On the Conquest Update on Sunday (Japan 12AM on Monday), the Mog will tell you again that sleeping on the bed has made him homesick and requests you buy 1 Selbina Butter (200-400gil), and 1 Shrimp Lure (3.5-4k). Again, he goes away for a few days (game days), comes back and you now have 70 spaces in your Inventory.

Got the bed on a Saturday, got the quest Sunday, turned in the items as soon as I got the quest, had the extra spots later that night.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Required fame to flag quest?
# Mar 01 2009 at 10:57 AM Rating: Decent
I think you have to be at least fame 5 in your town. I was fame level 4 for in Windurst for a long time (basically the checking fame said "Why, if it isn't <Name>! I heard some guys talking about you over their dinners at the eatery last night. They had nothing but good things to say about you. Keep up the good work!") but now that I am up another level I got this quest flagged right away. (Rank 5 with him saying "Hello there, <Name>! There aren't many Windurstians who don't know that name. We're all proud to have you on our side. Keep up the great work!") so I would assume that one has to be at least fame level 5...but if it's different for others, then I'm not sure what triggers it.

I don't see a pattern to the experiences people are describing.

I put the bed in 3 months ago and have not been back to windurst since. Today I went back to windurst, entered the mog house and got the cut scene. So, add 1 more in the "you have to return to your home town to get the cut scene" column. Other people say they got the cut scene in a rent-a-room though.

Edited, Feb 20th 2008 6:53pm by cheyrn

I got the next cut scene the next day (Thursday), telling me that the moogle is back from vacation and got the mog safe upgrade. This was when talking to the moogle in a rent-a-room.

Clarification.

The one thing that gives most people problems is that the furniture in your house might have an item or a quest attached to it ex.(Cupboard, wicker box) if you've read most of the other peoples stuffthen you know most of what else you need to do, Have 4 fame, put the bed in before conquest update, wait a couple days, be in home town (Duh) most of that and you should have that stuff done.
then just wait and trade the mog items *note: he wont really disappear* ok that should do it
Simply Easy

This quest is very easy to obtain. first, be sure that you have the bed in your mooglehouse for 1 full week, sunday to sunday. if you put it in on sunday night, the quest will not be available to you till the sunday after next. I recommend to put it in your mooglehouse on saturday evening and you will only have to wait a week. I'm not sure if your nations conquest results has anything to do with you obtaining this quest or not, however being second place or above couldn't hurt. be sure that your fame in your home nation is high, if it is not, trade some boyahda moss to Melyon (I - 9) in selbina many times to raise your fame.(Many Many Times, like 40 stacks). if all else is good, you should have no problem activating this quest.

I put both mahogony bed and noble bed in my moogle house at 1 time so i will see if i can get the last quest this sunday.
My experience
# Aug 13 2007 at 3:42 PM Rating: Decent
I think either there's some variable that everyone is missing here, or that this is simply THE MOST BUGGY QUEST IN THE GAME. Example:

With my Alt, when I did the Mahogany Bed, I put the bed in, got the quest a week later, gave him the items, and he went away. Months later, he still hadn't returned with the bigger safe. The moogle would still say "Master, I am using my telepathic abilities to communicate with you" or whatever they say when they're out for the bed quests. Around this time I quit playing for other reasons. Fast-forward a year later. They had just started letting you transfer between world servers, and I wanted to start playing again with all of my characters on one server, so I transferred this character. I arrive at my new world server, go into my mog house, and whalah, I don't get the ending cutscene, but my mog house now has 70 slots.

As for receiving the quest in the first place, I have had some characters get the quest next day, others wait 3 weeks, Some have low fame, some have high. There is no discernable rhyme or reason to getting these quests. Either that or they are still, to this day, ridiculously buggy. I'm working on the noble's bed quest with the aforementioned character and the mahogany bed with another. Have waited a week and a half. I will post if they get it at the same time.

It's possible that this is tied to an in-game global event, like some boss getting defeated, your nation amassing acertain AMOUNT of conquest points, rather than necessarily having to be in first(I know from experience that this is not the case).

My advice to anyone trying to do this quest: Just be patient.

disregard all posts below this one. your HP can be set anywhere. what you have to do, is put a mohogany bed in your mog house. 1 entire conquest tally (from the time it starts to the time it finishes) must pass before your mog gives the quest. so this means your bed will have to be in your house for 1-2 weeks depending when you put it in there.

example: you put it on monday, you will have to wait until sunday, and then wait until next sunday to get the quest. if you put it on saturday night, you must wait for sunday, and then wait until the sunday after that to get the quest.

your nation must also be in second place or higher. you can easily fix this problem by changing nations for a little while and then change back once your finished your quest.

