Description

The Mayor of Selbina, Abelard, wants you to find stone monuments left by a certain adventurer and copy their writings to clay. He gives you a lump of selbina clay.

How the quest works

When you talk to Abelard, he gives you a piece of clay and you are requested to bring imprints of stone monuments from around Vana'diel. These are found in all the outdoor areas, not in dungeons. Trade the clay to the monument to get an imprint, take the imprint back to Abelard and repeat for the other monuments. There are 17 monuments in total. You will receive money for each of them depending on the difficulty, and once you have done 15, you automatically receive a map for Crawlers Nest. After you get the map, you can receive the clay again for the next monument. But since you are likely to want the Crawlers Nest map before you are a high enough level to get the last two imprints (from Battallia and Sauromugue), I recommend this strategy.

The Monuments

The stone monuments are listed in chronological order:

1- South Gustaberg K10 - 800gil

"I have been traveling on the seas for close to 40 years now... But there is so much that I do not yet know about the world. People seek refuge in the towns and villages, away from the battered environment outside, interested only in what concerns them directly. To know that one is still alive, means you are still safe and living in bliss. As for myself, I have decided to devote the remaining years of my life to exploration, traveling across the continents, filling my insatiable appetite for curiosity. The world of Vana'diel is so large, how can anyone not be driven to understand more about the world that we live in?

This first engraving marks the start of my trail, leaving behind my beloved hometown of Bastok, I can only see the distant hills popping over the horizon. I wonder how many of us will stop and take a look at this engraving for generations to come. But I wish they would go forth and fulfill whatever desires and hopes they have been keeping in their hearts."

C.E. 748 Gwinheim Ironheart

2- North Gustaberg -3000 gil Head northeast of Dangruf Wadi to the stream of the waterfall. The monument lies in the cave behind the falls - 3000gil

"At the top of this mountain stands the pride of the Republic of Bastok - Palborough Mines. It seems there are plans to build a memorial to commemorate the pioneers who opened and worked on the mines there. At the time of my visit, they were still preparing the stonework for the construction. And surrounding the memorial site were tombstones... some unmarked and nameless after years of exposure to the weather. The strange thing is, our history books didn't mention much about these pioneers, and these tombs might be interesting enough to investigate them.

Perhaps it stretches back to a time when Bastok was still a poor backwater village built on a cliff, until the present day when construction of the Metalwork's was completed. But one day, a mysterious explosion accident within the mines claimed many of the Galkan miners' lives while at work. When news spread, the world was divided as to whether the Galkans who perished on the job should be considered as heroes.

But one fact remains, they are the true pioneers who opened the path of prosperity of this wasteland. And the remains buried underneath the tombs are truly the heroes, at least in my heart. As a tribute to these nameless workers, I shall rest here for the night and drink the night away."

C.E. 749 Gwinheim Ironheart

3- Konschtat Highlands G7 - 1000gil

"The strong Odin Wind blows often over the highlands. The traveling Bastokian merchants were clever enough to take notice of the raging winds and built these windmills to harness its power. The purpose was clear: flour milling. Bastok is the biggest cotton producer in the world. But to feed the hungry nation, wheat from San d'Oria is a necessity that cannot be ignored too. San d'Oria has a huge surplus of wheat. Bastok then buys over the wheat from San d'Oria at a low price, processes them in these mills and in turn, sell the flour as a trade commodity. And the link to this trade relation between San d'Oria and Bastok lies in these windmills! Interestingly, even when 2 countries are faced in a war, both sides can be embroiled in a conflict for ages but no matter what, there is surely a time when a battle has to stop for soldiers to sit down and have some freshly baked bread.

Cheers to the merchants!"

