Sandorian name of quest is "Appointment to Jeuno". 2 parties of lvl 35s is plenty.
lvl 40's

My LS plans to do this with 6 people when we are all lvl 40. We have a DRK, PLD, DRG, WHM, RDM and BLM. What I want to know is if we are gonna need sneak/invis on us to avoid aggro or will we be to high lvl to get aggro?

I happened to take a peek in the tower today at lv40 and the giants I checked on the 1st floor checked either weak or easy to me. And assuming they get higher when you move up, you are gonna need sneak/invis. Or you could just smash your way through, recasting sneaks/invis seems like a pain give the randomness.

Solo?
# Feb 02 2004 at 11:18 AM Rating: Default
Anyne have any idea when this could be soloed by a red mage. I would have no problem getting there, but the NM might be tough. Most of my LS did it already =(.

I am in the same boat as you. My LS did this quest without me on a night that I was not able to play. However, another member had the same problem. He took his lvl 50 drg through it without difficulty. Since a rdm can sneak up the tower, I think it could be done around lvl 40-45. The only problem would be not getting mobbed near the NM.

When I did it we were a group of 30s + a 63 blm. The blm meleed (so the mobs wouldn't agro us) all the way up the tower and very rarely had to rest because of drain/aspir. When we got to the NM room, he went up to it and soloed it (this time using his full strenght).

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the mobs didn't agro our level 40 whm, so at 45 getting to the top shouldn't be a problem (other than the elementals / magic pots). I know for sure nothing agroed our 63.

I probably wouldn't risk it before 50 because of the NM, but somewhere between 50-60 would be a good level to solo it. Or you could /shout for a person or two around your level to make it much easier.

Just finished this the other night, with the help of a few ls members. 36whm, 36whm, 30 war, 24 war and 36 war. We did not seem to have any problems at all. It took us about 1hour to get to the top. I would suggest, buying some prism powder and silent oil before going to do this. It takes the stress of re-casting ever two minutes off the mages. Prism Powder and Silent Oil can be bought at AH.. Sets of 12 cost me 5,000 each. Once up on the 10th floor, be careful when you enter the room to fight NM, He is not in there alone.. 4-5 other gaints are there also. What we did, was take care of the others, before attacking the NM.. Worked Great for us.. Oh and the Chest is there in the room. You need to have a chest key to open it, if you were lucky enough to obtain one while on lower lvls of tower, by fighting the mobs, use it before you head back down.. Have the key holder open the chest.. We got 2100 gil each. Not to bad when you get another 5,000 when quest is done :)
Top level doors?
# Jan 31 2004 at 4:10 PM Rating: Decent
I took my lvl 30 RDM/NIN to first level of the top section using sneak and invis. I knew I couldn't beat the NM by myself, but I figured there would be some JP to help. There weren't, so all I got of the trip was a knowing the right paths to take. However, on the first level of the top section I ecountered some cermet doors. When I tried to open one (I was careful enough not to be seen), it did nothing. What am I supposed to do and which door is the right one?
can't get this one

either trade crystal stacks to the guard that casts signet, or redo other easier missions. Your rank is not high enough. If you trade crystals, I recommend earth or water. The rest are worth far too much in the AH to trade to a guard.

I was wondering if once you get the key can you just have a black mage cast escape and then go back in and sneak/invise to talk to the ambasador?

Delfkutt Tower Easy Access
# Jan 23 2004 at 11:53 AM Rating: Excellent
This might save some people grief:

I was on my way to Jueno when I got an invite to come join the mission for Rank 4. By the time I got to town everyone was sending me tells to hurry up and to let me know some people had already started.

Therefore, I went straight to the Tower and did the mission with everyone else. Stupid, I know, but I wanted to get it done. When we got to the bottom everyone else got the cutscenes with thier ambassadors, but I did not because I had not gone to talk to the Consulate ahead of time. DOH!

Anyway, I left the tower with everyone else feeling digusted and went to the consulate to get the mission, The good news is I went right back to the tower, cast sneak, took the first left, and traded the Delfkutt Key on the door in the back of the room (E8?), went straight back to the big room and got my cutscene. Total time from toer zone to cutscene was about 1 min.

This can be used if you have the opportunity to join a party to get the Delfkutt Key before you have received the mission for Rank 4,if you want to go straight up to the top to help someone get the key, or if you want to farm the area later.

did this last night with a prty of 4. Levels 30,41,61 and 63 using sneak and invisible allowed us to do this mission in 1.5 hours. (the main reason im writing this is because if anyone wants to follow what we did be aware that at the end you will be place in a room where u have to find the door with your npc in it and your high levels that have done this mission already cant come in to help u just be aware!

Jeuno

Hey guys we just finished this mission last night and here is how it went. first we got together a group of 12 members, 3 of which were Jp players. I think an allience isn't required if your above level 30 as everything in the whole tower is mostly even match, at the very top the mobs for key are VT so a group of 6 should handle it well. We didn't have to fight them Our Tour guide took them out easily and got us all keys Thanks Niku if you're out there. Whole mission took about 2.5 hours.. Climbing that tower was at least 2 hours and .5 to get out alive, luckily noone died and we all attained rank 4.. now on to level some more then rank5 and fly all over Vanadiel.. Once again an Allience isn't necessary if your character is 30 or above, mobs agro till lev 35 anyway good luck to all of you.

No Alliance
# Jan 11 2004 at 9:21 AM Rating: Default
No need for an alliance. Last night I was in the Tower with a party of 6 (we were all aroud Lv. 30) messing around with the E.F. stuff. The highest level monster in the tower is level 36, and we were able to take everything down easily.

The mission will take a while, though, since we only got to the second floor before some people had to leave. While we could handle any monster in there, we literally had to fight EVERYTHING in our path.
correct title?

Is the mission title listed correct? I skipped Bastok's mission 8, the forsaken mines, and the next mission available was called "Jeuno". This is the name that also shows up in my mission log. Does it later change to "a new journey" once you get to Jeuno?
correct title?
# Apr 28 2007 at 5:15 PM Rating: Decent
the bastok version of this quest is, in fact, titled 'jeuno' the other two titles they give are the windy and sandy versions. essentially, however, they are the same quest beyond the initial part.

... are you guys reading the same mission.. this is mission 10... 3rd mission for the 3rd rank. neways this mission was a b%tch to do.. omg..6 +1 alliance... 40pld/39drk/35whm, and everyone else was in there 31-32.. lol, all the lower lvl people got aggroed, and it took us 3hrs just to reach the top when a high lvl rdm decided to escort us there.. i think he was lvl 60. neways.. this mission sucks and it's not worth it, but you have to do it for the rank TT
Delkfuts Key

Is there anyting you can do with the key after the mission?
RE: Delkfuts Key

You can keep it to assist others on the mission later on.. I don't think it has any other value.
