Summary

Lumomo wants you to exterminate an ecological thread, and bring her evidence of the feat.

Walkthrough

Talk to Lumomo in Windurst Waters inside the tavern.

She will tell you go out and find someone named Ahko Mhalijikhari in the Maze of Shakhrami.

When you enter the Maze of Shakhrami, head down until you see Ahko Mhalijikhari. When you speak to her, she will spray you with a chemical that will attract the pests you need to exterminate. The "spray" includes a level restriction of 20.

Head Northeast until you get to (E-7). Next, head East to another tunnel at (H-7). The map will have changed. Head to (I-10) and you should see a ??? spot. It is recommended you kill all the mobs in the room before beginning. Once everyone is ready to begin, have one person examine the ???, keeping in mind that the person to spawn the monsters will be immediately attacked by all of them. Three Wyrmflies will spawn.

Once you have killed all three Wyrmlies, everyone doing the quest must examine the ??? to get a key item: Indigested Meat. If you died during the fight, you have to go back to Ahko Mhalijikhari and get more ointment applied in order to receive the key item from the ???.

Return to Ahko Mhalijikhari and she will remove the ointment and level restriction.

Return to Lumomo to collect your reward.

What you gotta kill

A'ight... Iv'e done a lotta hunting in the maze and this is my theory:

Y'see those bone piles that look sorta like caves? Well, ghouls come outta them. And near as I can tell, they only come out if someone has been sprayed. They're a little difficult to kill for me, so I haven't. And I have no idea how many you gotta kill or what you get, but yeah. That's my theory. Also, if you're sprayed, others can't can't heal/enhance you whatsoever. It sucks.

Some info on the mobs

I made a suicide run through that place the other day - I can tell you the names of some of the mobs I saw - ghouls, scorpions, goblins (not sure what type), stink bats, a wendigo, a crawler (again, not sure what type), and maze makers. All of these conned very tough to a level 13. I ran through the first main room into the second larger room, took the first left passage to the north (my mistake, as I was trying to do Windurst mission 4), ran through a few more hallways and smaller room till I saw a room up ahead that had a sort of bone dais. I was able to target *something* named Rockwell, but a ghoul doubled me before I could identify it, 70 hp per hit. I did not con the ghouls, scorpions and the wendigo, I am assuming they were MUCH higher than me.

Hope this helps. Note that I did not leave the first main level. I would definitely not label this quest as starting as level one. Also, that mithra at the entrance to the cave that sprays you mentions that the spray will only last a short amount of time - so you must be able to kill whichever monsters you need and run back to the questgiver with enough time to have the spray last. A sub job is a necessity, along with a full group, if not alliance.

Yup. The gobs, ghouls, and scorpions aggro, and the bats are social. Never ran into a Wendigo, though. Geh. I'm a lvl 14 warrior and I'm still nervous about going in there without a full group + alliance. The Maze Makers aren't so bad, because they won't follow you if you need to back off and heal for a second, but they're still mean.

Have no idea what sort of item to turn in to Lumomo... I have something called Animal Glue that dropped while I was in there, so I'll try it and see...

I have just received this quest in Bastok as well. She stated that I am supposed to contact an agent in the mines who is a V.E.R.M.I.N agent to get more info. Not sure if she meant Zeruhin mines or Palborough. Can anybody shed some light on this?

This quest is also available in San d'Oria from some chick at the Tavern, and it works the same way except you go to the Ordelle Caves and talk to the very first NPC to acquire the spray.

i've only gotten the quest, but havent tried to get there, it is pretty far in the canyon, so you should be really careful and run there or take a party with you.

When you enter Shakhrami Maze, immediately inside, to the left, is Ahko Mhalijikhari. When you speak to her, she will spray you with a chemical that will attract the pests you need to exterminate. The "spray" is a level down effect. It definitely doesn't limit any lower than 20, but can't speak as to the exact limit. The pests are found after you take the first right fork in the first room, but don't have a name for them, as bit the dust shortly after encountering a pair of goblin butchers...