C.E. 750 Gwinheim Ironheart

4- East Ronfaure G11 - 800gil

"The Ronfaure forest where I am standing, had been the royal hunting grounds for the Elvaan Royalty for generations, and its beauty has been more or less preserved from ancient times. Those who are brave would flock down to the annual Autumn Hunting Festival in this forest, pitting their skills against each other for the best game. Alas, though the event was grand, I was pretty bored of it. One of the reasons is the game animals available. In the past, people used to hunt pheasants and deer's here, but ever since their extinction, they have been replaced by Wild Sheep and Rams. It's so obvious what one can possibly hunt here, there is no sense of accomplishment anymore. Furthermore, these sheep have a voracious appetite and grazed constantly on the grass and the roots of trees. Ultimately, the fabric of the ecology of the forest will be at stake. If that ever happens, I hope that this engraving of my thoughts of the beauty of the forest can still be read by our descendents."

C.E. 751 Gwinheim Ironheart

5- Jugner Forest H12, 2 tigers guard the cave to the stone - 1000gil

"Trekking through the dark and gloomy foliage in the afternoon, my hungry pet bird, Molten, suddenly started pecking on the soil beneath us and dug up a funguar. Although this funguar Molten found was a common species, it kind of reminded me of the rumored existence of the legendary 'King Truffle'. Using Molten's keen sense of smell, I managed to find more funguars along the way. Looks like tonight's menu is going to be Funguar Stew. Lost in the forest for what seems like an eternity, finding such funguars is such a blessing to us hungry travelers. And they can save you too! Of course, you do have to remember to feed your pet chocobo first...."

C.E. 755 Gwinheim Ironheart

6- Rolandberry Fields K11, Beware of Evil Weapons - 3000gil

"The warm and soothing Garuda Wind whistles across the fields. This whole area is occupied by the orchards where the popular Rolandberries are cultivated and grown. The fruit has a crunchy texture like apples, with a tart taste but just a tint of sweetness. It leaves behind a very unique aroma in your mouth and makes a refreshing end to a meal. The exotic fruit also manage to attract even the mainly-carnivorous Arcanas. Recently, to protect the orchards from the nocturnal Goblin bandits and the Yagudos, extra security and patrols have been tightened. Not only is the fruit valuable, but what lies inside is also valuable. Beetle grubs live inside the seeds of the fruit, and the mucus they secrete ferments the fruit, making its taste even more tart than it originally was. Connoisseurs around the world would pay a high price for a taste of a fermented Rolandberry. Harvesting these fruits and exporting them around the world, this was how the once-tiny village of Jeuno grew and prospered to become the Grand Duchy it is today."

C.E. 757 Gwinheim Ironheart

7- Battalia Downs Battalia Island to the south - 10,000gil

"There are many tomb mounds here in Battalia. According to legends, our first ancestors, who were created by the goddess Altana, first set foot on Vana'diel right here, in Battalia. A long time ago, when the Elvaans were nearing their end, they would travel here as a final resting place for them. As a symbol of wanting to get closer to God, countless other races came from distant lands, embarking on long pilgrimages to come here. To have such a strong religious faith is commendable. However, I have a different view. First and foremost, I would enjoy life as much as possible, respecting others' ways of life at the same time. Religion... well, that can be secondary. Life is short, you don't really have that much free time to think too much into things. I know I would be laughed at by my Galkan friends if I told them that...

However, there will still be people who believe in their faiths for a long time to come. Similarly there will also be people who are feeling lost with their lives seeking for a purpose."

C.E. 759 Qwinheim Ironheart

8- West Ronfaure I10 - 800gil

"It's been 10 years since I last stepped on this land. The Orcs who have been dwelling far up north have started to show some signs of activity, and that worries me a lot. This kingdom's very fabric of livelihood and pride lies in this forest. But the Elvaans are a race that are very proud of their own culture and treat the others as crude lower-class barbarians. They think the power of the Orcs is too insignificant and is no match against their chivalry. But, let this old man prophesize, that one day in the near future, tens of thousands... no... hundreds of thousands of Orc soldiers will invade the forest and take over this lush and beautiful environment. Though it is wishful thinking on my part, I hope someone who is kind enough to take time to read my plea on this engraving, would take heed of my warning."

