The Tenshodo is gathering expert thieves to its fold. Carry out your orders by handing the Tenshodo envelopes to the appropriate people and having them sign the documents within.

Start this quest by talking to Nanaa Mihgo at J-3 in Windurst Woods. Next, head to the Tenshodo headquarters in Lower Jeuno; to get in, you will need a Tenshodo Invite.

Just inside the HQ, talk to Harnek for a cutscene in which you and several other thieves are given envelopes and sent out to find old members of a legendary band of thieves. You are told to find a galka thief in Selbina.

Head to Selbina and talk to Elfriede at J-9 in the Shepherd's Muster Inn. In a cutscene, the thief Sneaking Tiger appears and says you must prove you are worthy by bringing him a Quadav Stew. The stew can only be stolen from certain quadavs in Beadeaux, including Garnet Quadavs, Silver Quadavs, Zircon Quadavs and Bronze Quadavs. Using thief as a subjob on a different high level job works ok for stealing the stew. Once you get the stew, return to Selbina and trade the stew to Elfriede for another cutscene with Sneaking Tiger. Then head back to the Tenshodo in Lower Jeuno and talk again to Harnek. After the ensuing cutscene, you receive your Marauder's Knife.

1/1 on a Silver Quadav pulled from the top :) didn't have the quest started. Good luck to the rest of you!
Went 1/2

One of the few things that actually went quickly for me in this game. At first I tried a Zircon quadav then failed, so I fled out of Beadeaux. I came back in shortly after and went for a Bronze Quadav. So I started fighting it and completely forgot that steal had a recast on it, so 2 and a half minutes later, I managed to steal from it and flee out of there with just 75 hp left.

2 tries got me it, just go through the sliding door to the left of zone and try to steal from silvers then flee to zone and repeat
Easy for me or just luck?

1/4 from the Silver ones. WHM73/THF36. Flash pulled from the 2nd level down, then used Repose to sleep. Got behind the mob and stole. When failed I just used flee and zoned (WHM isn't the most awesome DPS there is).

this quest is the gayest thing I have ever done im 0/22 now and im really getting pissed off, and its all misses, my mug works fine just steal. I can go to any other mob in any other zone and steal fine but these quadav no.. nothing SE really messed up on the sucesess rate
something to consider

I went to Beadeaux as 75 sum/thf for 4 straight hours I wasnt even able to successfully steal anything (constant "miss"). It was the strangest thing. Then out of curiousity I removed my staff grip and the very next steal attempt voila got the stew. I'm not sure if this is a bug or maybe I was just completely unlucky. seemed strange though.

Got the quest at 42, attempted 25 times by pulling a silver or zircon from the top and stealing and nothing, not even a coin. So after reading the forum here, I tried another approach. Went into the 2nd area where you need to silence yourself and get past the curse maker (twice) and up the ramp. Used a silent oil and snuck behind the bronze quadavs. Got it on 3rd try. Easy to solo these with utsusemi and bloody bolts.

Rabbit Charm and Key Ring Belt equipped.
Used Steal on a Silver Quadav and got it first try.
Good luck to everyone :D

So it says this quest is repeatable. Does that mean I can equip two with dual weild? I've noticed there are some weapons you can only hold one of.

Although it is repeatable, you have to drop the one you have, as it is R/EX and can only hold one. The quest is repeatable in case you drop it for whatever reason.
Got mine today

After 13 steals on Garnets I got my drop as WAR75/THF37 the last one I slept with sleep bolt then went behind it and steal, I don't know if it help to steal from behind a mob but it would make some sense.

I was in doubt of it was ok to steel with /thf but can confirm it is, you just need steal but I figure if you have some steal +1 items it would help but I was only lvl 40 THF so not sure if I could solo them and if so how much downtime.

Thou one must wait 5 min til steal is ready again :/
#REDACTED, Posted: May 28 2007 at 6:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) dude the fracking Garnet Quads and w/e are EP TO A 40 THIEF! y the heck u go 75 war/thf? I had my Key Ring Belt from the Bastok quest and stole the stew on the first Quad once i cleared the coppers so no links.... Oh and i read a post farther down bout 1/4 a page... it IS easier to steal from a mob from behind... as THF main at least u can use a x bow, sleeping bolts, sleep the quad, run behind it and steal.
Not bad.

Just some hard data for you.

1st 11 tries i tried with 40THF/20NIN. The last 5 I used 75PLD/37THF.

Got it off a Zircon Quadav. It was facing backwards.

But to be honest, i don't think there is a technique that gets you it faster. Just patience.
Not bad.

Actually, here is some info i found.

# Success rate is dependent on user's level in comparison with the enemy's level.
# Certain enemy classes are easier to steal from than others.
# Usage of this ability from behind the target seems to slightly enhance its success rate.

So maybe these factors do matter. Maybe not, just putting it out there.

does drop in rolenberry
# Feb 21 2007 at 3:14 PM Rating: Decent
I would like to say, sadly i might add that this stew does drop in roleberry fields. I was stealing beastcoins there and got the drop (it was like 2 yrs ago). I didnt know what it was so I asked my LS at the time and nobody knew what it was for so i tossed it :( now i need it and im having a tough time getting it again. They may have changed it but it did drop in rolenberry for me.
don't engage?
# Dec 30 2006 at 2:37 AM Rating: Decent
tried twice as 43thf/21nin with no luck, so i switched to 74whm/37thf and tried twice, and on the second time i was engaged and in front of him and got the stew. so 1/4 and the "dont engage and stand behind him" bs isnt worth listening to.

Hey! I just Flee'd in a way RDM75/THF37, I was fleeing to get to Garnets and Silvers, and noticed they were up on the ledge. I Dia'd a Garnet Quadav and linked a silver with it, hit steal on garnet went 1/1 on Stew.

Happy Hunting people :D
Af Twice

Has any1 tryed doing this quest twice,if so how?
Mob lvl or luck?
# Nov 17 2006 at 5:58 PM Rating: Decent
I got it at the first steal I did. As 36 THF. With higher lvl mobs in Beadeaux. Wonder if it depends on mob lvl? The higher the better the rate?
Or maybe it was just luck lol.
# Nov 06 2006 at 6:12 PM Rating: Decent
Tried for almost 5 hours over the last 3 days...
Finally got it on the 54th try!!

0/20 as THF40/NIN20 - No luck
0/20 as WHM75/THF37 - Was worth a shot after nearly 2 hours of trying :\
0/13 as THF42/NIN21 - Went and lvled some and got the Key Ring Belt (Steal+1).. still nothing..
1/1 as THF42/NIN21 - Mugged before using Steal

I had tried from behind of course, sleeping them, getting them down to 3/4th HP or less, having someone else sleep or attack them while I stole.. just couldn't get it! Decided to try Mug before Steal and got it on the first try. I had got it to 3/4th HP, slept it, and got behind, just as I had been doing, but did Mug first and got it.. might be something to try.

Weird i got this at first try. It was one of the higher lvl mobs in 2nd floor Beadeaux. With 36 Thf. Just went there and steal.
Maybe you didn't do it with the right mob?
# Nov 18 2006 at 2:13 PM Rating: Decent
I was only trying on the Silver ones that I pulled from the 2nd floor.. Got it in the end so they had to be the right ones. :\ Oh well, just happy that that's over with!
