Description

> Here's an updated version of my Warp II walkthrough. It's much more detailed than its previous version, so I don't think anyone will get lost now.^^ >
> In order to get this quest, you must lead Shantotto to believe you're a total loser. >
> When you speak to her, she'll ask you a question. Off the top of my head, I can't remember what it is, but it's something about having a black mage buddy. Choose the second option. Shantotto will then ask you another question, and again, choose the option where she'll believe you're a total loser. (The second question I can't remember, but I think it's the second option too.) >
> Shantotto will bestow you with the title: Total Loser. >
> Before leaving Windurst, make sure you have some sort of warping ability, be it with a spell or with a scroll of Instant Warp. >
> Then, head out to Beaucedine Glacier. To get there, however, you need to travel through Ranguemont Pass in northeast East Ronfaure. >
> In Ranguemont Pass, you will see a pair of Elvaans standing before a glowing granite door. Speak to the one behind the podium and he'll open the door for you. Once past the door, continue forward, hugging the right wall. You will then enter an area where you must walk across some ponds. Right after it, you'll come across a fork with a Cave Scorpion at the intersection. Go to the left, but keep hugging the right wall. >
> Once in Beaucedine Glacier, follow the tunnel and head out onto the glacier. Keep following the one-way route until you pass the first tower. A little bit further, the road splits at (H-9) to the north and east. Keep going east as north leads to Xarcabard. When you reach the cliff, head northeast to (I-8) where you have to take the slope downward. Once you do so, head north and you'll see the tower at (I-7) where Torino-Samarino is at. The tower, at least when I went to it, had Living Statues in the first area. Head down the stairs and you'll see Torino-Samarino. Drop invisible and speak to him and you'll get the Key Item: Shantotto's New Spell. However, do not recast Invisible until you leave the sight of the Living Statues as they aggro to magic. >
> Head back outside to the glacier and head south to (I-9) and head down the slope once more. Head east to (J-9) then head north, past the tower and a frozen pond to (J-6) where you will need to head down another slope that leads to an open field. Here, make sure you have Invisible on as goblins and golems roam around the area. (Previously, I had said to Sneak up, but undead rarely roam here.) Head north and you'll see Fei'Yin. >
> In Fei'Yin, you'll find numerous magic pots, dolls, evil weapons and golems which all aggro to magic, so be careful when recasting your spells. For the most part, all you need is Sneak to traverse through Fei'Yin. Golems, however, do aggro to sight so be sure to cast Invisible when you see them. If you follow this guide, you should only encounter golems once and I'll let you know where. >
> Also, when I say "head north", make sure your character is running north according to the compass. By north, I'm not saying keep going forward. Just be sure to change your camera angle each time I mention a new direction. >
> Once inside Fei'Yin, keep walking down the hallway and you'll enter a small room with more than likely just bats in it. Keep heading straight and down a small flight of steps up until you get into another room, this one much bigger than the previous one you were in. Take the eastern (G-9) hallway. As you traverse through this hallway, it'll fork twice. Just keep walking straight until you come across another room. Take the northern hallway, which will curve to the west and down a flight of steps. >
> At the bottom of the steps, you should be safe if you need to rest up. If you see Underworld Bats roaming across the hallway, just walk up on the steps and rest up there. >
> Once ready, walk down the hallway until you reach a room at (H-8). Take the northwestern exit into a hallway that'll fork. Keep heading north and follow the hallway as it curves to the east, leading you to another fork; this one going north and east. Go north at the fork and stop a few steps short of the room you should now be facing. >
> In the room before you, you'll find golems. Be sure to cast Invisible or use Prism Powders now. The golems conned "easy prey" to a level 75, though they did not aggro. I'd hate to see what they do to someone not as high-levelled. >.< >
> Once you have both Sneak and Invisible up, head into the room and follow the left wall. Walk past two doorways and head into the third. Here, hug the right wall, past a room full of Dromas, and into a hallway. You've done it! Open the first cermet door on your right and you'll see a cutscene with Rukusu. Cast Warp on yourself, or use an item with an equivalent effect, to leave Fei'Yin. >
> Return to Windurst and talk to Shantotto. After a cutscene, she'll reward you with the Warp II scroll and the title: Doctor Shantotto's Flavor of the Month.

