I heard this quest increases Norg Fame can anyone cofirm this
RE: Norg

From what I've seen, this quest can LOWER the Norg fame. Norg = Tenshodo, and they hate people who help other people. So if you're trying to get Levithan and/or Ninja scrolls unlocked, my advice is DO NOT DO THIS QUEST AT ALL until you have at least completed the scrolls/Levi quests.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 15 2004 at 6:34 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) it doesnt, you get fame in Sandoria and Bastok - nowhere else.

Question
# May 27 2004 at 6:06 AM Rating: Decent
Does handing in Boyanda moss give u more fame than handing in cabbages or millioncorn ?

Example if I handed in 5 stacks of moss, will that equal to handing in 10 stacks of cabbages ??

one trade is one trade, the effect on your fame is the same no matter which items you chose to give to him

Actually, you get fame for each time you do the quest. If you do the Boyhoga Moss, you have more times to do the quest and get more fame/stack.
hmm

I handed in 30+ stacks and in Sandy they still have barely heard of me. Guess I need a few more dozens...

In addition to the city who owns the Zulkheim region, there are always sold by a merchant in the city that's number 1 in conquest. (ie Aveline in San D'Oria South)
Cabbages

the cabbages can be found in the city who owns Zulkheim region.

What Item
# Apr 04 2004 at 9:42 PM Rating: Decent
What is the best item used for this quest? my highest level character is 30, so keep that in mind. Gobbues may be kind of difficult. As for La Thiene cabbage i may start making that, however..is there any way to make millioncorn? THat may be easier...thanks for the help.

The best item is Boyhada moss - just buy the stacks off the Jeuno AH. You'll earn 7200 per stack, so don't purchase them for anymore than that and you'll break even. Super easy. ^^

As stated earlier, you can get La Theine cabbages (x6-10 I believe) from gardening using brass flowerpot+vegetable seed+water crystal. What they DIDN'T mention is that this also can get you huge stacks of fire crystals (x16-20) which you can sell or use for synthesis, thus both increasing your fame and getting you money (or saving you money)

(editted for clarity)

Can someone confirm that this DOES increase BOTH San d'Orian and Bastok fame? It would really mean alot if someone could.

This does indeed increase fame in both San d'Oria and Bastok, and as a result it increases fame in several other places as well. This is THE best quest in the game, fame-wise. Good luck!

I've been repeating this quest for the past few days. When I started, I had no fame in sandy, level 3 fame in bastok, and no fame in Jeuno (or very little).

After turning in 23 stacks of Cabbage, I was able to get Gobbiebag 1, and the Goblin Taylor.

Since then, I have turned in another 33 stacks, and I have another 33 to turn in when I log on today.

This quest is GREAT for building Jeuno, Sandy and Bastok fame. After I turn in this set of 33 (which will raise my total up to 90). I'll go check my sandy fame, and my bastok fame again, and probably go get Gobbibag 2.
soloing
# Feb 16 2004 at 10:08 PM Rating: Decent
Pashhow goobbues can be soloed by any strong melee job around level 28-30, but it'll take a lot out of you. they should be easy work by any job by level 35
Doubling your money with million corn
# Feb 15 2004 at 12:43 PM Rating: Default
Hi Guys!

I've herad a lot of ruomours and I don't know if this is true. I've heard that some players have bought million corn at 20 gil a piece and given 3 pieces at a time to Melyon for 120 gil hence doubling your gil. I've also heard that the million corn sells at Rombarry's Grocer at 20 gil a piece when San is in first in the conquest tally. However I just went to Rombarry's Grocer, San is in first and they're not selling the million corn. Million corn is selling in Northern San but for 48 gil a piece from an NPC named Antonian. Can someone tell if I can buy the million corn at 20 gil piece from somewhere?

Thanks
RE: Doubling your money with million corn
# Feb 15 2004 at 2:03 PM Rating: Decent
It is not true.....as far as I know. And if you want to buy million corn or any other item that the stores get when they are #1 or #2 in conquest. You have to be allied with that country. I.E if you want to buy million corn in Rombarry's Grocer San D'oria have to be #1 and you have to be a San D'orian. FYI, they sell million corn for 47-44 gill....

just wondering, do you get fame in jueno from this quest, no matter who is currently controlling selbina ??
fame in jeuno etc.?

Does this quest give you fame in jeuno and sandy and bastok?
#erdrickgp, Posted: Feb 12 2004 at 4:49 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Selbina only gives you Sando fame. Rabao gives bastok fame. Mhaura and Kazham are Windy fame. Norg and a few other quests cout towards Tenshodo fame. Jeuno seems to be based on total fame. I have the same fame level in Jeuno as I do in Bastok. (Both say that everyone knows me) But, my fame in Windy and Sando are only mediocore. (People are starting to talk about you) So, it can't be on the average of your two lowest fame areas.
RE: fame in jeuno etc.?

Wrong

Selbina does give Bastok fame.

Ignore this poster.
RE: fame in jeuno etc.?
# Feb 11 2004 at 11:39 AM Rating: Default
It gives you fame in Sandy and Bastok, which may in turn raise your Jeuno fame. Jeuno fame is based in part on the lowest of the three starting cities, so if your Windy fame is lowest, you will not increase your Jeuno fame by repeating this quest. If Sandy or Bastok is your lowest, you will.
#Anonymous, Posted: Feb 06 2004 at 1:42 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) bought million corn for 20 a piece in san doria. you can turn them in for 120. you double your money.

I found cabbages in Windy cooking guild for 18 each once. Bought 9 dozen and turned them in at selbina at a profit of 2 gil per cabbage. Not even enough really to pay for the chocobo costs to get there, but good deal as I had to go to selbina anyways to turn in a monument engraving..

And Gobbues in pash would con DC-EM to a lvl 25, so depending on your class you might be able to barely take them, but probably not regularly or speedily enough to really farm them effectively. if you go fight them in party watch out because they have a AE silence skill.
Decent fame & money

You can get the bohoyda moss for free by simply farming some Gobbuues... problem is they are few and far between, you have to run around a lot in rolanberry and marshlands to get them, but I came to selbina with a stack of 12 and turned them in 1 t a time for an easy 7200g
Never tried

moss also drop from the Goobbues in Marshlands (easier than the goobbues in rolanberry). these goobbues also drop tree cuttings which can be harvested into nice items.
