In-Game Text

Description

You need to complete the "Teacher's Pet" quest and have Fame Lvl 3 before you can obtain this quest.

The students' answer sheets from their recent written exam have been stolen. The School of Magic urgently requests that you track down the answer sheets and return them.

Talk to Tauwawa in the same room as Fuepepe. She mentions an advanced student, Chomoro-Kyotoro was waiting to meet Ms.Fuepepe but disappeared so doesn't know if the student met with the teacher.

Chomoro-Kyotoro will be found on top of the Aurastery in class. (K6) Others in class mention his nervousness.

The item needed is a 'RARE' item called Test Answers; description: a pile of test answer sheets.

You get Test Answers from killing Wendigoes inside the secret room of the 3 mages. That room is inside the Inner Horutoto Ruins and you need a Red Mage, Black Mage, and a White Mage to stand on the symbols outside the secret door.

As for the reward, it is a scroll of Aspir.

You take the answer sheets to Fuepepe who tells you to take them to the principal (Koru-Moru) in Walls. He tells you to return to Fuepepe and also gives you a key-item for Chomoro-Kyotoro.

When you speak with Fuepepe you recieve a scroll of Aspir (25BLM/20DRK).

This spell sells for around 130k on Quetzalcoatl.

I highly suggest getting your fame up in all cities, not just because of the profit you can make off of selling certain rewards.

Later on in the game, you will absolutely need fairly high fame in all the cities for one reason or another, for a variety of extremely important things. If you neglect working on quests in any of the cities as you go along, you will find yourself having to spend a day doing nothing but quests to powerlevel your fame so you can get, say, the quests for the avatars or some other thing you really need.

This game is designed so that if you slack off on any part of it, you will end up regretting it. So, for this reason, I stand firm in the belief that to be a good player you must be a well-rounded player. Keep up with your missions, keep up with fame in all cities, don't slack off and just level only. You do yourself a disservice if you play that way. You may get to a high level faster than someone else, but believe me, you will end up doing the quests and missions at some point whether you want to or not if you wish to progress in the game. So might as well do them as you go like the game sort of guides you to do.

Although this is very true, IMHO I believe it is better to concentrate on leveling to a point. Although I am newer to the game (only a 31 whm, 15 blm, and 12 smn) I feel that quests should be done if you find the items (i.e. cornettes or mandie tops+bird feathers for windy), but one should not conecentrate on quests until they are high enough to either solo them, or buy the items. I am a smn, and of course I will go for the avatars at 20. However, I will farm mandies for cornettes (easily done due to higher level) or buy items to raise fame in other nations (bubbly burney in bastok). What you said about balancing yourself is quite true, but leveling is imperative. If you raise yourself by grinding, you can grind through the quests just as easily as if you grind through them at lower levels with a party. (Of course this does not apply to higher level quests, but lower level, repeatable quest for fame)

Farming cornettes are horrible... I spent atleast 2hrs killing mandies and only got 2-3 of these damn things even with a thf with TH2 in party

"Learn from your mistakes, and never try and cover one wrong with another. Think about what you've done."

The message Koru-Moru leaves hidden in the key item you get is a pretty good one, for those who actually bother to check this key item during the brief moment of time they have it.

Couldn't help but think "heheh, busted" upon reading that... Koru is a lot sharper than he sounds. XD

I got the quest, bought the answer sheets at the Ah, and traded them to te quest starter. She says to go talk to the principal (Koru-Moru), but when i talk to him, he doesn't help me finish the quest, buy just says something about riding dragons >_< did i miss something or have i encountered a bug?

Edit - never mind, i didn't realize that fuepepe gave me back the answer sheet after i traded them to her ^_^;;

A quest that might help get fame up if someone can afford to buy the items might be Paying Lip Service, personnally I find Windurst Fame a Pain and am happy I started there since I did naturally more quests there to start with.

Paying Lip service (Remi Shellsx2 or Beehive Chipsx3, I suggest Remi Shells for this quest as alot more gil effecticent), the quest is in Windurst Woods.

As for getting the Answer Papers, you can either buy them in AH for about 10K (not massively worthwhile for farming as it's Rare and it will take long enough just to get to the windigo in inner horotoru ruins) or to go get them yourself, you will need either a WHM, RDM and BLM or a portal charm. A DRK was hiring a WHM to open the door, since I main WHM I accepted but I already had the portal charm key item.

4 of us went and after some time (about 20~30 minutes) 2 drop in a row a 3rd dropped about 2 minutes after and the last about 5 minutes after that. We had a Black Mage with Escape to get us out. I suggest that in a party you will need a BLM with escape and if soloing will need warp else you will need to find a route out and the Portal Door can only be opened from the one side, you could get someone to wait the other side of the door possibly.