C.E. 761 Gwinheim Ironheart

9- Valkurm Dunes E9 - 1000gil

"The view may be beautiful, but the broken grass at our feet is testimony to the inhospitality of this place. The shallows repel anchoring ships, with nothing for miles but sand. Indeed, these dunes are ill-fit for any purpose save sunbathing. One day I happened upon a young swimmer struggling for air. I swam out to save her, and as a gesture of thanks she led me to a fascinating place. To a small inlet she guided me, to show me the dolphins, no doubt. None were there, but I noticed the bay was a natural harbor. I was a sailor in youth, so I knew this to be an important discovery! The harbor I named "Selbina." Upon seeing her name inscribed on my map, the girl clapped her hands in joy.

--Gwynham Ironheart, 762 Crystal Era."

10- Pashow Marshlands F6 - 1000gil

"This marsh that I'm standing on, has been the domain of one of the Arcanas known as Quadavs for centuries. Many explorers who have tried coming here never returned. But in order for me to complete mapping out this region, it is a dangerous sacrifice I am willing to take for the better of the future generation. Although the risks are high, as I filled in each square on my empty map, the sense of accomplishment kept me going. In the midst of my exploration though, I was caught by the Quadavs when I absent-mindedly lit up a torch. I was taken to their village and found that their houses were made of various precious metals, as a tribute to their own gods. Initially the Quadavs thought of us as a barbaric race when they saw me lighting a crude reed torch with Tarutaru fire magic. But after I taught them the intricate skills of blacksmithing and metallurgy, they were grateful for this unexpected lesson. Seeing that this skill is invaluable to them, the Quadavs set me free and even escorted me on a tour around the marsh."

C.E. 763 Gwinheim Ironheart

NOTE: The one in Pashow is sometimes guarded by a Malboro.

11- La Theine Plateau J7, Go down the gorge at H7 and follow the cave roads to the monument - 1000gil

"This plateau is a land of many features, but by far the most memorable is the Crag of Holla.

I call it a structure, for I have no other word. It is surely not a rock born of nature, nor does it seem to be a hall built by the gods, as the priestly scholars say.

Yet there are no seams in its bone-white surface, and it is faintly warm to the touch. But through a fortunate accident, I have found proof of its artificial origins.

I shall head north to the land of Valdeaunia to verify my findings. I ear this may be the longest, most perious journey of my life.

I leave my daughter Enid to find her own path.

May the gods watch over her in my stead."

C.E. 764 Gwinheim Ironheart

12- Sauromugue Champaign I9, Accessible by going thru Garlaige - 10,000gil

"We live on 2 main continents: Quon Continent and the uncharted Mindelcia Continent. Linking these 2 continents are the Straits of Jueno, also the narrowest straits in Vana'diel. Beyond the straits lies Sauromugue, the Gateway to Mindelcia. At the peak of the San d'Orian Empire, it once occupied this land with a castle built for the Royal Cavalry. But on one night, 3 Tarutaru mages infiltrated the castle, turning the chocobos wild and defeated the Cavalry royally. And that was how San d'Oria lost its hold on this land. This is the well-known 'Fall of Sauromugue' incident. However, the military schools in San d'Oria never included this in their history books. Since I'm here on these historically notorious grounds, I couldn't help but look around this blood-spilled lands. But what's past has passed...

There's not much use harping on about the past, nothing will be accomplished. I personally hope to build good ties with the Tarutarus and Yagudos. Who knows, one day a bridge may be built to link the continents together in the future."

C.E. 770 Enid Ironheart

13- Meriphataud Mountains J10 - 1000gil

"Doragora's Spine: Tarutaru for "Spine of the Heavenly Dragon." It is made of that same white material as the holy crags. However, this is the first I have seen so exposed. A good portion of it is suspended in open space, no less. In San d'Oria the papsque claims that they were monuments built by Altana in honor of the Elvaan. All believed him but I feel that this cannot be true. This is merely conjecture, but I feel they resemble some sort of road or pipeline... But carrying what? If only I could show my father. The white crags, spines, points and lines... What did my father discover at the end of his journey? I wish I knew."

