Mission Orders

Receive two bags of food offerings from the Rhinostery, and deliver one bag to each of the Yagudo who stand by the altars of offerings in Giddeus. Don't forget to report back to the Rhinostery after completing the mission.

Walkthrough

After you talk to the guard, he sends you to the Rhinostery at (J-9) in Windurst Waters. Walk up to the roof and talk to Leepe-Hoppe. He gives you two key items: Food Offering and Drink Offering and asks you to take them both to Giddeus. It is recommended that you purchase a Map of Giddeus before you leave town.

Head to Giddeus, located at the Northwest corner of West Sarutabaruta. Once inside, stick to your left until you reach (H-7) on your map. There should be a Yagudo NPC named Laa Mozi standing in front of a cave. Speak to him and he will accept the Food Offering. Return to the zone entrance and this time, keep to the right until you reach (G-7) on your map. You should see another Yagudo NPC named Ghoo Pakya. Speak to him and he will accept the Drink Offering.

Return to the Rhinostery and head back upstairs. A cutscene should start. After that, speak to Leepe-Hoppe, who redirects you to the gatehouse. Thus back to the guards, mission complete and award achieved.

I did this mission at lvl 10 (I'm a Mithra Monk) and all the Yagudos conned as easy prey to me. Some didn't even attack me they were so low, but sometimes two would but still it was a piece of cake.

There are a variety of "easy prey" levels - I found some Yagudos that gave me 35 xp and then most that gave me 12 or 18 xp. But there is plenty of time to heal in between fights. Especially if you (once you get to the main open area where the caves and altars are) you stand a while and watch their patterns of movement. There are sometimes two that stand right in front of the NPC you need to talk to, but if you wait, they will both walk away. At most you will have to fight one while in there. Maybe two if one is near the entrance.

The hardest part is navigating without a map but it wan't that bad.
Problem?

I'm having difficulty completeing this mission. It's easy enough to sneak around to both offering locations, however both of the Yagudos accept the "Food" offering, but neither will take the Drink offering. Am i missing something?

Problem solved.

A note to anyone attempting this at a lower level (5-8). When you take the all-rights path, you HAVE to cross a stream area at one point. If you dont, you're going to end up back at the Food Offering (Left path).

Beware of the Giddeus Pugils, because unlike their Pug cousins, they aggro.

Occaisionally you might run into a DC or T/VT Yagudo (usually one that's been buffed by a piper or other higher level yag). This wont be a problem if you wait around, because many higher level people use Giddeus to farm for Clothcrafting supplies.

just finished mission. it took me about 20 min from start to finish. very straight forward .. just go to west sara in the top left corner where the map tapers down and ends without a name <F8>. then as ppl have posted just either take all the lefts, or all the rights till you get to entrance to cave. and talk to the guy and your done. i did this and im level 19 (have been lazy) so everything was too weak .. so nothing aggrod. quite an easy mission :D

This mission is easy with no fighting necessary at all as long as you watch out for Yagudos in Giddeus and sneak around them (or just kill them if you're lvl 8+; I did it solo with a gimpy thief). It's a pretty sparse area to begin with.

When you enter Giddeus, hug either the left or the right wall until you get a cave entrance with a blue-named Yagudo standing out front. Talk to it to hand it the item, then go back to the entrance and take the path in the other direction. This is much faster and easier than either of the previous missions. Maybe it's because the next mission is such a headache.

The guide up top says "NW corner of West Sarutabaruta" which is...sorta correct.

Actually, if you look at the map, you'll see that the top-west part of WS is a bit globby amoeba-shaped thing. At the north tip of it is another tower, but that's one of the ruins...not the entrance to Giddeus.

However, if you look at the southern part of the glob, you'll see a tendril of land that sorta just fades away...almost like a "tunnel" to another zone. Which it is.

As a level 7 Black Mage, this wasn't too hard to do, although it took some time. The two Yagudo NPCs that you want are standing in front of some sort of altar. Mine were named "Ghoo Pakya" and "Laa Mozi" (just in case the names change).

If you're good at sneaking around enemies, this shouldn't be too hard.

I did it as a level 7 black mage by sneaking around and handing them in, and then running out of the area with things chasing me

i was wondering.....do you habve to go into the caves to complete this mission?
RE: change minimum level
# Dec 03 2003 at 3:11 PM Rating: Default
no you do not have to go inside the caves, The two yagudo's you must give the offerings to are at two different entrances to the cave, I would also recommend staying outsiode the caves, When I went in last time I was killed by a uniquqe Yagudo (Zhu Buxu) as a lvl 14 mnk. Gonna go back to give the other tribute now that I have a map of the place.

I'm a LVL18 WAR/LVL13 THF/LVL8 MNK. My friend, who is a lvl 24 WAR, has problems in the giddeus caves when he goes solo. I'd suggest giddeus caves for lvl 20+ parties only. It's a rather evil place.
