Walkthrough

Orc Crest

=== NOTE: You will need Invisibility for this entire section

- Travel to Davoi, once in Davoi, go to the Zone entrance of Monastic Caverns at H-11

- Zone back to Davoi at the SW corner of I-8. At this point you will be in the house area at the center of the Davoi map.

- Head East across the bridge and then north onto the top of the fort at J-8 to a Tarutaru.

At this point, one person will need to do the mini-quest to get the Crimson Orb at this point to proceed farther. Speak to the Tarutaru to receive the quest. You must touch the Banishing Gate in Davoi before the Taru will give you the mini-quest.

The mini-quest basically tells you to go to the 4 red pools in Davoi. The pools are located at the NW corner of H-10, the NE corner of L-9, NW corner of E-8, and the last one which is not displayed on the map by yellow is found by following the river at H-6 north and to the east. WARNING: When you dip the orb into the 4th pool it curses you, so plan accordingly. Return to the Tarutaru with the Orb to receive the Crimson Orb.

- At this point proceed to the Banishing Wall at the SW corner of J-9 and have the person with the Orb open the gate by clicking on it. This will open a hole in the wall which anyone can walk through. WARNING: This room is populated so if you are doing this alone, make sure all the orcs are looking away when you drop invisibility to use the orb. The zoneline is only a few feet past the wall so if you do get aggro you can run for it.

- Once you've zoned over to Monastic, it's located just after you cross into J-6 on a ledge to the left.

-- Quadav Crest

=== NOTE: You will need Sneak only for this entire section. You also need to be doing, or have completed the Rank 5 Magicite mission to be able to complete this part.