C.E. 773 Enid Ironheart

14- Tahrongi Canyon E5 - 1000gil

"If you take a look at Tahrongi itself, it is an inhospitable place to be in: undulating terrain, harsh weather, and not forgetting the monsters that dwell here! But what pains me more than all of the above, is to be struck down with heatstroke. Before I embarked on my journey on this continent of Mindelcia, I thought I had enough traveling experience to handle most difficulties. And yet, I have no idea how to deal with a heatstroke. Not even White Magic helps...

As the high temperature sapped my energy away little by little, I struggled to look for a safe and shady spot to rest, but there were none to be found. At that very moment, I looked up and saw a white object in the distance... it was the fossil remains of an ancient dragon! And nearby, I found a cave by the side of the canyon wall. I learnt that I can replenish some fluids by picking the cacti that grow around the cave, and rested inside this cave until I was well again.

I am grateful that I'd chanced upon some kind men who taught me survival skills in this arid desert and so I engraved their names below in honor of them. For the three brothers who perished later under a heat wave: Gilbo, Maji and Naville - I salute you."

C.E. 774 Enid Ironheart

15- West Sarutabaruta G9 - 800gil

"Now, five years after I first crossed the Jeuno Straits and began my slow southland survey of Mindartia, I have arrived at the southernmost land: the plains of Sarutabaruta. The Tarutaru who live here are a kind and friendly people; it is hard to believe their ancestors plotted the conquest of the world during the age of great magic. They too worship the Goddess Altana, yet they believe that she has a form here on Vana'diel called the Star Sibyl, who lives in a giant tree. I met the Star Sibyl, and she took my hand and spoke to me of everything from the current state of our world to the unseeable future. It was a wonderful experience. The Tarutaru have agreed to give me a magical ship to speed the rest of my Survey. I thank the Star Sibyl and her kind people."

C.E. 777 Enid Ironheart

16- East Sarutabaruta K6 - 800gil

"In the land of Sarutabaruta, comparing the cute little Tarutarus and the innocent romantic Mithras to others, no other civilizations in other parts of the world have as long a technological history as them. Take for example, the Horutoto Ruin towers that can be found nearby. Although the towers seemed to be found only within Sarutabaruta itself, deep below, the hidden parts can spread out far beyond the domain. I remember the last letter that I received from my father, Gwinheim, he drew a sketch of a tower with a caption under it that says 'Tower that looks like a Palm'. But the catch is, he found that tower in Baldonia, the northern lands of Quon Continent! From a distance, these Horutoto Towers bear a striking resemblance though.

This shows that the widespread ring of influence of an advanced culture existed in Vana'diel long ago, and I think that influence is still lingering on until this very day. Or am I just thinking too much?"

C.E. 778 Enid Ironheart

17- Buburimu Peninsula J5 - 1000gil

"I am now at a place called Buburimu Peninsula. There is a lighthouse situated south of the Peninsula which the Tarutarus call 'Kibubu Lighthouse'. Names aside, the lighthouse has been very useful in guiding merchant ships and fishing boats that pass the peninsula. Made of natural magical rocks found only in this area, the lighthouse is made simply by stacking these rocks into a form of a tower. At night, the stones emit an eerie glow piercing through the darkness. I wonder what kind of rock it could be?

I do have my own theory. Long ago, this area was said to be filled with ores and minerals. And among them is the mythical Orihalcon ore. Centuries passed and the minerals eroded the surrounding rocks and got combined together as the minerals seeped into the rocks. So all that's left to do is for a Tarutaru to cast magic on them and a lighthouse stone is created! But there are more questions that surfaced - why are these ores only present in this region?"

C.E. 778 Enid Ironheart

NOTE: If you choose to continue, you get two more pieces of clay for on of the last two monuments, and you recieve a Map of Crawler's Nest.

