Description

Place a bronze bed in your home house and after the next weekly update on Sunday, Moogle will tell you that sleeping in the bed has made him homesick and he would like to take a vacation. However, Moogle is ashamed to go home empty handed. He wants to give Papa Moogle a Power Bow because he likes to enter the archery contest at the fair. Mama Moogle would look very pretty with a Beetle Ring. Poor Moogle asks for your help in finding these items for him.

Bring the items to Moogle and he will tell you he will be back in a few days with a gift for you. Not to worry, he wont disappear. Later, he will return with a shiny new Mog Safe for you.

I know that there are people in the taverns that tell you a phrase for your fame, but How do you know what level it is? I see people talking well I have 855 fame or 15 fame or 20 fame, how the heck do find out a number?

From what I have read, here is how fame works:

1. Sorry but I have never heard that name before
2. I might have heard that name before but then again maybe not.
3. Hmm, that sounds familiar what was it again?
4. Thats a name I hear often, people speak well of you.
5. You have become well known in these parts
6. Most people in these parts know that name.
7. Almost everyone in this country knows that name
8. There is no one in this country who doesn't know that name
9. That name means a hero in this country

In San d'Oria it's Namonutice in the Lion Springs Tavern who tells you your fame, but I dont know about the other countries. Sorry :)

Getting storage quest
# Jan 25 2004 at 3:39 PM Rating: Decent
To those who are trying to get this quest: I had my bronze bed in my house for about a month but never got the quest. I believe this is because I put the bed in then rented a room in another nation before the weekly tally. Even though I came back I never got the quest. I removed the bed from my layout then moved it to a differnt position. Today (Sunday), sure enough, after the tally I got the quest. If you cant seem to get the quest, try removing it then readding it to your layout.
messed up quest
# Jan 25 2004 at 10:25 AM Rating: Default
This quest is BS. I've had the bed placed in my Mog House for 3 tallies, I've done 27 individual BASTOK quests, I've done the zeruhn soot quest alone at least 2 dozen times. The fame guy says "So you're ....? I've heard of you"

That doesn't include the dozen quests I've done in Sandoria. What the hell do I gotta do to get this quest?

Is it possible to take the bed out of your mog house and sell it after the quest has been completed?
RE: Completed
# Feb 02 2004 at 3:55 AM Rating: Decent
yes and its recommended.
after the bronze bed (and enough fame)
place a mahogany bed for next step in mog upgrade.
itmes needed:
1 shrimp lure
1 Selbina Butter
sell bed after completion.
after mahogany bed (and enough fame)
place a nobles bed for next, and i believe, final upgrade.
items needed:
1 Wool Hat
1 Raptor Mantle

I put my bed in the top right hand corner with the pillow aginst the wall with the fire place about 5 hours before the next tally and i got the quest on that sunday evening.

I think where u place the bed has somthing to do with getting the quest also.

I hope this helps.

it costed me 40k, so don't do it if you don't have the money and don't ***** about it if you can't pay, just do what ever one who is poor do: go to the hills and hunt stuff till you have enough, you aren't special just because you are poor, 90% of the people are on the same boat with you and they go and find their own way to get cash; b!tching about is not one of the methods

My moogle used my Stationary Set and wrote me a song today (Sunday) rather then go on vacation (workaholic?) even though I had the bed (though I can't say for how long). If he does one quest, will he not do the other, or can he do both or multiple quests at the same time? I was really excited about logging in to start the quest, and was quite vexed to only get a dumb song instead.

I would suggest if you are doing this quest to make sure you remove your stationary set and/or any other mog related quest items from layout before attempting it.

There is a mithra in windurst woods that talks about eating chocobo's, I wonder what moogle tastes like...

So, what determines which people get the quest then?

And how did you figure this out?
Question

Since this quest is listed under Windurst Woods, can this only be done in Windurst or does it mean the town you decided to start in? Any info would be great.

My testimonial
# Jan 05 2004 at 12:28 PM Rating: Decent
I finally got the quest to activate!

