Summary

Collect three stones of frigicite from fiend-infested caverns in the north. Bring them to Maat to further expand your innate limits.

Walkthrough

Activate the quest with Maat in Ru'Lude Gardens. He asks you to retrieve three pieces of Fragicite from Xarcabard.

Once you have activated the quest, travel to Xarcabard. The Fragicite are found in caves at I-6, J-7, and G-10. Each piece of Frigicite is guarded by a NM that has sneak and invisible detect. Simply defeat the NM, and quickly run in and touch the ??? to receive the rewards (key items):

1. Boreal Tiger. The reward is a Round Frigicite. 2. Boreal Coeurl. The reward is a Square Frigicite. 3. Boreal Hound. The reward is a Triangle Frigicite. Be careful, because these NMs have incredibly fast respawn rates (around 15 seconds). You may want to ask the Dragoons in the group to dismiss their wyverns so that you can easily target the ??? using F8 (otherwise you will probably end up targetting wyverns with F8). You will need a large alliance for these, or if you'd rather have high-level help, you will probably still need a full party of high-level players. The monsters are incredibly tough. Once you have retrieved the three pieces of Frigicite, simply return to Maat to complete the quest.

Ok, you need an alliance for this one. We have about 15 people, 2 of which were 70+, the rest were varied between 51-55. What you have to do is go to 3 _seperate_ locations in Xarcabard. Each one spawns one of the mobs. Take all the previous advice into account. But I'd suggest that the mages that are staying backing to avoid the aoe spells being to run towards the back of the cave when the monster is about to die in order to save time. You have to quickly run in, touch the ???, then run back out so you don't get aggroed when the mob respawns shortly after. The only thing you need to do to get the key items is to activate the quest. Anyone can participate though, just need the quest for the items.

Now, I'm at work and don't have access to the markers I made, but off-hand and looking at the maps here, I think the 3 locations are at I-6, J-7, and G-10. I'm about 90% sure, but don't hold it against me if I'm wrong. Basically, the monster caves are the skinny bits of maps around the edges.

Sneak and Invis shouldn't be necessary. Especially when you have 12 trigger-happy melees trying to fight everything they see on the way to show-off their skill...z. Just try not to spread out the group too much. Hope this clears things up a bit.
Level cap?

all 3 of them are in seperate locations no way in hell sleep will work on them they are HNM you can run or hide from them try running and youll be "drawn in". though if they start casting freeze on you you might be able run out of the cave. they will not chase you out they are stuck in the cave

Heres what you can do for this quest if you can't come up with 18 people:

Wait by the xarcabar teleport if you know someone else is doing it. just follow them everywhere. everytime they killed the beasts you can still click on the ??? and get the items.

But you gotta walk fast with sneak and invis. The parties might teleport Vahlz everytime so you gotta catch up to them.
Huh?

Wtf are you talking about needing 2-3 alliances? You mean 2-3 groups?

You don't need japanese help for this, just hook up with other people needing it. It's not that bad... I got this done in an alliance of 16 people at 53 when most of the people there weren't 55 yet and even with a couple of fairly clue-lacking people in the alliance, it was easy as heck.

Some things to keep in mind:
When you kill the mob, it does not stay gone for very long at all. Seriously you only have time to click on the ??? and run. Don't start trying to raise people in cause you won't have time. Try to keep them alive and if they die, tractor them out and fight the mob again. While of course you want people to kill something fast, make sure they are watching their aggro.

Make sure casters aren't standing in the middle of the fight. A couple of oblivious people died to ae's on the hound, for example.

Make sure at least one whm has viruna for cure status.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 17 2004 at 12:08 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) How is one supposed to complete this insanely tough mission needing 2-3 Alliances when the translating system on Vana'diel sucks. Every Japanese person I ask says, "Sorry I'm busy" or something of that sort. Wow, this sucks. Lv 55 for over 2 weeks now...
