUST go see teh Head Priest in the Catherdal.. if you have NOT done any quest in the cathedral yet, First Cut scene you see is of his Surman. THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT CUT-Scene. you MUST talk to him again to see People coming up to him talking about Castle business and about the children being Captured. also the priest will say something about hoping that you will get children back.
Party?
# Nov 14 2003 at 9:49 PM Rating: Default
Does your party have to have the quest running also? Can you just pick up some guy who hasnt done it and bring him along? Ive been trying to get my party in, but its not letting them even though Im getting the Currently, your party members can enter the battlefield.

# Nov 12 2003 at 7:52 AM Rating: Default
Did this twice tonight with a lvl 6 war, and an 11 blk mage.

First time, if person who needs mission dies before chief is slain, the mission isn't completed, even if the other guy wins the fight.

Second time, if the person who needs mission dies AFTER the chief is slain, but before the battle is over, he DOES complete the mission as long as the other person wins. (He gets the hut key, he then has to walk back and touch the hut door again to get the cutscene with the kid prisoners).