Helpful information: - Mute machines silence you - Afflictor machines curse you - A silenced person can't be cursed by the afflictor - Echo drops remove silence

~~~ - Head to Beadeaux
- Once inside, follow the Tunnel down at H-7 (1st map), then proceed to the tunnel up at F-8 (2nd map).
- Once up top again, hug the right wall to the ramp at E-10 (1st map), then take one of the ramps in the northeastern half of this map at either (K-7) or (J-7) to get back to the lower level. Once there, take the tunnel down at section K-6 (1st map).
- Once below again, follow the path to M-8 (2nd map) and then zone over into Qulun Dome.
- The crest is located on the borderline of I-6/7. In the first room is most likely an NM, so make sure he's wandering away from the door before you try to run through this room. In the 2nd room, all the NM's are generally at the far north side of the room.
Yagudo Crest
=== NOTE: You will only need Invisibility for this entire section, please don't step near the leeches.
Important information:
  • It is imperative that you start this quest at the very beginning of a new game day as the passwords will change every day. (more on that below)
    • This section can not be completed by a single person unless you have some sort of movement enhancement (flee, strider boots, Ninja AF boots
etc..)
- Head to Castle Oztroja
- For the first part you will need to find out what the password of the day is, which requires collecting the information from 3 brass statues.
- Head to the SE corner of H-8 and open the brass door. Click on the statue inside to receive the 1st password.
- Now head to the door at I-8 and then go up the stairs to the 2nd map (Remember the 2nd map as I'll be referencing it later). On this map, head to the exit at G-7 and zone over onto the next map. On the next map head north to I-7 and zone over to yet another map. Now head to the SE corner of H-9 and open the brass door and receive the 2nd password from the statue. (Note: If you've done the paladin AF2 quest, this is the exact same spot you were sent to fish)
- Proceed back along the same path to the 2nd map. (The one I told you to remember) The 3rd statue is located on the NW corner of I-8. If you've never experienced this section of the map before there are blocker points preventing most of the "obvious" paths and forcing you to walk around the outside.
Now that you have visited 3 statues, you should have 3 passwords. The ones I collected from multiple visits are Mong, Deggi, Duzu, Mjuu, Ouzi, Xicu, Ovzi, Buxu, Haqa, Gadu, Puqu, Duxo, Zhuu. You may receive other ones but write those 5 down in case the day flips over and you have to "guess" later on in the quest.
At this point you can actually go get the crest.
- From the 3rd statue point head west to the 4 lever door at the SW corner of G-8. To be honest I have no clue what the correct sequence of levers is, but I found that if I randomly flip them it generally opens the door. Once through the door, head up the stairs and zone over (G-9) onto a new map.
- The next map is pretty straightforward, just remain invis and don't step on the Yagudo Parasites (leeches), and proceed to the next map at H-11.
- You want to proceed through the Brass door at H-7 from here. In order to do that you must have someone light one of the 4 torches.
- There are torches at G-7, G-8, H-7, and H-8 in each of the small rooms. From my experience they all do the same thing, which once lit opens the brass door at H-7. This is where you need the 2nd person. One person lights the torch, the 2nd person goes inside (The door can be opened from inside). The Yagudo in the torch rooms operate on sight only so if you wait patiently for them to face the walls you can drop invis, light the torch, and re-invis. You can do this part solo with flee.
- Once through the door, there will be a wooden plank with a red circle (trap door) in front of a Brass Statue. Have everyone stand on the plank and have click on the statue and input the passwords (Order doesn't matter). The trap door will open and everyone will fall through to the bottom. Don't worry about invis, the bottom of the trap door is safe. Be sure to put it back up afterwards however.
Note: If you've taken too long and a day has passed, the passwords may have changed. Try a few of the 5 I provided in addition to your own and hopefully you can get through. If not, enjoy visiting the statues again.
- Once everyone has dropped down through the trap door, you will see a long corridor leading to a large room with a series of ramps up to a center platform. The ??? to get the Yagudo crest is located on the central platform. At this point you'll need to keep a lookout for the Yagudo NM (Generally the High Priest).
- Wait for the Yagudo NM to be sufficiently far away from the center platform, then travel up the ramps to the center platform, standing "behind" any regular Yagudo which may be on that platform, drop invis, click the ??? and re-invis.
- If you are in a large group, I highly suggest you send people up one at a time so that if they get aggro, they can run to the base of the ramp and die in a suitable fashion and not kill everyone, but still be within tractor range.
Once you have all 3 crests return and speak to Maat to raise your level limit.
Good guide. Everything was right on the dot except for some stuff in Davoi.
* When they say "Banishing Gate" at the part about the mini-quest, they mean "Banishing Wall".
*When dipping the orb into the pools for the mini-quest, save the hidden one at H-6 for last, its a long walk back if you are cursed.
yo i did all 3 parts solo last night!
Davoi
- It was easy
- the only think i hv to remind you guys is.. remember to touch the banishing wall once before you talk to tarutaru for the mini quest!!
- And after u dip the white orb into all 4 pool to become Cursed Orb, you will be Cursed, which is Lower your Maximum HP and MP.
Beadeaux
- It was easy too
- just remember to mute yourself. you can bring along some Silent Oil in case of sneak wearing.
Castle oztroja
- thx for Password posted here :D
- At last.. for the torch door, luckily there are a group of people fighting inside, so the room is clear.. and i just asked them to open the door.. i think i'm too lucky lol
can anyone here tell me if it is in anyway possible to solo the castle oztroja portion? i tried 3 times today...first time, i got all the passwords just fine, but when i got to the door where u must light a torch and run all the way back to the door, i soon found out i couldnt do this without "flee." So i came back with powder boots, the foot gear with "Flee" enhancement on it. Well, i can touch the torch just fine, then flee to the door, but i will still get aggro on the way to the door...even if the door closes behind me, the mobs will get through anyways...so, thats one death, and one wasted warp scroll...is it possible to do this part solo, or any suggestions?