More Detailed Directions (For those with no map ;p)

Wow - my head is spinning after reading this. I may just save up and buy the scroll.

Mine was too... first time I tried this I had no map, and trying to follow those directions annoyed the hell out of me. Went back, did the quest for the Fei'Yin map, and made this guide for anyone WITHOUT the Fei'Yin map. You should be able to get to the NPC without needing to backtrack if you're paying attention to your <pos>. Yes it's detailed, if you can get by with the directions in the walkthrough, don't worry about them, these are for those of us without maps, or that want more detailed positions on the map for whatever reason.

Enter Fei'Yin at (F-11), follow the hall to (G-10), at (G-10) take a right, follow the wall to another hall at (G-9) take this hall straight to the room at(h-9)where you should only be able to go left and down another hallway. This hall should turn into stairs at (G-9) go down those stairs to get onto the second floor of Fei'Yin.

At the bottom of the stairs are underworld bats, these con {Easy Prey} to me as a level 68 whm. You should be at (G-9) still. Follow the hall to (H-8) you should be in a large open room. From here there are two directions you can go (Either way you need to get to(G-6)).

If you go left, hug the wall, you will see two hallways to your left hand side, ignore them, follow the wall up around to (G-6).
{Note, the second hall on your left taking this route will still lead up to Rukususu, however you will want to hug the left hand wall, his cell will be the last one on your left at (F-5)}

If you go right (North) follow the wall in the large room, you will see a hall at (H-5) Ignore this one and continue along the wall to (G-6)

Once you are at (G-6) go into the hall there and follow it to (F-5) looking to the south you should see two hallways, take the right one when you are facing south. Ruksusu will be in the first room on your right when you take this hallway south.

I shrunk the font for the two directions you can take to set them apart and attempt to seperate them from the rest of the directions. :P

Job level requirement
# Apr 04 2007 at 10:45 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone know what the new job level requirement is? After the update in March pol mentioned a job level requirement for this quest (as well as several others) in a news release, stating that there would now be a level requirement for this. They did not list the levels needed, but simply said "various levels" for the quests listed in the release. I can safely say that it is higher than level 6 as that is my mule's current level, as well as fame 5 and rank 2. Any ideas?

Ok, so I figured it out myself. The new job level requirement is 10, just in case anyone was wondering.

I might note that you actually do need to complete the quest as BLM. I did the majority of it on my WHM, and when Shantotto didn't complete the quest after the CS in Fei'Yin, I ran through it a couple more times, then tried the last thing that might have worked: I switched to BLM and talked to her, and I got the scroll. So make sure your main job is set as BLM when you finish the quest. =P

Sorry to have to bust ya out about this... I don't know where you went wrong but I started this quest as SMN and finished it as WHM with no problems. I even did the prerequisites as PLD1/DRK1 lol.

Well I just ran all the way to the first NPC without having even activated the quest because the guide above doesn't tell you that you need to talk with the windy NPC twice.

To clarify, talk to Shantotto and they will ask you a question about having a Black Mage buddy, choose the option that is like "Ask if you're worthy". They will then ask you another question and you select the option about "mommy".

This will grant you the title of "Total Loser".

After this is done, talk to the NPC again. This time select the 'worthy' option and then select the "whatcha talkin about" option. This qill give you the quest.

Also, you can Tele-Vhalz, you dont have to run through raugemont pass.

Edit: Took out some typos etc

Just completed this with a hgih level of fame, above 4 i assume.

couple thigns ide suggest chanegs on:

in Ranguemont Pass, there was no scorpian at the fork where you turn left. the scorpian was WAAAAAAAAAAY the hell off to the RIGHT tunnel. just be sure you still amke that left turn.