You don't need to choose finish after the 15th one to get the map, you can choose to get another monument and you still get the map to crawlers nest. I am not sure what the end reward is once you do all 17 though since it will be a bit before I can finish the last 2.

You can do them in any order, they're just listed in the order going from Bastok up north, across jeuno and back south to Windurst. You can complete them in ANY order though.

Sauromugue Champaign Stone Monument Instructions
# Feb 29 2004 at 1:19 AM Rating: Excellent
Sauromugue Champaign's Stone Monument is the hardest stone of all. I done it today and it was pain. I recommand do this last and I highly recommand do this when very high lvl or have 4 other high lvl help you. The funnel bat in there aggro all the way up to lvl 70 (heard it from my friend). And I also heard that skeletons in there will aggro to magic too. I'm a lvl 37 WHM and the funnel bat in there can kill me in 3 hits. Sneak is all you need, and invis for bomb. So make sure you have WHM/s in your party for sneak and invis.

http://freett.com/liene/Mp_Garlaige_Citadel_01.html

1. This is the first floor map of Garlaige Citadel. Go to I-9, you need 4 people to stand on the thing (let's call it door key) near the gate door to open it. This is gate one.
NOTE: There are 4 door keys, that's why you need 4 people.

2. Once you're in there you'll end up on this map. http://freett.com/liene/Mp_Garlaige_Citadel_02.html

You need to go through the gate 3 (H-6). Here is the hardest part. Do you see there's 8 rooms on G-6? Again, you need 4 people to stand on the door keys to open gate 3 just like gate 1. Start from the right, there's 2 door keys on the first 2 rooms and there's magic pot in there. And the last 2 door keys located in the last 2 rooms.

That's right a party of 6 people, only 2 can go through the gate 3. If the 2 people at the first 2 room are fast enough they may make it to the door. The people in the last 2 room? Nope!! Once you go through gate 3, make right and then straight. Exit is I-5

Why it's so hard? Cuz anyone who's going to stand on the door key and if his/her sneak wear off then he/she is dead. You can't recast sneak due to magic pot and without sneak you're stuck in the door.

3. Once you're outside you will be at J-10 Sauromugue Champaign. Go left to I-9 and find the stone.
NOTE: DO NOT DROP DOWN or you will have to go through the whole thing again.

I know my grammar are ugly so whoever understand me, help me make myself clear.

Great post; for some peace of mind, maybe one should use a Silent Oil. It lasts longer and only costs about 600gil (not a lot compared to the reward you get). Plus, presumably, you can use it without setting off the Magic Pots.

I haven't yet done this myself, though.

Battalia Island Stone Monument Instructions
# Feb 25 2004 at 12:57 AM Rating: Decent
Okay, I just did the Battalia one today and see a lot of people wondering how to get there, so here goes.

[Well, Step 0: Get a map of Eldieme. Duh.]

1) Enter Eldieme from Battalia via the southern entrance. This entrance is on the southern peninsula-looking area near Jeuno, south of the huge backbone wall thing.

2) Look on your map. The area you're in has four big rooms in a cross pattern, connected by several corridors. You need to make your way to the southern big room. This may involve fiddling with switches, which are found by going into any of the big rooms and then travelling "inwards" (i.e. if you're in the eastern room, take the west exit, you'll see a gravestone and then the lever). I don't know exactly how the levers work, but I do know that they're how you change which doors in the area are open or closed. Keep tinkering until you can get to the southern big room.

3) Drop through the middle grave in the large room. MAKE SURE IT IS THE MIDDLE GRAVE.

4) After landing, continue on your merry way. After moving maybe twenty feet, the map changes, and you can see an exit to Battalia to your southeast. Take that exit.

5) Congratulations, you're on the island. Watch out for a NM named Ahtu that might be waltzing around just outside the tunnel.

6) The Stone Monument is to your right as you exit the tunnel, about a hundred feet. Follow the rock wall.

