Summary

Fill up an empty barrel with Opo-opo brew found fermenting in trees in the Yhoator Jungle, and bring it back to Norg ASAP.

Walkthrough

Talk to Washu in Norg to begin this quest. He will give you the key item Empty Barrel and instruct you to fill it with Opo-Opo brew found in a Yhoator Jungle tree. Head to Yhoator Jungle and examine the ??? at the top center of the (F-8), (G-8), (G-7), or (E-9). Once you find the ??? the key item becomes a Barrel of Opo-Opo Brew.

Return to Washu for your reward, the Scroll: Hojo Ichi.

I cant believe you people think this is hard ... 5 mins in the jungle and i found the ???. Decide to go raise and be a nice guy and find another 5 mins after the first. Just choco around and examine all the big trees. No map no nothing.
RE: Hard?

As far as I can tell the logging points at each of the trees randomly get changed to the ???.
BTW Hard..I love people who luck out and then claim it was easy...moron.
though using a choco is a good piece of advice.

No. Logging points should say "Logging point". Not "???". This quest seems easy, but that might be because of a level 55 main. Choco or tonko if your below non-aggro level. Good luck ;)

Yes, that is correct, unless one of the places that normally has a logging point suddenly becomes a ???, as I said.

Well to be honest it doesn't appear that this quest takes any amount of skill. Just look for a ??? how hard can that be?
RE: Hard?
# Feb 24 2005 at 6:13 AM Rating: Decent
no..no skill...just patience, as you have to travel all over the place, and Yhoator is a little annoying to find your way around in.

It took me forever to find this thing, but I found it with the help of the map on this site: http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Bingo/1869/MAP-Yhoator.htm ... the blue dots are possible spawning positions for the ??? found in the Huge Trees; and I found mine in the northeast area of Position: (G-8)
Hope this helps!

I been looking for a few days now for this ??? in Yhoatar Jungle and yet to find it. I've checked E-9, and F-7, F-8, G-7, and G-8, nothing.
I been going to ever deadend that has those Huge Trees in each of those areas i stated, Are these the trees where the ??? is suppose to spawn at? Or is it one of those type of trees that a logging point can spawn at, or those big plant things in the middle of a fork? Some help on what kind of tree or plant i should be checking would be helpful. Thank you.

E-9
# Dec 01 2004 at 2:04 AM Rating: Decent
I looked my *** off for this for an hour or so .. Logged, then searched for another hour .. Then checked E-9, which I previously neglected to check .. It was sitting righ there .. Then it stayed there after I got the brew .. So I suggest checking em all once, I think it'll be at one of those spots all the time =/

Ok, I've often heard people say that there's like "only one or two places" where the ??? spawns, despite what the main guide says and despite what the japanese map offers.

Just wanted to be one to say that the guides are right, there isn't just one or two spawn points. I found mine at: NW of (H-8)

The absolute best bet is to print out this map: http://www.geocities.co.jp/Playtown-Bingo/1869/MAP-Yhoator.htm

Use that. It is uber.

Yes, as previously mentioned, if you haven't completed this, and activated the Yomi Okuri (SAM AF-2) Quest, Washu won't accept the Opo-opo Brew...

I guess there's the rebate on paying for my AF-2 help =/

Hum not sure about this i haven't done any of the AF missions or activated any and i was still able to get the Hojo: Ichi scroll...the quest in the log states that once u get the brew to bring it back ASAP..maybe u took awhile to bring it back?

I happened to see the ???, got the brew, it was late so I just warped to jeuno and forgot about this quest.... 2 months later I head to norg to start the quest and bam, Hojo.

No they are not logging points. Please check ur facts before u posts. Conflicting info is the worst thing on a resource website.

These are the posible ??? locations of this quest. Check it urself; most of the blue dots are within the areas F-8, G-7, G-8 and E-9 as posted earlier by realmoe. He only forgot (or didn't know) to mention F-7.

I found mine @ upper-right of G-8.

Actually, they are the ??? points. I've used this map and it was right on the dot, and the logging points I found where not the blue dots. :/

For the people who have no clue where Washu is (like myself), she is hiding in the FIRST Oaken Door on your LEFT as you enter the hallway/tunnel up the main stairs. She's in the back right corner of the room.

Little sneaker took me 20 minutes to find her. ><;