You have to wait til the Yagudos are looking away, drop invis, check the torch, hit Flee, invis yourself, then run to the door. I checked the torch today, invised, and ran back to the door (I was opening it for a friend), and it closed just as I got there. So you'll have time if you do it that way. Alternately, if you're a THF, you can light the torch then Flee to the door, then hit Hide as soon as you're in to lose any aggro you might've gotten. That's the best thing about Yagudo; Hide works on them. :)
if u use flee before u tough the torch u have time to cast invisible on urself and then run through, it is possible to make it without any speed enhancement, you just can't cast invisible...hence why they say u need to duo it, but, it is very soloable.
In the last room of Castle Oztroja where you have to enter the passwords, here is how you can do it so save yourself a lot of time.
Normally you'd have to go all around the castle and waste a lit of time finding the statues that have the passwords on them, but here is a list of all the possible passwords and I believe that you have to use proper capitalization when typing them in, but I'm not sure but it wouldn't hurt to do it anyway:
Domi
Puqu
Gadu
Deggi
Mjuu
Xalmo
Haqa
Mong
Ouzi
Duzu
Buxu
Quu
Misu
Xicu
Ovzi
Duxo
Zhuu
If you enter one in without looking at the statue that gives the password and the statue that you inter the password into says its incorrect, dont worry, you're just using the password on a day that its not being used.
For example if you type in "Domi" and it says its incorrect, then that means that today the password is a different word since the passwords reset every day at 0:00.
If you check the statue and it says its making a weird humming sound or whatever, then just keep trying to check it. I have heard that if someone has the statue selected in the target window then someone else cant check it, but I haven't proved this yet.
Enter the passwords one at a time and if you get one right, you can move onto the next one. If you get it wrong you may have to wait a little while before entering one again, but keep trying to check it.
Print out or write down my list and then check off all the words you have entered that are incorrect so you dont get confused and accedentally enter the same word again.
If at any time the clock changes to 0:00 you have to start over your list from the first word since it will reset and one of the words you have entered may now be a correct password on this new day.
When all 3 passwords have been entered sucessfully, the wooden floor infront of the statue will collapse and everyone standing on it will fall down. Make sure that everyone in your party is standing on it before you enter the last password.
Cast Invisible on everyone and run upto the ??? on the top of the stone structure thingy and examine it, but be CAREFUL because the Yagudo High Preist is standing there and hes a very high level HNM with true sight, meaning he can look through your stealth.
If you get aggro by this guy, have the tank provoke it and the healer keep him alive until everyone has checked the ??? and got the crest. Then have the rdm chainspell and escape or the blm escape or the whm teleport out. Its too dangerous to warp 2 everyone one at a time here.
COngratulaions! You've finished getting the yagudo crest!
thanks for the list of Pwords. I went with some friends earlier and we did Castle O first since we knew it was going to be the hardest. We get to the bronze statue to enter the passwords in at around 23:40 so we wait it out. Meanwhile there was already another PT there trying to figure out what the passes were so after the time hit 0:00 i asked everyone in /say to untarget the handle and let me brute force the passes. Took about 3 min to do and we all drop down to the floor. Sadly enough it was a bit of a masacre cause the NM used its TS and killed some members of the other pt while everyone ran to the ??? like a chicken with their heads cut off. Two members from our PT fell but everyone got the crest.
Thanks
I just wanted to say thanks to all those who posted the passwords. I did this solo. (60rdm/blm) I cast blink, stoneskin and phalanx. I had a reraise gorget for reraise. i took off invis and light the torch and ran into the door. Made it with plenty of time, even though i died. I didnt care though i got it done solo. Messed with the passwords for 15 minutes or so and fell. Ran in and grabed it and warped out. And again thanks all for posting the passwoeds you found it helped SO much.
A LS buddy and me just did this quest with a DRG person, and everything went smoothly until after we got the yag crest. We got the crest np thanks to a noble move by the DRG of trainig just about all the yags including the three NM. /salute Madoushi. But anyway...my reason for this post is... DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET OUT AFTER YOU GET THE CREST..OTHER THAN WARPING OR DEATH WARPING??
We got to the top with the Templar and High Priest and clicked on the blank thingy, thinking it would be the solution. But the only thing we got was aggro from the NM's and a switft delivery home x.x
After I finished the pools, I went into Monastic Cavern and put Stoneskin+Blink and Invisible on. After that, I started walking and noticed Orcish Overlord talking in /say. After that, I saw a gold mask come and Flash me. He hit me for 42 damage and I warped back alive. >< hope this doesn't happen again.
Finised limit 3 today. Did Davoi yesterday, Davoi was pretty easy, i went with a friend, we ran through Montastic Cavern, to zone back to davoi towards the center of the map. We went to the wall took on invis and chcked it. reput invis back on and toaled to the taru on the platform. My friend begind a RDM did this part. he went to the four ponds while i waited on platform safe from aggro. he got to the ponds and we went to the wall again and zoned to montastic cavern. From there u just invis and follow rite wall to the ???.
Beadeaux wasn't hard at all just scary. when i left my friend did beadeaux and got killed by ruby quadav so he didn't join me. i did this whole thing solo. After u go through beadeaux and zone to Qulon dome, usually Ruby Quadav is there guarding the door. I had to wait like 5 minutes to get past him ( Ruby is true site), after that the ??? is to the north of that room.