7) Warp back, either with a spell, with a scroll, or Warrior-Style.

The monsters all conned IT to a WHM37. I would not recommend trying to fight your way to the island unless you are much, much higher level than 37. I sneak+invis'd, and it worked fine, the monsters in Eldieme are spread out enough that you shouldn't have trouble recasting when necessary.

Glad to help. Now go get those tablets.

RE: Battalia Island Stone Monument Instructions
# Feb 27 2004 at 12:57 AM Rating: Good
lol first of all, you buy the map from the jeuno chamber of comerce across from the lower jeuno auction house.

secondly the switches are VERY logical, each switch switches wich two doors are open on the closest intersection to it. For instance, when you go in, you have to sneak over to I think it's I-8 and switch the switch (btw the bomb uses sight so while near the switch make sure and invis cuz if your hit there goes your sneak and your DEAD).

thirdly, THAN you have to set one person into the intersection that opens up (have no idea about coordinates) while thing #2 sneaks back to I-8 and switches the switch BACK. Since the door's have changed position in that other room, lucky thing #1 is free to make his way to the south room and drop down and junk.

Most of the undead (ever) just use their senses to feel you out so all you need is sneak, the exception is the bombs. But their only in ONE place unless you unluckily run into a train or something...

So, needless to say, BOTH ppl have to have sneak and at least one with invis or is very sneaky.

Fourthly, when you want to return note that there is an exit in the cave you went through to get to the island. It's not labeled cuz they'd have to name it 'To Bat Downs, AGAIN' and... that would be repetitive ;-p. So unless you wanna be stranded (or you have a lvl 50+ escort with a map, suggested as theyd want to kill ahtu for their own 10k or an additional 10k ;-p note ahtu is not always there and spawns like once every 3 hours and you only get one drop of the quest item per battle. Newbies can get this too they just need ta survive the battle and hold onto the item till the quest is doable, lvl 30 w/ sandy fame).

I never met Ahtu so I can't tell you if you can just sneak or sneak/ invis passed him. might as well do both.

Eldieme is a dungeon where lvl 40- low 50s train so take that into account, most monsters are lvl ~60 and some (the terran ones) are 70! (the dogs may be in their 30s to 40s but will agro on you if your healing... they REALLY hate that)

There's acturally little room to manuever an hide in eldieme imo but you'll see for yourself, in the cave but for select parts, there's NO room to re-sneak so make up your mind quick and look at maps while in hallways. Theres nobody at the island but your group and Ahtu.

I beleive there is an auto method where it will 'automatically' reswitch itself after a set time but the one time I tried I saw a high lvl japanese dude than the thing switched and we went on our merry way. He may have had someone else who reswitched it, iduno... Anyway that was the north intersection NOT the one you want, that's for the teleport-mea quest I beleive... also that involved just sitting there in skeleton central for 30+ minutes!!

Again ONLY MAGES BEFORE LVL 40-50! you NEED sneak (or a bunch of sneak oil, like I said if it's not a pt of 3+ with at least 2 sneak mages you can't expect to live, and just to be sure sneak items are not recomended). If your lucky than another pt or your own will clear the area... but really, that aint happinin in less than a day in the cave as NO other party goes there at least as far as I've seen. also theirs a battalion of skels, ghosts, terrans and wolves!!)

Warp makes this quest much, much faster.

If you can use your home town regional teleportation service, it makes the trip to Selbina much faster; once you've done a supply run to the Valkurm outpost, you just need to teleport there and run south into town, turn in your tablet, and warp back to your home point near the teleporter NPC.

The simplest way to do the monuments near San d'Oria is to set your home point in San d'Oria, chocobo to the monument, warp back, then chocobo to Selbina.

You can do the same for the monuments near Bastok, though the trip from Bastok to Selbina takes a bit longer. I'm Bastokan, so I just teleported to Valkurm to drop them off. Since we don't currently control the Zukheim region, this cost me 800 gil each time, eating up all my profit on the South Gustaberg monument, but I figured that the time saved was more valuable to me.