When you talk to Torino in the tower, i chose the first option and got the key item, as others have chosen the second option, so i assume that both work.

I never once encountered golems in Fei'Yin. there was no one else in the zone, so they couldnt have been killed. You dont even enter the room where a golem is supposed tobe, just licking on the door will activate the cutscene. i never needed to use invisible once as a level 64 red mage, though the bats and pots and ghosts on the lower level all conned easy prey to me, therefore sneak is needed. at around level 70, i dont think you'll need sneak or invisible.
licky-lick!

Woot! This is one of the best typos ever made from an accidental character omission.

I actually laughed out loud because of the image it put in my mind. For some reason, I immediately imagined the person doing the quest licking the door in a very sexual way, like they were pretending to make out with Rukususu on the other side.
well worth it...

i managed to do this as a 48whm/24blm with sneak and invis. got a little lost a couple of times (once in bg and once in fy) but still managed to finish the quest within an hour, thanks to the detailed directions provided. tip: if you do get lost, just backtrack to the last point you were sure of and try again.

it was a little nervewrecking, with sneak wearing at the most inopportune times (like within 10 seconds after i cast it, when i'm surrounded by 4 dromas), but the reward's well worth the sweaty palms. d2! wooot! ;)
good

Did this as a 36RDM/NIN. directions are almost too detailed :P But I dare say if you have the fame, take the claim. Simple invis/sneak quest. It's incredible how much this scroll costs in AH.

you're still on the quest before hand. You need to talk to the editor next to her house, and find out he's having some health issues. Later she should catch wind of this and will ask you to get some items for her, including some of his hair. You're just on one of the prequests for this, so no worries.

Right, I followed the instuctions. Got the key item, went into Fei'Yin and got lost though after I tried 3 times. So I warped back and talked to the quest person in windy, she gave me the title "Hexer Vexer" and told me to do some other crap about telling someone she was angry or something. At that point and bashed my head against the table and went to bed.. Anyway trying it again and going to glacier and Fei' Yin. Any ideas?
not receiving key item
# Aug 06 2006 at 6:58 PM Rating: Decent
I talked to Shantotto and she gave me the title "Total Loser" ... I waited a few RL days to actually finish the quest and my title is no longer "Total Loser" ...when I go to talk to Torino in Beaucedine Glacier, I don't receive the key item... any suggestions? :/
Easy
# Jul 22 2006 at 4:21 PM Rating: Decent
You don't need Total Loser to be able to do this... the second question asked has 2 options, "Yyes Mommy" and "Whatchu talkin' bout, Shantotto?" either option is fine. Picking "Yes Mommy" will give you the title "Total Loser" but it is not required. Pretty much all u have to do is talk to the taru in Windy then go to Beaudicine Glacier talk to the taru in the tower then go to FeYin and get the CS off the door.
To get the title Total Loser
# Jul 06 2006 at 2:38 AM Rating: Default
To get the title Total Loser:

1. Select the 2nd option, one where it says you don't have friend

2. Select the 1st option, something about mommy

To Start the Quest:

Just repeat but for 2. select, What you talking about.

Windhurst Fame 4 :

Zabirego-Hajigo ~~ Windurst Waters North ~~ Timbre Timbers Tavern

Zabirego-Hajigo : Why, if it isn't Cheatch! I heard some guys talking about you in over their dinners at the eatery last night.
Zibriego-Hajigo : They had nothing but good things to say about you. Keep up the good work!

Did this quest in 90 minutes solo as whm43/blm17 (for warp back to windy)
I had no map of beaucidine and Xarcabard so i followed everything what this walktrough did say.
I had a Fei'Yin map but didnt use it.
This walkthrough is perfect ^^
No single mistake and you really dont need a map.
Thx Yorlan :D

(btw, i also never got the title Total-Loser :( )
