Mission OrdersOn the Star Sibyl's command, you are to head north to the ruins of Fei'Yin, somewhere on the Beaucedine Glacier. There, you are to confirm whether the final seal is doing its job. WalkthroughSpeak to a gate guard to begin this mission. You are needed at Heavens Tower. Head upstairs to the Star Sibyl's Chambers for a cutscene. You will receive the key item: New Fei'Yin Seal. If you cannot receive the seal, make sure your rank points are full and try zoning out of the tower then go back to the chamber again. This quest cannot be completed without the seal! When ready, head to Fei'Yin either by going through Ranguemont Pass, or by getting a Teleport-Vazhl if everyone in your party has the crystal. It is recommended you have a map or a printed map as Beaucedine Glacier can be a very confusing maze to navigate. When you zone into Fei'Yin, you will get a cutscene. After the cutscene, head to (K-8), where you will find two dolls and a Cermet Gate on the east wall. Head to the gate to find Qu'bia Arena. Some mobs aggro to magic and many others aggro to sound, so it's recommended every party member bring their own Sneak Oil. You have 15 minutes to defeat Archlich Taber'quoan and his minions, the Ancient Sorcerers and Ancient Warriors. Everyone must be on this mission or higher or they will not be able to enter the battlefield. Once you defeat the Archlich, the battle will end and you will receive a cutscene and a key item: Burnt Seal. Return to the Star Sibyl to finish this mission. Update NotesAs of February 14th, 2011, there is no longer a level cap restriction on the mission battlefield. Battle NotesBuffs cast outside the battle will wear off upon entering, so do it inside. The Ancient Warriors keep spawning, so focus on the Archlich. You only need to defeat him to win. The minions are easily slept. I've helped many people over the years do this mission. Personally my favorite method is finding one good galka monk with lots of merits to solo the main NM, or 2 average good monks, while i go along as a whm or pld.. they dont need much healing very few times have i had to toss them a cure.. 2 galka mnks with hundred fists - merits - good gear.. fictory is won before 2hr wears off very quick smooth and easily. I've got to do this mission again soon as i started a new character on ramuh.. gonna look up some ole galka buddies once again lol
Does it matter if ur above lvl 50? cuz im lvl 63 and ill just get capped apon entering the BC.. right...?(hopefully?)

Is it possible to win this with just 5 people? I wanted to do this but i dont have a job above 40 and i wanted to do this mission and go do 5-2 with my friend this weekend. If you've did it with 5 or less people please tell me your party combo! Thanks!

yeah i just did this mission, very easy . My LS Vision from Hades just slaped this and broke the record from 10 mins to 6 mins 5 secs. used benediction lol so what we broke your record lol chump .

Did this last night with Rdm/whm Rdm/blm Blm/whm Drk/War(me) Nin/War Whm/blm
here was are stratedgy...Nin runs in Links them all then me and him take him. rdms take the two socerers while refreshing the Blm and whm who were healing and using aga spells. When he started spawnig warriors rdms couldn't handle it so i ran around kitied about 5 of them then at 100% spinning scythe FTW! overall very easy

just tried to get a pt together... gdi Siren is so f'n LAZY!!! 1 hour 15 minutes shouting and I just barely get 6 people XD

Im not sure why but i got this mision as a beastmaster lvl 41, its my highest character, but this sheet says i would get the mission at lvl 45, is it possible due to a bsts traits that a bst can get it earlier?
There is no level requirement to receive the mission. The min. level listed is the suggested minimum for taking on the fight.

ok i just did this with this party : PLD/WAR PLD/NIN SMN/WHM RDM/BLM WHM/BLM we owned them i was suppossed to kite the lil ones as PLD/NIN but there was no need MNK and SMN killed main NM fast, MNK and SMN used 2 hour btw
Just helped my friend do this, only did it for a laugh as we were going to the area to farm chips for our cop static plus there were only 4 of us but hey we did it lol. 4xBST it was awsome

Alright, my rank points are full and I've already seen the cutscene. I talked to Halver, but he wont give me the seal. I zoned, and he still wont give it to me. Even ran to Ronfaure, logged out, and when I got back to Halver he STILL didn't give me the seal. I'm above level 45, and I even checked my Key Items just to see if I somehow got it. If anyone knows what's going on, please respond as soon as possible. My linkshell is going to be doing missions 5-1 and 5-2 tonight and I'd like to join them. Thanks!!

I'd also like to mention that whenever I speak to Halver, he says the following:
"We shall begin immediate discussion on a policy for action. Zyre, you must work on improving your skills and equipment."
I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean I need to go level some more and get new equipment because I've got pretty decent gear for my job. I'm assuming he's just saying this, and doesn't actually mean for me to go out and get level some more.

Nevermind! I figured out the problem.
Turns out you gotta go talk to the knight you get mission assignments from before you have to talk to Halver. My fault completely!!

and me DRK/THF (me)
And we won the first time! Although 3-4 members died from bad hate management, we still won. Circle Blade from PLD(to kill minions), healing from RDMs, nuking from BLM and dmg from us DRKs killed him. So, I'd just like to say it's very possible to win with weirdo parties

Go to Chateau d'Oraguille and you'll have a cut scene, than speak with the mission npc, Now you can speak to Halver to take the key item New Fei'Yin seal.