Since I had already done this quest (brougth from AH from others > misc.) I just sold my answer papers. got about 12K worth of stuff and payed 3K to help so got about 15K for about an hour and a half worth of helping. at level 37 however this isn't really that great a value for the that ammount of time.

I would suggest when you do the Lost Mail quest in Walls near the AH NPC. That you hand the mail in one piece at a time so you can build up your fame faster. The little extra gil you would make from handing in the mail in bulk isnt worth it.compared to making fame and gil.

I just became a level 20 DRK so i wanted to get this scroll.. I've done 20 Quests and did the Sardine quest 16 times and i had enough fame to get this quest.. i did the Teachers Pet quest but not the Let Sleeping Dogs Lie Quest that it says you have to have done... So it was pretty easy just going to buy the stupid answers..

For first and formost I believe Windurst was created for discouraging people to do this quest since the goddamn place is too f***in' big for some taru's none the less other races. I sat today and spend 8k on quest realated items and completed 29 of them. And finally unlocked the damn quest. Now I have to get the papers and I am set. Question is do I know and WHM's or BLM's to do the secret entrance with me.... /fume

you realise that that quest does not raise fame in windurst, or norg. It raises fame everywhere else though so it is still a great quest.

Discerning Eye is how I got to level four fame, then I wanted the avatar fights so I pushed up the rest by buying cornettes on my mule in bastok, then sending them to me and trading em in in windurst. I think i did about 40-45 and it only costed me about 2k or so, considering how much you get back.

Quest "Only the Best" does NOT increase fame in WINDURST.

It will raise fame in Jeuno, Bastok, Sandoria, Rabao and Selbina.

Windurst fame is a pain in the butt, most repeatable quests done to raise fame there is the Cornette quest and Bastore Sardine one.

Okay... after a bunch of searching and questing...

Level does not matter! (my lanfear did the quest on lvl.1)

You do not need to have completed "Teacher's Pet"

You cannot be doing "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" and this one at the same time.

You do not need any specific Rank for Windy.

THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS is Windurst Fame. It must be level 3 to acquire this quest. Trade 3 stacks of Bastore Sardines, and you should be fine.

Hope this helps.
RE: What needs to happen
# Dec 24 2004 at 2:03 PM Rating: Decent
Tnis is true, you DO need to complete teachers Pet quest to complete this. I did it on a few mules, and I got to level 4 fame and would not give quest. Did teachers pet quest and immediately it was available. Did it again on another mule, and was able to do it with level 3 fame once i did teachers Pet quest first. So it is not Fame alone.

I can confirm however that let sleeping dogs lie has nothing to do with this quest. My mule only had Teachers pet (and one other repeated quest for fame) done before doing this one.
RE: What needs to happen
# Dec 22 2004 at 7:00 PM Rating: Decent
I found you DO need to complete "Teacher's Pet"... I used a mule of mine (lvl 1, no fame from the start) and traded in 4 stacks of bastore sardines, that got me to lvl 3 Fame, but I was not able to get the quest from Fuepepe. I went and got the "Teacher's Pet" items and turned them in and then I was able to get "Making the Grade" right away.

I am Currently a level 60 Whitemage with San d'Oria Rank 6, I have Hero Fame in Windurst and did the entire time of the quest.

I could not get the Quest Giver to give me this quest and i had done the Teachers Pet Quest.

I read somewhere you needed to be Windurst Rank #3 to get it, this is NOT True.

I had done dang near evey quest, so i am not sure if there are any other prerequisites, but I am 100% certain that the quest "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie "http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=Windurst&fquest=226 [/link] is required to get the quest giver to give you this quest. and I am also 100% Certain that after you complete "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=Windurst&fquest=226, you must zone after before you can get the quest giver to offer this quest.

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
# Sep 25 2004 at 1:30 PM Rating: Decent
If you have the "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" quest, you have to do it before you can receive this quest. I did the Sleeping Dogs quest, left the zone, came back, and got this quest. I am fame level 5 in Windy and level 20, and had done the "Teacher's Pet" quest so many times it isn't funny, so that was the only other thing to do.

I am from San d'Oria and needed to do this quest. So, I bought 8 stacks of Bastore Sardines from the AH in Windurst for 800gp per stack. I then proceeded to Port Windurst and traded the sardines in one at a time to Tokaka (C-8). The entire process took me about 5 hours.

From there, I went out into West Saruttabaruta and killed Tiny Mandragora's and Carrion Crows for a 2-leaf Mandragora Bud and Bird Feather to do the Teachers Pet quest. Total time spent on that was about 10 minutes.

