Summary

You are being tested by the Tenshodo.
Defeat the two monstrous rams in the wild and bring back their horns--a Rampaging Horn and a Lumbering Horn to Paujean.

Walkthrough

The quest can be offered from Paujean at the Tenshodo area in Port Bastok. You must have some Tenshodo fame before it will be offered. To raise Tenshodo fame, do the quest from Talib (same floor) by trading him zinc ores repeatedly.

You must bring Paujean a Rampaging Horn and Lumbering Horn. Rampaging Ram appears in Konschtat Highlands by lottery pop of Tremor Ram. Lumbering Lambert appears on the La Theine Plateau by lottery pop of Battering Ram.

Bring the two horns back to Paujean for your reward.

I just fought a Tremor Ram in the Highlands. I'm 27th level Monk/ 13th level Thief. He checked easy to me and I killed him fast with 100 Fists. He dropped 3 ram skin and 1 ram horn.

Good for you. Although, a Tremor Ram is not Lumbering Lambert or Rampaging Ram. He wants the NM drops, not Tremor Ram drops.
Tenshodo fame

You need a bit of Tenshodo fame. There are tenshodo quests in every city. I recommend doing them. Cheaper then zinc ore quest ^^ As for the lvl of these mobs. If your 40 ish they are not much of a problem. I recommend equiping ranger sub job for wide area scan.
not for low level ...

a japanese friend told me this notorious monster is a 3 days pop, and it took full party of 60+ to kill him, so ...

and yeah, i witnessed the fight, he cast some sort of delevel that make a tank at 1000 hp down to 200, a few times to a few party members.

didn't bother to get close so, not sure how much damage he does beside the delevel spell, and crap. but member hp bar went down pretty fast. it takes approximately 4 minutes to kill him. very slowwwwwww.

i'd say by the sound of that you're talking about steelfleece balderich, or as i call im, steel wool. he is a rare spawn of rampaging ram, which in turn is a rare spawn of tremmor rams, which is a rare spawn in and of itself.

Yesterday my MNK/WHM friend, lvl 30, and I, lvl 30 BLM/SMN, were hunting Battering Rams for gil from there drops, I saw that Lumbering Lumbert had spawned, I told him that I wanted to try to kill it. We killed it with 2 lvl 30's with no outside help and no 2 hours. It was gettin gkind of close though, if the ram got 3 more hits on him he would have died because the thing cursed us. So 2 lvl 30's can kill it, you just have to know what your doing.

Will someone just sell the belt on Odin, Sandoria or Bastok AH? :(

I think it means that usually, tremor rams will pop, however, sometimes instead of a tremor ram, a raging ram will pop.
lottery pop

I think "lottery pop" means "at random".
What is lottery pop?
# Nov 12 2003 at 1:05 PM Rating: Default
What exactly is lottery pop? Is that a random chance the other monster will pop instead of the normal monster.

Or do you have to kill the normal monster and THEN the new one can pop?