Hey, got a question -
I talked to the bastok guy who gives missions, and he said I was on Darkness Rising. Then I went to Chateau de whatever and talked to the king, but nothing happened. My rank points were not full at the time I "flagged" this quest, so I traded in some crystals. Then I look throught my key items, and I see New Fei-Yin Seal...It has been almost a year since I flagged this mission, so I can't remember what I did. Is the Key Item "New Fei-Yin Seal" what I need? or is it something else?

Just did this. Died the first two times with this setup:

Rdm x2
War/rdm
Other drg had to go so we got a nin instead and we beat the guy easily :) Two tanks helps alot.

Well let me tell you...when I first did this mission for myself...it was easy. Now having seen a bit more and being the leader of HonourGuard, I planed a LS event :) to set out and get Rank 6 for some of my members who needed it.
I will...swallow my pride and say we failed a couple times but, Hey! third time was the charm.
Here was our set-up RDM (me) WHM, MNK, MNK, PLD & PLD.
The battle plan was that yours truly ran in there and kitted all the little ones while the others beat down on the big one...the 2 MNKs used their 2hr and so did the WHM and :P it was quite the job kitting those little skelles but I think the PLDs used thier 2hr too ^^
I also used my 2hr to help heal and keep stoneskin up.
I am now proud to say that the third time we succeeded...and!!!! we beat the time record that was 3 mins and 12 seconds.
Our time was: 3 mins 5 seconds :D
/hurray for HonourGuard where we value our members and help them without hesitance :D

I was gettin ready to log after a boring night, untill a tell comes my way asking if i wanted to do Rank 5.1. Well, i was hesitant at first cause the last time i did this, the party friggen sucked. So i ask how many they have, they said 4 that's all we need. I said yea right and brought along my PLD LS member who needed it too.

Plan of attack: PLD run in..**** everyone off, voke, Invincible, and pound the hell out of the Archlich!
Outcome: Smoked in 4 mins (56 secs off record on Ragnarok) Woulda beaten the record if i didn't have to calm everyone down when the BRD was wanting to sleep everything! Which he tried during battle and nearly died..Told ya so!

this fight was EASY!! let me repeat EASY!!! my pt setup was mnk/war x2 war/nin(me) brd/whm(no gear) rdm/whm(no gear) before we enter we buff up use food brd uses ballads, then paeons get in, run until the archlich mnks use 2hr 3min later we win.. the server record was 3:08 we did 3:09.. :(

Hi, just thought I'd give the way my LS (NewDream) and I did it. Well, we went 4 BLMs a RDM and a RNG. Didn't sound like much of a fighting chance huh? Well, we did it actually, and it was really quite nifty if thats the right word. Well, anyways, this is what we did:
1. Everyone nuked and killed the sorcerers first, get them out of the way first if you want a fighting chance at least.
2. BLMs(me included) -aga at the same time and devastate the minions and sorcerers at the same time. It works really well.
3. Once the sorcerers are finished, the RNG focused on the Archmage guy, while RDM healed the RNG and kept refresh up on himself.
4. The BLMs during all this are taking turns nuking the Warriors/minions with -agas and when they aren't are healing to get MP. Its really easy to do this once there are 3 minions up.
5. Have one BLM if u wish help nuke the big boss guy. Nuke until dead, and stick a fork in him, 'cause hes done. Enjoy the CS.

the Sam that would come couldnt enter the battlefield><
So, strategie, the mages take out the minions, the melees take out Archlich Taber'quoan. good stratetgie? not. the mages were running all over the place chased by minions with their hp in red. the DRK begins to do ga-spels. but gets so much hate that even invincible didnt get the hate back. and he died.
Then the PLD used circle blade, and three minions died. another three died of a ga-spell. now we were winning.... but the mages were outta mp. So they rest behind the Paladin, so he gets all the minions, that die insantly with circle blade. and Archlich Taber'quoan was only hitting the PLD fre 9 too 12 damage!
so... after 11 minutes and 22 seconds we won.
now, whats my point? A good paladin can hold of the minions and Archlich Taber'quoan with ease. So, let him stand in the place were the minions spawn, so he gets all the agro and kill them all with circle blade. And the mages can nuke Archlich Taber'quoan with spells

I just finished this fight. I went as a 50BLU/NIN. When building a pt for this, grab a blu. I was dealing crazy damage. I had one self SC deal nearly 800 damage. This mob hates Jet stream, bludgeon, and fusion. Here are the parser details:

I've gotten the cutscene but when I talk to Halver he just says "keep improving your skills and equipment." I'm a WHM52 with full rank points, and I've rezoned, but with no luck >_> Can someone tell me how to start this mission?
I just had this happen also. Go back to the gate guard that gives you the missions. Choose "Ruins of Fei'yin". That should do it.
