Description

> Here's an updated version of my Warp II walkthrough. It's much more detailed than its previous version, so I don't think anyone will get lost now.^^ >
> In order to get this quest, you must lead Shantotto to believe you're a total loser. >
> When you speak to her, she'll ask you a question. Off the top of my head, I can't remember what it is, but it's something about having a black mage buddy. Choose the second option. Shantotto will then ask you another question, and again, choose the option where she'll believe you're a total loser. (The second question I can't remember, but I think it's the second option too.) >
> Shantotto will bestow you with the title: Total Loser. >
> Before leaving Windurst, make sure you have some sort of warping ability, be it with a spell or with a scroll of Instant Warp. >
> Then, head out to Beaucedine Glacier. To get there, however, you need to travel through Ranguemont Pass in northeast East Ronfaure. >
> In Ranguemont Pass, you will see a pair of Elvaans standing before a glowing granite door. Speak to the one behind the podium and he'll open the door for you. Once past the door, continue forward, hugging the right wall. You will then enter an area where you must walk across some ponds. Right after it, you'll come across a fork with a Cave Scorpion at the intersection. Go to the left, but keep hugging the right wall. >
> Once in Beaucedine Glacier, follow the tunnel and head out onto the glacier. Keep following the one-way route until you pass the first tower. A little bit further, the road splits at (H-9) to the north and east. Keep going east as north leads to Xarcabard. When you reach the cliff, head northeast to (I-8) where you have to take the slope downward. Once you do so, head north and you'll see the tower at (I-7) where Torino-Samarino is at. The tower, at least when I went to it, had Living Statues in the first area. Head down the stairs and you'll see Torino-Samarino. Drop invisible and speak to him and you'll get the Key Item: Shantotto's New Spell. However, do not recast Invisible until you leave the sight of the Living Statues as they aggro to magic. >
> Head back outside to the glacier and head south to (I-9) and head down the slope once more. Head east to (J-9) then head north, past the tower and a frozen pond to (J-6) where you will need to head down another slope that leads to an open field. Here, make sure you have Invisible on as goblins and golems roam around the area. (Previously, I had said to Sneak up, but undead rarely roam here.) Head north and you'll see Fei'Yin. >
> In Fei'Yin, you'll find numerous magic pots, dolls, evil weapons and golems which all aggro to magic, so be careful when recasting your spells. For the most part, all you need is Sneak to traverse through Fei'Yin. Golems, however, do aggro to sight so be sure to cast Invisible when you see them. If you follow this guide, you should only encounter golems once and I'll let you know where. >
> Also, when I say "head north", make sure your character is running north according to the compass. By north, I'm not saying keep going forward. Just be sure to change your camera angle each time I mention a new direction. >
> Once inside Fei'Yin, keep walking down the hallway and you'll enter a small room with more than likely just bats in it. Keep heading straight and down a small flight of steps up until you get into another room, this one much bigger than the previous one you were in. Take the eastern (G-9) hallway. As you traverse through this hallway, it'll fork twice. Just keep walking straight until you come across another room. Take the northern hallway, which will curve to the west and down a flight of steps. >
> At the bottom of the steps, you should be safe if you need to rest up. If you see Underworld Bats roaming across the hallway, just walk up on the steps and rest up there. >
> Once ready, walk down the hallway until you reach a room at (H-8). Take the northwestern exit into a hallway that'll fork. Keep heading north and follow the hallway as it curves to the east, leading you to another fork; this one going north and east. Go north at the fork and stop a few steps short of the room you should now be facing. >
> In the room before you, you'll find golems. Be sure to cast Invisible or use Prism Powders now. The golems conned "easy prey" to a level 75, though they did not aggro. I'd hate to see what they do to someone not as high-levelled. >.< >
> Once you have both Sneak and Invisible up, head into the room and follow the left wall. Walk past two doorways and head into the third. Here, hug the right wall, past a room full of Dromas, and into a hallway. You've done it! Open the first cermet door on your right and you'll see a cutscene with Rukusu. Cast Warp on yourself, or use an item with an equivalent effect, to leave Fei'Yin. >
> Return to Windurst and talk to Shantotto. After a cutscene, she'll reward you with the Warp II scroll and the title: Doctor Shantotto's Flavor of the Month.

Run Through

~This one is for people that want the straight up directions and does not want to read the essay above.

- Talk to Shantotto (K-7) at Windurst Walls.

After running back and forth between Windurst and Fei'Yin, I read bestTonto's post which helped out a lot ^^ Before you enter Fei'Yin, you have to talk to an NPC at the I-7 tower of Beaucedine Glacier who is named Torino-Samarino. He gives you 3 options, pick the middle one, althought the 3rd "you're a total loser!" is pretty humorous. He will give you the key item "Shantotto's new spell" and tell you to talk to Rukususu in Fei'Yin. From there, just head down 1 floor and follow the pre-posted directions.