I purchased the Test Answers from the Windurst AH for 7K and did this quest in minutes.

Total time spent getting Aspir: 5 hours 15 minutes.

Unfortunately, the Yagudo Bead Necklace quest in Windy Woods and the Zinc Ore quest in Port Bastok only give Norg fame; I did the Zinc ore one about 40 times to get enough fame for Utsusemi and the fame guy in Bastok still had me at lvl 1 ><

I've heard of one other repeatable quest that'll get Windy fame up if you're willing to spend the time... If Bastok is in 1st or 2nd in conquest you can buy cornettes from the bard shop in Bastok Markets, take them to Windy and hand them into the Madragora Mad NPC in Windurst Walls. A friend of mine cleared his inventory and did this about 3-4 times... now has hero fame in Windy and didn't even spend that much gil.

I'm waiting for Bastok to get their butts moving in conquest so I can do this one. :)

This seems like it is the best way to non Windurstians to get good fame there... two quests, maybe three really decent repeatable ones.

'Mandragora Mad' is in Walls (1 x cornette or 1 x yuhtunga sulfur or 1 x one of the madra buds per repeat) and is really good - go out in Sarutabaruta and kill Mandys until you have a whole bunch of cornettes. If you're rich, buy them in Bastok or AH like some have said - but if you're not they don't take too long to drop. Probably 5 or more cornettes per hour for a lev 25+ job.

'Teacher's Pet' is in Waters(?) and you give 1 x bird feather (the pink one) and 1 x 2-leaf madra bud per repeat. The downfall to this one is that the mandra bud is RA/EX, so you can only do this once per trip to town, but it helps add up a lot.

Also, the repeatable with the missing mail in Walls (NPC at AH) is decent. There are at least 4 different 'letters' you can find (by killing rarabs and maybe Pygmaioi) that are RA/EX and you hand in to the NPC for fame and money. They more you have in the trade, the more money you get. What I mean is that if you have 3 pieces of the mail, hand in all in one trade for more money (lots) than if you handed them one at a time. The only con of this one is that you add on rarabs in addition to the birds and mandys needed for the other 2 quests.

I'm from Windurst, so I've done (or activated) most of the quests there and I got to Fame 9 without too much trouble.

just a suggestion.. if you are gonna do the lost mail in walls near the AH NPC I would suggest handing in the mail one at at time so you can build up your fame faster..you might get a little more gil handing in the mail in bulk but in the end fame build up with less gil made is better

The yagudo bead necklaces give you fame in Norg, as the cat burglar is "secretly" part of the Tenshodo. After repeating 39 times, you probably have enough fame to get your Utsusemi:Ichi scroll. Congratulations on that one, as it sells for upwards of 150k on most servers.

As for windy fame, the popular belief is to catch sardines and use that quest to up your windy fame. I'm not a big fan of repeating over and over, so I've not had experience with it personally. This is, however, what most believe works the best.

Good luck!!

A friend of mine and me decided that we wanted to do this.. Since her BLM is 25 [Silly boy has an underleveled sub ^^] and mine is 26..

I had quested teleport-mea before, which is level four fame. What I can remember from back then was the quests up to blaze spikes, crawler calculus, and then like 8 stacks of sardines. That's annoying 'cause you have to zone each time, but I was too lazy to do other quests.

Anyhow. Got the mandy-bud from leveling earlier in Yuhtunga, and then and bought the bird feather [Was lazy and the crows were only dropping eggs].. Did that quest, and then opened Aspir one.

Now.. This sucked cause me and my friend didn't know where to find wendigos. We found the three circles and just stood around. Finally I asked a RDM if he would come once we got a BLM came and he agreed. Then we waited for our BLM friend to come from Jeuno.. Had to escort her because she's only level 30.. ^^;

We all stood on the circles.. And then me and my friend went in. By the way, the circles look really cool..

When to the right once we were in that big room and through the fake door. We were able to solo wendigos easily, since I'm 47 and he's 56. Killed about five before one dropped, and then one more for our second one to drop.

Teleport-Mea'd to get out. Ran back to Windy. Talked to them, and then went to Koru-Moru [Which is in Walls. Check your map, you'll see where he is]..

Obtained Aspir. Yay. Go me.

Don't try and Aspir off of non-mage things. Me and him decided to be idiots and went and tried to Aspir off EVERYTHING in Rolanberry Fields. Needless to say, it only worked on the Goblin Leechers. Haha. But it was fun.

***You cannot get this quest if you have the quest "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" open and unfinished***

(This also is true in reverse, by the way.)

I also know this because it happened to me. Also, as mentioned here, you must have completed the quest "Teacher's Pet" at least once. And you need level three fame.
