In-Game Text

Keal : We pirates call the cave connectin' Norg t'tha mainland the "Sea Serpent Grotto." Just like there be beastmen on tha continents, tha grotto has its share of slimy dwellers. Namely, the Sahagin.

Keal: And t'make things worse, those nasty little beasts have filled tha place up with trick doors so ya can't get t'tha deeper parts of the cave.

Keal: We used t'have a vault down there, but nobody's been able t'get close to it fer years.

Keal: 'Old on there. Yer that adventurer, PlayerName, everybody's talkin' 'bout. Perfect timin' there, matey. I need a hand.

Keal: That storage room I jus' mentioned--I need somebody t'go down there and fetch me a sealed iron box. Unless the Sahagin have thrown 'er in the sea, she should still be down there.

Keal: Don't think I'd ask ya t'go down for nothin' now, would ay? There's a pretty penny in it fer ya, if yer interested.

Asks Question:

Accept Answer: Keal: Spoken like a true pirate! Just go down t'the storage room and bring back the booty. It be as simple as talkin' candy from a baby.

Keal: I'll be waitin' 'ere for ya.

--

After completing:

Keal: That's what I was lookin' fer! Now, when openin' these, ya gotta be careful of traps. Ya do this...then turn this...then wiggle this...then...

Keal: Arrrg! Its contents are still intact after all these years. Oh yeah, yer reward. take this. It'll come in handy on yer landlubbin' adventures.

Obtained: Scroll of Tonko: Ichi.

Description

Speak to Keal to start this quest. He asks you to go into the Vault that was taken over by the sahagins. After you agree, head out of Norg with your trusty Silent Oils and go past the first unmarked gate. Head straight and vear to your right when you have the chance. Follow the passage aiming for the north west corner of the map. You should pass 2 more unmarked gate doors and several ghasts/oozes. (Everything is sound agro, don't worry, just don't run directly into their model) When you come into a broken down room with a boarded floor, you're there. Check the "Iron Box" object in the north east corner of the room, it's below a rack. Return the object to Keal (it's a Key Item, just speak to him) and he'll hand over Tonko: Ichi, the Ninjitsu Invis spell.

The quest description really does not give good directions, as someone noticed before. But it's much more straightforward than it looks, and so obvious that I really did not understand why nobody said that before.

After you leave Norg, just follow the right wall and keep walking! That's it! You will go through a total of 3 doors in your way there. The pos of the goal is between C-5 and C-6, if you really want to feel more secure.

Enjoy your scroll ^^

These are great directions, except that make sure you go through the first unmakred stone door THEN follow the right wall.

Nice job, anyways. Got my scroll. ^^
Rice ball price!

I started hunting Yagudo bead Neckless at 168 gil for Rice ball. After I turned in 40 times of Yagudo Bead Neckless, I returned to check the Rice Ball prices. It went down to 158 gil. I think 10 times drops the price by 5 gil.

This quest is so bloody easy as long as you have the sneak spell or silence oils with you. A friend and I were able to do this and the second scroll quest in less than an hour, since he had already done the quests before, and I had sneak with me.

Unfortunately, it appears at this time (Feb 2007) that zebraflood is no longer active. It's now a site with holding pages for subjects such as:
Thong Girls | Relic Weapon Skills Video | Wet Panties | Weapon Skill | Thongs | Wet Panty | Thong

When you click on the "Relic Weapon Skills Video" link, it returns a page for:
Airline Tickets | Employment | Car Insurance | Ringtones | Dating | Houses For Sale | Mortgage

Anyone got these maps they can post or link?

Funny that everyone thinks Zinc ore is so hard to get mining... and 400-700 each!? I wish I was on your server. They're 100 gil each, sometimes they erratically spike to 600, but are right back down again.

Eh, to wach their own, I already mine in zeruhn, so guess which one I'll be doing. Though, I'll do the other one for windy fame, need that absorb-MND scroll for my DRK ^^
Best way to get Norg Fame

You can get enough Norg Fame doing the Windy Woods/Nanna Mihgo quest AND make a profit or you can pay out the ying-yang and do the Bastok quest.

Here is how:

Step 1:
Since the PS2 version went live there have been 100+ Yagudo necklaces in the Windurst Auction house at prices of mostly 100 (Shiva). I buy those up until I have driven the price to 200. Then I head over to Giddeus.