BTW at lvl 70 RNG/NIN and RNG/THF I didn't get agro from anything even though they conned EP++. I didn't test the collosus as I decided they wern't worth testing since I had camoflauge.

ED: I also had some trouble with the instructions for Fei'Yin so I drew the path to follow here:

This is really a nice guide!!
Especially when you have the maps of Fey'in and Beaucedine Glacier.

Just did it as a lvl 25 RDM/BLM and it took me around 1h. And I didn't have any problems.

And you don't have to have the Titel "Total Looser".
I didn't have it but had the quest active in my log.

Alright people, the first thing that is really nessesary is to get the MAP of fei'yin. Keep in mind that the map quest is like the second librarian quest, so you have to finish the first one before you can get the map quest. Now that you know where you are going, just go to the glacier... and begin your long walk. You might want a map of this place too, because that shows the places where you can get down to the next lower level. Make sure you talk to the middle taru in the group of three so you can continue the quest. You can mess around with him and have no negative repurcussions. Fei'yin is the big crag looking thing in the northeast.

Now you are in... great, now that map can come in handy. See those two parts on the map where it fades away, those are stairs. COMPLETELY IGNORE the one in the northwest. You cannot get to that area from the first floor because there are obstacles you can only climb over from the other side. Take the stairs that are in the middle of the map. Now look at the second map. There is a big room in the center, make your way there. Go STRAIT across this room to the hallway on the other side, making sure you don't get any giant malboros of the capricious kind killing you. Follow the right wall around until you are facing south. There will probably be a couple ghost type mobs in this hall, and possibly a NM too. If there is a NM here, you might wanna wait for another time. The ghosts are just hp and scent, so you shouldn't have any problem with them. Drop invis at the first door on your right and open for your cutscene. Warp away and enjoy!

All I have to say is you need two things

1: A Great Guide (Thanks Drax)

2: Brand new Taru Nikes because you are going to be running your rump off.

This walkthrough will get it done 100% of the way

Friggin hell man, what a ******** quest, and I thought the teleportation scroll quests were retarded.

"Head north until you hit the slope at I-9 but don't go down the east end of the slope at the line between I-8 and I-9 lest you run the chance of running into Kirin who occasionally takes walks in the frozen north."

"After heading down the slope at I-9 you'll come to a road with 3 forks that meet up with each other at 3 different intersections. Make SURE you stay on the west end of the forked path or you'll fall into a pit with 3 dozen Zombie Tonberries. After reaching the end of the forked road you'll come across a very small cave, sneak and invis are useless here as 3 seperate incarnations of Vrtra roam these halls. As Vrtra has truesight you can see why invis is uselss, Vrtra also aggros to breathing or keyboard typing. Your only chance is to run like hell through the tunnels taking hits from the 3 Vrtra's along the way, make sure you have stoneskin up and re-raise or else YOU WILL DIE."

"Oh did I mention that if your not a lvl 75 white mage you have no chance in hell of pulling this off? After reaching the end of the cavern you'll see a teleporting device that will take you to a small enclosed area inside Dynamis Xarcabard, run into it quickly since the 3 Vrtra's are right on your tail! Once inside Dynamis Xarcabard.... Eh, who wants warp II anyway." -End of guide

What spell were you looking for again? No wonder you gave up. That sounds crazy and has nothing to do with D2.

I used the guide and found the right door to Rukusu but no luck to open door, do I need a key to do anyone know. Please tell me cause this thing is anoying /cry

I don't have the title Total Looser and cant find a option now to get it but Shantotto talk about Rukusu who should be found in some ruins in glacier so what do I do now, I went there but no luck with opening the freaking carmet door...

Getting the Title "Total Loser" doesn't mean you have the quest active. Make sure you check your current quests before you run to Fei'Yen for nothing.

I think it was option 2 then option 2 when talking to Shantotto.
New walkthrough
# Sep 20 2005 at 2:29 PM Rating: Excellent
1. Shanttoto in Windurst Walls (her manor is on the map) There are pre-quests you must zone and wait alittle time between the quests also im sure fame is an issue.
2. When she gives you the 3rd quest you must travel to the Beaucedine Glacier. The fastest way is tele-Vahzl, lets face it if you dont have this GC your probly not ready for this quest. In Beaucedine Glacier there is a Tower in I-7 (its on the way to fei'yin so you wont have to go far out of your way) talk to the NpCs there.
3. Now goto Fei'yin J-5
4. Inside you must go downstairs the staircase is in G-9 to get there turn right at you first intesection this hall will turn to the left, just follow it then go down the stairs
5. Downstairs you must go to the small room with a cerment door F-6 (there are ALOT of these rooms some containing sight agroing mobs, this is a VERY dangerous place so be careful.) To get to the room you first turn left at the first room you can H-8 next left in next room H-7 when you get to the Large room (youll know) stay to the left wall take your second left its heading west G-7 Right at the next intersection this hallway wraps around to the right the last room on the left contains The NpC F-6. You will get a cutscene when you open the door, if the door opens its the wrong door. Or if its "Locked from the other side" RE READ step #2.
6. Return to Shanttoto, Warp Away!