For the monuments near Windhurst, you can use Jeuno as your base, use the regional teleporter, or take the boat to Selbina rather than chocobo all the way. Or just do one at a time as you find yourself in the area.

Another strategy you can use that would be even faster would be to bring along a WHM with the teleport scrolls. Set your homepoint in Selbina and teleport to whatever craig is closest to your goal, then warp back. This is what I plan to do with my LS when we get everyone on board.
Meriphataud Mountains?

I can't seem to find the stone monument in Meriphataud Mountains. I went to J10 and didn't see it... I'm guessing it's not in an obvious place (Or I'm blind. Most likely the latter.)

Anyone have any tips for finding the Meriphataud Mountains one?

For the record, here's the ACTUAL text at the Pashow Marshlands one:

These marshlands belong to a savage race of beastmen called the Quadav.
Many have ventured in these lands seeking fame and fortune, but were never seen again.
But I have vowed to make a complete map of Vana`diel--the guilt I would feel for leaving these marshlands blank far outweighed the danger of entering them.
During my survey, I made the mistake of building a fire and was promptly captured by the Quadav.
In their village, I was dumbstruck to see that their buildings were made of wrought metal!
As much as we use the Tarutaru magic of fire to light our smoking-pipes, the Quadav--a barbarous tribe by any account--had secretly harnessed much of Bastok's metalworking technology.
When I told them of my quest, they were most eager to help, releasing me and even going so far as to give me a guided tour of their home!

You need to go through Dangruf wadi to get to the Ngusta one. Go all the way to the NE geyser then N into the ravine in Ngusta cross the bridge and into the cave with the monument

Drachenfall water quest is here as well Beware of the gobs and pugs so dont do this too low a lvl.

For Batallia:

Go in the southern most bunker around J-10/I-10.
Using this map. You'll notice 4 main rooms on the first floor map. You want to hug left until your in the southern "big" room with the graveyards. Your going to drop down the center grave and you'll end up on map4. Basicly from there your going to go south-east until you hit that T itersection. 1 is a dead end. The other is the way to the island.

Those little rooms before the big room are 1 way access depending on which way the levers are flipped. Basicly I just waited there until someone flipped it and I got thru. You can take a friend to make it quicker. You'll need sneak for most of it, and invisible for the Azers near the door leavers.

Your on your own for getting back out, cause I warped, but basicly it drops you off right at the way you came in if you go back up the tunnel.

For Sauromugue Champaign you'll need 4 people to open the banishing gate. Haven't done it yet so GL!

Also these are both 10k rewards. not 3k/6k. :)

make sure you grab the quest in bastok for the drachenfall water quest. you grab the water for 2k then go behind the waterfall and grab the tablet for another 3k.

remember, when youget to the bridge cross it and follow it down past the waterfall.
Multiple Imprints?

Can you do several imprints on the clay and then return to Abelard, or only one imprint and then return to Abelard?

no when you use the clayit becomes a tablet.
Buburimu Peninsula J-5
# Feb 06 2004 at 4:14 AM Rating: Default
In Buburimu Peninsula, go to J-5 and you will find the monument easily. If you look on the map to where J-5 is; you may come to believe that the monument is on a piece of land that is inaccessible - that is NOT true. The monument is easily accessible and is NOT on that piece of land that is cut-off from the rest of the zone (thank goodness). There were virtually no mobs there at all - except for a Carnivorous Crawler, and few Goblins along the way (leecher, butcher, tinkerer, ambusher). If your passing thru Buburimu, you might as well make an easy 1k by trading the Selbina Clay with this monument and bringing it back to Alebard in Selbina.

the quest to kill Ahtu is from N sanD... close to the port area, from a guy named Vormacorte.

he asks you to bring him and engraved key from a small island in battalia, and i guess Ahtu is there...

forgive me if you can get it in windy too, cause i only know of it in N sanD
