Mission Orders

On the Star Sibyl's command, you are to head north to the ruins of Fei'Yin, somewhere on the Beaucedine Glacier. There, you are to confirm whether the final seal is doing its job.

Walkthrough

Speak to a gate guard to begin this mission. You are needed at Heavens Tower. Head upstairs to the Star Sibyl's Chambers for a cutscene. You will receive the key item: New Fei'Yin Seal. If you cannot receive the seal, make sure your rank points are full and try zoning out of the tower then go back to the chamber again. This quest cannot be completed without the seal!

When ready, head to Fei'Yin either by going through Ranguemont Pass, or by getting a Teleport-Vazhl if everyone in your party has the crystal. It is recommended you have a map or a printed map as Beaucedine Glacier can be a very confusing maze to navigate.

When you zone into Fei'Yin, you will get a cutscene. After the cutscene, head to (K-8), where you will find two dolls and a Cermet Gate on the east wall. Head to the gate to find Qu'bia Arena. Some mobs aggro to magic and many others aggro to sound, so it's recommended every party member bring their own Sneak Oil.

You have 15 minutes to defeat Archlich Taber'quoan and his minions, the Ancient Sorcerers and Ancient Warriors. Everyone must be on this mission or higher or they will not be able to enter the battlefield. Once you defeat the Archlich, the battle will end and you will receive a cutscene and a key item: Burnt Seal.

Return to the Star Sibyl to finish this mission.

Update Notes

As of February 14th, 2011, there is no longer a level cap restriction on the mission battlefield.

Battle Notes

Buffs cast outside the battle will wear off upon entering, so do it inside. The Ancient Warriors keep spawning, so focus on the Archlich. You only need to defeat him to win. The minions are easily slept.

C'mon, people!

Is it just me, or is the fact that the Warp II quest is ingrained into this guide highly annoying?

I mean... what if we aren't a BLM, and we don't plan on getting that scroll, yet? (Not even to sell at the AH)

First off, be thankful that somebody has even written a guide for you. And second, it doesn't take a genius to figure out how to skip the WarpII quest if you don't want to do it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 09 2004 at 6:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It's just you. Suck it up and spend the 500 cp on a warp scroll. Or do a suicide warp out. It's one way and not worth the trouble to go back without warping.

Ah, the wonders of MISREADING.

He meant that this guide for RANK-5-2 MISSION NOT THE WARP II QUEST mentions and even directs a path through so that you can finish the WARP II QUEST.

I agree with the original poster that this is ABSOLUTELY IDIOTIC!

So...YOU can suck it up.

If you look in the game guides section you will see that this is an exerpt from a fantastic guide to all the missions up to the expansion pack. Since he is pretty much offering a free guide to the entire game, and he decided he may as well offer as many chances as possible to save time and gain money/valuable items you call him idiotic? Quite the thank you.

I agree with Timmawah...
Dear lord you people are stupid, I mean come ON, what, are you getting mad because he is trying to help people OTHER then you? That this guide is not 100% JUST FOR YOU?
Open your eyes and see that you are lucky to have any of this at all.

I'd like to add the burning circle door is at K-8, not k-9 and if you find yourself at broken stairs your SE of the door so exit the broken stairs room and hug the east wall all the way to the circle
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 09 2004 at 1:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) My mission name is "Darkness Rising" not "final seal" , is that cuz I"m from Bastock? or this Website is getting OLD? =P
Ranguemont Pass
# Jan 08 2004 at 12:06 AM Rating: Default
Ranguemont is NOT 1 way... if you take a small amount of time and explore you will find that taking the left from the first granite door leads to another granite door that you can open and leave from

Your level is capped to keep uber players from rushing the weaker ones through combat. It's just to make sure that you're at least somewhat challenged when you enter the battlefield.
Very weak NM

Ur lv will drop to 50 even u are lv70 when u go in the place. Any equip over lv 50 will also be unequipped automatically.
Level cap?
# Nov 14 2003 at 1:42 PM Rating: Default
Just what exactly is the level cap for?
Is the boss capped or is my max level to fight this thing 50?
RE: Level cap?
# Jan 03 2004 at 11:41 PM Rating: Default
It's a capped fight. If you are level 70 when you go in, you will temporarily drop to 50. Goes away when you leave/the battle ends.