On a Tuesday, I put the bronze bed in my Mog House. I had about 16 Fame. The following Sunday, the quest did *not* activate.

The rest of that week, I kept doing tons of quests to get my Bastok fame up. After every 1 or 2 quests, I would go back to my Mog House immediately and check to see if it would activate, but it didn't, even when I got my fame up to 37 on Saturday afternoon. I logged out, and checked again Saturday night (Sunday morning) at 2am, and it still wouldn't activate.

The next day, Sunday around noon, I logged in, didn't do any new quests, and it activated! I just talked to the Moogle and it went to the cutscene.

I immediately got him the items he wanted, from the AH, and traded them to him. He was really happy. Since then, I have played for a couple of hours, but he hasn't come back from vacation yet. But I have a feeling that he will soon.

By the way, during this whole time, my character's highest level was Level 18 (Warrior), and actually I was raising an even lower level Thief. The Saturday night before the quest activated, I tried switching to my Level 18 Warrior to see if it would cause it to activate, but it didn't, so I switched back to my Thief, which was then Level 13. The following day (Sunday), it activated without me raising any new levels or doing any new quests.

So, based on my experience, it seems that there are two possibilities that determine when the quest will activate:

1. Once you get modest fame, which is greater than 16 (I'd guess around 25 or so), you must wait until the following Sunday for the quest to activate.

*OR*

2. Once you get very high fame (like around 35), the quest will activate after about a day.

Based on previous testimonies of getting the quest with modest fame, I'd say that "1" is correct and "2" is incorrect.

I hope this helps you. Just to be safe, I'd recommend doing as many quests as you can. Many of them won't activate until you get around level 30 fame, and then more quests will open up for you.

Good luck!

Wrong, wrong and Wrong. This quest has zero to do with fame in any city.

The very first line of the quest tells you what you needed to do to get the quest. The Mog says that "he enjoys sleeping on the bronze but and it makes him miss his home."

All you have to do is buy a bronze bed, place it in your Mog house and wait a few days, up to a week, real time and the Mog will just offer the quest.

Buy him a power bow and a beetle ring and teade both of them, at the same time, to him. He will then thank you for being a gracious master and leave. Don't worry a replacement mog comes to take his place.

The mog will return a few days later and give you and incresed Mog safe size.

Well, I got a bronze bed, about a month ago (real time)...still no quest. It's been sitting in my mog house, under the window (NOT in the safe), the whole time.

I don't have very much fame, and I haven't done many quests, so your simplified view of this quest is not correct. There is more to it than simply buying a bed and placing it in your house.

ya, the quest only activates after the weekly tally (sunday) so dont bother checking back all week haha. normally it would activate the first sunday but since you didnt have enough fame, you had to get more and wait for the nexttally.

Someone posted below asking about the next one to increase the safe size to 70. The next two mog safe quests are basically the same, put a bed in the mog house, wait for the tally, and if you have enough fame the moogle will ask for two items. Give him the items, wait a bit, and your storage will increase.

Mog Storage 70:
Place Mahogany Bed in Mog House
Give Moogle Shrimp Lure and Selbina Butter

Mog Storage 80:
Place Noble's Bed in Mog House
Give Moogle Raptor Mantle and Wool Hat

Note: These quests require some extent of fame to activate, along with a nice bit of gil to complete.

If you could provide the official titles of these other quests, allakhazam can add these quests to their database.

Wait till 26 for a power bow? 16 for the bed? It will cost you more in time to get the skills up to that. Bronze beds are going for 4K in bastok AH. Power Bows, well they've always been expensive. Get the 10 extra, you'll save the money in the long run. Look at all the extra crafting crap you can store now to build up your level to that.

My question is actually different then the others posted here. Is there anyway of getting the Beetle Ring or Power Bow WITHOUT having to buy them at the Auction House? Is there a quest for this or a shop you can buy them from? There must be a way or they wouldn't be on the AH.