All that you need to do(I've done this for both this one and the first one), is put the bed in on saturday before the conquest tally. Right after the conquest tally you can get the quests, if you have the fame for it.

My timetable:
Saturday at noon(mountain standard time): Place Mahogany Bed in MH,
2:00pm: check in to RAR in Jeuno.
Sunday at noon: Move back in to Bastok, talk to moogle, got the quest.

Only took me 24 hours to get the quest. Bastok was in 3rd and moved to 2nd for this one.

I didn't think it took a week+ to activate this quest when I did my main characters originally, so I tested this theory.

I can personally verify that it took two days from placing the bed in my moghouse to get the quest. I placed a Bronze bed in Mule 1's MH and a Mahogany Bed in Mule 2's bed on Saturday (Australia time). After conquest, I ended up getting quests for both. So... a chart =P

Saturday: Place beds (Nation in first. Hero fame.)
Sunday: wait
Monday: Moghouse quests. (Nation in last place)

So I don't know why the poster above is taking two weeks to activate the quests. All I can say is that its likely he doesn't have the fame required or something like that.

I forgot to check out of my rent-a-room in jeuno before the update this morning. When i logged in and went back to bastok(first place), I talked to my moogle on a whim and got the quest. So you ARE able to be in a rent-a-room over the conquest tally and still get the quest.
To clear up even more misinformation
# Sep 24 2006 at 9:36 AM Rating: Default
Put the Noble's Bed in my mog house last Saturday, then logged on after tally and mog didn't give me the quest, even though Sandy was in first place and my fame was maxed.

Today (a week after the last tally, meaning my bed has been in the safe for an entire week), Sandy is in second place and my mog gave me the quest. Before I went to check on him (and after the tally already took place for this week), my mog was set in Whitegate, so there goes that rumor. It seems the only prerequisite is to have the proper fame and make sure that your bed is in the house for an entire conquest week.

i put my bed in saturday, sunday after the tally he didnt give me a quest so i figured maybe it had to be in longer(this whole time my res was my home town) but as the week went by i needed my residence elsewhere so i changed it and for 2 weeks straight i forgot to change it back saturday night. on the second week on saturday i went to change it back to my home town and when i did he gave me the quest. so it seems it doesnt have to be your home town the whole time, just for one of the tallys.... hope this helps, best of luck

From what I understand, you have to be checked into your Mog House in your home nation, be it Bastok, San d'Oria, or Windurst, for this quest to activate.

So after putting the bed in your MH, make sure that you're checked into it in your home nation before the next conquest update.

1. There is an incredible amount of misinformation about this quest. People make this thing WAAAAAY harder than it really is.

2. Here is a list of the conditions you MUST meet to get this quest:

1) Have Fame in your ACTUAL mog house city (not rent-a-room) of 4 or higher.

2) Have completed "Give your Moogle a Break" quest. (or whatever the name is)

3) Placed a Mahogany Bed in your Mog House, it MUST BE LAID OUT, not just in a bank slot.

4) All of the above steps must be completed before conquest tally.

5) Make sure you check OUT of any rent-a-room BEFORE conquest tally happens.

6) Talk directly to your moogle (don't use the Moogle House button in the menu) after conquest tally.

I've done all of this. Rank 10, max fame and... no quest.

As with all MH expansion quests, your nation must come in first in conquest on the tally at 12 AM Monday morning in Japan. Otherwise, you will not get the quest.

The nation being in 1st in world conquest is not correct. I am on Sylph and it takes like 2 months for Bastok to get 1st just once....
I have accpeted and done these quests when my home nation wasn't 1st in tally.

For those who couldn't get the quest from the Moogle, please check if:
1. If after the first tally you didn't get the quest because your Fame was too low
2. If after that you have raised your fame to the requirement
3. If you didn't remove and reinstall the bed into your mog house again after getting enough fame

Please try removing the bed, then lay it in your house again. That might do the trick because I spent like 4 weeks on the first Mof House quest just because of the above. After I remove and put the bed in again, next week I got the quest without any problem.