Step 2: In windurst waters there are two renewable quests:
A Crisis in the Making - http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=&fquest=117 (Payout 400)
Water Way to Go - http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/quests.html?realm=&fquest=134 (Payout 900)

Obtain both quests, run to giddeus, slaughter innocent Yagudo and head to SE corner. Trade canteen to spring. Head back north, slaughter more innocent Yagudo and stop by storage room. Return to Windurst Waters, stop by cooking guild, south to Rhinostery, head south out zone, teleport from top of Orastery to Walls Auction house. Buy up any 100 South through zone, turn left to Nanna Mihgo feed her your necklaces, reverse route and stop by Rhinostery, then Cooking Guild, then back to Giddeus.

Step 3: Rinse, lather, repeat. Lap takes 10 minutes.

I recommend only fighting Yagudo in front of Giddeus that die in one hit for Necklaces and completing the two quests as fast as you can and repeating till you get bored. Log on every couple hours buy up the 100 Gil Necklaces, trade them in, and log.

Did the lap 12 times a day (2 hours), for 3 days. I stared with 0 norg fame (167 Riceballs), and 4k gil, and finished with 153 Riceballs, 7.5k gil and of course Utsumei and Tonko. Traded in 40 sets of 4 necklaces and brought my Windy fame up a good chunk by repeaing those 2 quests 36 times.

Additionaly, you could zig-zag and eat crawlers along the way for more profit, or you could be like most people on this board who seem to prefer breaking pick axes for two hours with full field gear for 10 zinc ore.

When i got this quest I had spent about 33k on zinc ore to do the quest about 27-30 times. Btw the ore cost 500-700 a piece but someone was selling them in the bazaar for 400. So if you're planning to get fame this way then get a fair bit of money together.

This is a myth. Those spells are random in length no matter what clothes you are wearing or not wearing. Please do not spread false information, it could get someone KO'd needlessly.

Thanks for debunking the myth. Next time you decide to make a correction, try not to criticize a person for saying what they think is true.

Because honestly your sources saying it is a random duration ultimately are as unreliable as this WHM saying it is based on armor. Nobody knows it's random duration, it's just highly suspected.

Now, I suspect it is also random duration. But you never know, and you are certainly in no position to chastise the other player for sharing what he believes to be true.

I don't know how the day effects it, but I do know it is at least somewhat random.

When doing my paladin quest I used a sneak oil in davio, lasted about 5 seconds. Used another one, lasted over 3 minutes.

That's gotta be random!
RE: Sneak/Invis Myth
# Jul 06 2004 at 1:15 PM Rating: Decent
I was with a WHM yesterday sneaking around in Gusgan looking for RSE chests, and many times I found that his sneak would last on me for 10 seconds at most other times 5 minutes easily.... all on the same vana'diel day. I'm not sure what the cause is, but i gather its related to your magic skills IE: the higher your enhancing skill the better chance you have of a long duration. Just my guess...
RE: Sneak/Invis Myth
# Mar 17 2007 at 12:27 PM Rating: Decent
This is what I know from experience:
1.) sneak lasts longer on higher lvl people
2.) the higher level the caster, the longer it will stay
3.) if a high level caster casts on a low level person, sneak will wear very shortly.
4.) sneak and invis and deoderize are all white spells, i believe, so if you have +light gear sneak will last longer.

really, thats just stating the obvious.
How to know your fame by #
# Feb 10 2004 at 11:04 PM Rating: Good
To check your fame by a reliable number, go to the Tenshodo place in jeuno and look up rice balls. If they are 155 or less gil to buy u are fine, otherwise keep trying.

The riceballs are only sold at Lower Jeuno, at the Spire. I found my 'fame' with the riceballs was 156G. I went to Norg and I was able to get the quest (also the level 12 one.)

I was a lvl 30 WHM and just used Protect II/Shell and Sneak. Also try not to wear any gear, it will last a lot longer that way.

Nanaa's quest more, yes, but its also far easier, if anyones a ninja means they have a lvl 30, that makes everything in Giddeus super easy. which has alot of yagudo's and drops alot of necklaces.
Mine or kill or buy Zinc Ore?

Do them all...so you dont go broke buying it, you dont get bored from killing worms, and you dont go mad from mining.