Note: Did this AS 60 PLD All I needed was oils, powders, warp cudgel, and time (hopefully this saves you some)
Also:
Bats agro sound
Shadows agro sound
Golems agro sight
Pots agro Magic
Ghosts agro HP
Miser murphy agros You

Followed these (new) instructions and found the places NP, ive been to fei'yin before for 5-1 though so i did have a bit of an idea where i was going, at 58 the golems in the last room were DC and only a couple of things in the galcier were EP, in xarcabard almost everything was EP. Good direction etc, take silent oils and powders (only used 2 of each).

In your pic under your "Who says Spiral Hell sucks?" link at the very bottom you have set "guages" telling you your xp, tnl, etl, etc etc... I was just wondering how you got that... nice job with Spiral Hell btw ^.-
Good quest, bad walkthrough

HORRIBLE walkthrough, what with its obscure discriptions! Following these directions, I got lost once, then wandered WAY off course a second time! Referencing to grid coordinates would've been a LOT better - I coulda felt my way through.

Everyone, in Fei'Yin, you're going right from the first room and following that hallway downstairs. And by 'doorways,' he means 'hallways,' so you're taking the northwest hallway in the large room downstairs.

I'll prolly post more detailed directions later.

I found this walkthrough very helpful... I am a 65 RDM who was helping out a friend do it and she was a 38 BLM.. So.. I'm really not sure why you say the walkthrough was horrible.. Maybe it's just you who can not understand such simple logic..

what?, where?, huh!?

Does anyone else think this walkthrough is lacking?
Quote:

How many rooms in Fey'Yin? 15-20? and of those, contain only bats? 5-10? Im on this quest, and will post Actual Positions when I have that info.

If shantotto give you the rude little "Why hello and oh goodbye message. Your fame is too low bottom line. If you run into this the easiest thing to do is buy some item from ah for a repeable fame quest, or if bastok is first or second in conquest go to bastok and buy a load of cornettes from Harmodius.

I HATE THIS QUEST

i can't follow these Fei,Yin instructions at all, i go where it tells me to go and i end up somewhere completly different :(

if anyones on pandemonium and can help me, that'll be great...

1. To get the quest, you aren't supposed to be a Total Loser. Ask if you can do it, and when she calls you a loser reply "What'd 'chu say Shantotto", to which she'll then let you go to Beaudecine Glacier. You won't even get the title Total Loser. (When she gave me the quest, my title remained the same from the last quest I completed)

2. You definitely need Sneak and Invis, and you'll probably want to take some silent oils too - although me and my DRK friend managed without with me as WHM 29, just so that you don't die of stress when you start seeing "sneak is about to wear" and you're surrounded by Dromas...bring some. =)

The bats don't aggro to magic so you should be ok if you recast sneak while in Fei Yin in the bat passageways. Just be careful. And don't forget Warp scroll or the spell either, so you don't have to walk all the way back out. (I got lazy so I bloodported :P)

3. If you're walking, be prepared for a long walk. ^_^

---

Best of luck if you're trying this quest. Warp II!

Well.. I have done the pre quests in order to get this and i'm having no luck. I walk in and talk to Shantotto but she gives me a speech about me not supposed to be there or something like that.

I am thinking I need more Fame, any help on this would be great.

# Aug 08 2005 at 12:04 PM Rating: Decent
Never try this quest as a WHM at 28. not only are the instructions a little tough to follow but if something does aggro via magic or anything your screwed.

Once i finished it i had fun watching a Colosus kill me in 1 hit but still get at least 35 if you want to have a chance to retry if you get aggro.
Warp 2 ? nope ... Pole of Trials ?????
# Aug 02 2005 at 5:23 PM Rating: Decent
Well I dont know if this has happened to anyone else but i haven't seen it posted so... This is what happened to me: I go through the prerequisite quests, start this quest, and eventually talk to the npc at the tower and at fei yin, I get the cut scene from him, warp back, talk to Shantotto again and i enter another cutscene, but do i get a scroll of warp2 ? nooooo instead he's trying to give me the pole of trials which i already have. I've tried zoning and rezoning and trying again and nonthing works... im more than irritated, upset, and pretty much straight up pissed. ggrrrr i hate this quesst. Anywayz, if anyone knows what's going on or how this can be resolved ... please tell me.

Ok, I have the Quest in my log and I have the title "Total Loser". I'm standing in front of the Cerment Door and I can see Rukusu. Everytime I click on the door it tells me 'it's locked from the other side'. There is only one way in that I see. Can anyone tell me why it won't let me in?

OMG.... I forgot to talk to Torino-Samarino.
Ignore me please. =/