Does it work if you also have another bed in your mog house or does it have to be just that bed in your mog house and no others out?
RE: 2 Beds
# Feb 10 2006 at 9:04 PM Rating: Good
worked just fine for me with many types of beds in the mog house.
You can only do the next particular quest in line...so having all three of the quest required beds would have you do the quests in line still.
Not a few game days...real days!
# Jan 31 2006 at 11:41 PM Rating: Good
This past saturday I placed the mahogany bed as said here. On sunday after totals, I clicked on my moogle to talk to him. I was treated to a cut scene where Bob (my moogle) asked me to bring him/it two items: selbina butter (about 20K AH Fairy) and a shrimp lure (about 50K AH). I was smart and bought the items before all this.
When I gave the moogle the two items, he said thanks and that he would return soon with a gift for me.
He never dissapeared, I got woried, but I waited around town just in case. Still there when I went back, repeadedly to my mog house. ><
What's the deal I thought? I waited around until I had to log out for the night.
Next day, I log in again. Bob is still there?!?
I said "Forget it, I got better things to do," so I ran away from my mog home to Jeuno to get ready to level again.
When I got to my mog house in Jeuno, he was still there...
I'm really frustrated now...

I was about ready to write SE or call a GM for help, but I was not sure how to explain the situation.
I went around and leveled the rest of that day until I had to log out.

Third day, I return to my mog house, as I enter, FINALLY I get the cut scene and he gives me 10 more slots in my safe.

What's the moral to this story?
Mogs are theives, and good ones at that.
They are free loader, no good, scruffy-looking, nerf herders!

I was at the time:
-Rank 5
-Level 41
-Didn't have a rent-a-room at the start of the quest on sunday
-I have a lot of fame in Bastok (home town) as well as other nations
-had the mahogony bed in layed out in my mog house (not just in the safe)
-made sure to wait until after conquest totals to click on and talk to the moggle
-had other beds in my mog house (bronze bed and chocobo bedding)
-had previously done the first mog safe expansion to get 60 slots
-Bastok (my nation) was in LAST PLACE before and after conquest totals (like it ever changes *roll*)

This line in the quest guide should be changed:

Quote:
Again, he goes away for a few days (game days), comes back and you now have 70 spaces in your Inventory.

You probably already know by now, but the moogle does not actually disappear from your mog house when he says he is leaving. If he did, you wouldn't be able to use your MH options anymore. If anything, just think of it as his cousin, stepping in to help him while he's away. lol~

I've had the bed in my mog house for about 5 months.

He will not give me the quest.

I've now got Fame 6.
I've taken it out and put it back in.

No quest.

Ok started the quest Monday and then once the quest was started i removed the bed and returned it to an ls member. At this point the moogle was still asking for the butter and the shrimp lure. Gave him the items and he said thank you master and that he would be back in a few days. Ok now its been 3 rl days and still no expansion. Could this have nething to do with me removing the bed mid way through the quest, If so is it possible to restart and leave the bed there this time.??? help me out.

And obviously if have done the past quest maxed out fame, started the quest in my home town, yes the bed was in the layout ( for the quest to start) and i had checked the room. So can ne1 help me please please please

You have to wait until the next Conquest Tally before you can get the next safe! if it doesn't happen by Sunday at around 9 or 10 o'clock then something is wrong. talk with the moogle sunday night just to be safe. and make sure you talk to the one in your Nation.

I'm not sure about the need to talk to your moogle in your nation to finish the quest, but you definately need to talk to him in your home nation to start it. I just did the first safe quest (yes, I'm really slow about these things), and I had to travel to Windy to start it, but after the Conquest Update yesterday, I spoke to my moogle in Jeuno, and received my safe. I would have to assume that this is the same for all three safe quests.
Why????

Well
I
- had Fame 5 in Windy (my home country)
- had already 60 slots in my MH (first quest: done)
- had a mahogany bed in my MH (not only in the safe)
- had no Rent-a-Room in another city
before and while the last tally.
And my Moogle doesn't give me the quest.
What should I do?
RE: Why????
# Nov 24 2005 at 4:51 PM Rating: Decent
The bed has to be not only in your home mog house of your home town, but your HOME home mog house, meaning you have to go in through the Northern Sandy entrance, then place the bed.

I just want to correct a popular misconception about this (and most likely all) the mog safe expansion quests.

Today is Wednesday, 11/2 at 9:26 PM EST. I just checked into my mog house in my home country (San d'Oria) for the first time in over a real life week. I placed the Mahogany Bed in my mog house on Monday, 10/24 in the evening sometime. I then checked into a rent-a-room in Windurst that same night and actually have been in rent-a-rooms in all of the other cities since without once checking back into San d'Oria. As soon as I checked back into my mog house just now and talked to my moogle, I was given the quest.

I hope this helps.