I generally went into Zeruhn Mines with 2 stacks of pickaxes. On several occasions, when all my axes break or I'm full (about 1 - 1.5 hrs depending on many times I can mine from a spot), I have averaged about 4-6 zinc ores. Kinda dissappointing when you need more for this quest.

Perhaps other mines will yield better zinc results? Zeruhn is a newbie mine and therefore probably newbie mining results too.

The plus side is you will have other ore that people will buy so you at least can make about 3000-5000g by selling all those extras.
Best way for Tenshodo Fame?
# Jan 28 2004 at 2:00 AM Rating: Default
Question.. i'm in need of Tenshodo fame. The Zinc Ore Quest is what most people are saying to do. Problem is that im too lazy to kill these worms for 100+ zinc ore's. Which would be the fastest way other than buying off auction house for 400 gil ea. Should i buy pickaxe for 250g ea. and mine for them in Zehrun Mines with 0 goldsmith skill and a few +mining equipment. Or will i be breaking pickaxe's too much and end up spending around the same price as if i were to buy them all off the Auction House. ??? I checked the guild shop and saw no zinc ore's. somebody posted somewhere that they were for sale there at certain time's but i didnt see $#@%. can i buy zinc ore's from any npc's?

Mining results in no way reflect your Goldsmithing skill. The only thing that is proven to effect it is the clothes you can buy.

The correct title of this quest is "It's Not Your Vault." Keal sends you to fetch a sealed iron box (key item) from a Sahagin-infested Norg vault.

Here's a screenshot (link) of the room described above. Beware of the Ooze guarding the room. Return to Norg. Exchange the sealed iron box with Keal for a scroll of Tonko:Icho.

"The Sahagin Vault" is the correct title of a Norg quest that requires high Tenshodo fame. The quest start NPC is Laisraen. He asks you to retrieve any item from the Sahagin's hidden vault deep within the Sea Serpent Grotto. Trade a silver beastcoin to a door and head to the storage room (Sorry, I do not have coordinates). Examine the ??? for a cutscene, return the key item received to Laisraen for a scroll of Utsusemi: Ichi (Jeuno AH value of 100-120k gil on Gilgamesh).

First of all this Spell is only 10k in Ragnarok server, but u need to buy ninja tool call Shinobi-tabi or something. 6k-7k depence which AH. Which is not that expensive because u don't use this spell alot. 1 stack of 99, took me one month to use them all. Maybe in new server those will go for 100K. Or some people think this is a " NI" Scroll. "Ichi" Scroll r all under 100k in ragnarok.
RE: Incorrect Quest Info

On Alexander server, Utsusemi: Ichi has sold about 4 times in the San d'Oria auction houses for 10-15k; but, all of those were sold in the previous Vana'diel month
However, upon checking the Jeuno auction houses, I found that Utsusemi: Ichi scrolls were being frequently sold (about 5 or so a day) at a range of 90-160 k.

Utsusemi: Ichi is only worth 10K on Rangarok!?! Are you sure about that? On my server, Utsusemi:Icho is worth upwards of 150K. Tonko: Ichi is only worth 10K.

you need high norg fame to get this quest, which is very time consuming/expensive

one way is to do the repeatable cat burgular quest in windurst around 50 times. Thats right, 50 times, 4 yagudo necklaces each time....expensive and time consuming :(

But did you expect any less? The scroll is worth like 100k

Tenshodo (Norg) fame is linked to Bastok. The Zinc Ore quest is the way to go. I believe you have to do it 25 (?) times to get enough fame from scratch.
RE: norg quest/ichi scroll
# Dec 29 2003 at 9:17 PM Rating: Default
This actually isn't correct.

Tenshodo (aka Norg) fame can be gained by doing quests for:

Tenshodo HQ in Lower Jeuno.
Tenshodo Branch in Bastok Port.
The Brugaire Consortium in San d'Oria Port.
Nanna Mihgo in Windurst.
Quests in Norg (excluding advanced job quests).

Hope this helps.

Still don't think Nanaa Mihgo's quest helps worth beans. After doing the THF AF1 today I'm almost sure of it. She utterly hates the Tenshodo, but won't go against them.

Also, what F'ed server are you on where Tonko: Ichi is worth 100k? Only Utsusemi is near that price, and it's plummeting now.