Castle oztroja was not as easy as the others. Me and my friend did this one together, we were joined by two 60 warriors. We traveled to the statues together. got the three passwords and got to the door. My friend went and opened the brass door. and we opened it for him. We typed in the pass words and fell down. this room here was pretty safe so we took off invis and got ready to find the ???. then we here a not so welcoming thing on the screen *Yagudo Highpreist starts castong blink*. i knew it was true sight but one of the warriors didn't he ran to the ??? but b4 he got it the high preist aggrod and killed him. The other yagudo linked nad followed. So now it was me my friend and the other war standing near the ??? with a yag there. we go behind drop invis and get it, my friend starts to cast warp, but the second war got aggrod and ended up warped dead in davoi (Musta activated a warp scroll). but itended all good limit is now 65 ^^
I did Castle O by accident, being a thf/nin i was camping the last door for a coffer pop. While i was doing this a couple of people entered and needed lb3 but didnt have the passwords. So we 3 started spamming yag nm names at the brass statue until somebody got it right and we dropped. ^^
The nm is problem so what i did was cast ichi, utsusemi ran to touch the ??? and sure enough the nm aggro'ed me. With my blinks up i kept aggro while other people got their ??? and pressed my perfect dodge > insta warp macro.
I'd like to know if theres any potential exit, I am (well 'was' when you read this) still alive, and ran all over lookin for one lol >.< Even ran up to the top where the templar and high priest were, and clicked on that blank object. 'Nothing out of the ordinary here'... bullsh~t -_-;;
I can confirm that the handle can be operated from the wrong side of the door, so no need to use the torches at all.
Facing the door, stand right up against it on the right side, then turn 90 degrees left. Now when you tab around you should be able to target "Handle". You have to be facing the same way to operate it too otherwise you get "Target out of range".
I didn't bother getting the passwords either, just went through the list posted below and opened the trapdoor in about 10 mins.
In oztroja, there is a room that shows the right 4 lever combination to get through that particular door. Check the following link (from the thf forum). It gives a tremendous walkthrough for the Thf AF Legs coffer which describes this and many other considerations for the area. Best walkthrough I've seen on any quest or mission.
On the Yagudo crest, I was sitting next to the bronze door where someone has to light the torches. I was kinda upset that I couldn't get it done. Then a THF said he clicked the lever threw the door that opens it up. Not sure if it works but hey thats how I got threw. Its worth giving it a shot if your doing it solo like I was.
Just finished G3 soloed all of it PLD60/WAR30.
Beadeux heh 10 minutes 4 oils boom done.
Davoi took 30 minutes but nothing too hard, pond quest was annoying.
Castle Oz I started at 7:00 i had no flee whatsoever. got in got first word "Puqu" ran, ran, and ran my buttaru to the second word(biggest detour ever =_=)got got the second word "Mjuu" and it was 14:00. ran ALL the way back and got to the 4-Switch door, spammed my X button and made those switches fly and ipen the door in 45 seconds ^^. ran by and saw a 75 thf going to the brass door on the top, while running up there I kindly ask him to open the door for me, and he does ^^. I go in and guess the third word(which was Ouzi btw) and there was a PT killing all the yagudo down the hole and had to HNM to worry about, got my item, and had a Man-to-Man chat with Maat.
Note: When I finished talking to Maat it was 17:00, thats 6 in game hours I had to spare, I also started 7 hours into the day mind you. So CASTLE OZ DOES NOT NEED FLEE!
I'm now a Sky Breaker ^^
Did this last night completely alone. Davoi was really easy, just time consuming waiting for orcs to look away and running from pond to pond. Beadeaux was really easy, just remember if your casting sneak, curse is better then silence obviously. Oztroja wasn't as difficult as I heard people say. The door that you need someone to lite a torch for you....doesn't need to happen, with little effort, you can target the handle for the door on the other side. At that point its just a waiting game for the two yagudo in front of the door to turn around. Piece of cake, made me wonder how the whm in my LS died 4 times trying to do it.
in the explanation its says u cant do the Oztroja part by yourself but hey i did! It was an accident but i was in a key hunting party in the room with the brass statue and standing on the platform while healing... then i fell cuz a party of 75 jp's put in the password to fight down below. they just happened to clear the room so i ran to the ??? and got the crest then our blm Warp II'd me from the top (which is possible in the right spot btw^^) .... and thats basically how i easily soloed this one. let me know if u get as lucky. ;)
That will happen on any of these type of events (torch doors, barriers, teleports, etc) if you get hit by a mob while trying to activate them.
There is no solution part from not getting hit. Make sure all the Orcs are looking the other way or get somebody to distract them for you (BST jug pets make a great distraction btw, you can issue the Fight command while still remaining sneak/invis'ed).
The solution to this last one I used was once we hit that base of the platform, was to make a mad dash. Small group of 3, and just Chain-Escaped out. With Buffs up, we made it safe. (Maybe luck)
I just obtained all the crests tonight. Beadeaux is very straightforward as long as you have sneak or silent oils. Just be sure to avoid the NMs in the Qulun Dome, as is stated in the quest description.
After warping out of Beadeaux, I decided that it would be best to switch to Thf/Nin for flee and tonko. I think this may have been a mistake for the Davoi miniquest segment, as I was forced to perfect dodge warp once and died another time while dipping the orbs. Other than being quite a bit of leg work, Davoi isn't bad.
And of course, there's the dreaded Castle Oztroja. There was a ridiculous amount of luck involved with my success in this part of the quest. I entered as a 43Thf/Nin which was a huge mistake (trying to solo anyway). I would have been better off as my 57War, subbing thf with prism powders. Problems arose beginning looking for the passwords. For all of them I either couldn't cleanly open the door without drawing aggro, or for the statues, was unable to check without drawing aggro (except for the first one).
At this point I decided that this would not be the best plan, as by the time I got there, the passwords would likely be changed anyway. So I decided to just spam in random passwords once I got to the Brass Statue (hehe, I'm surprised that I didn't consider this a really poor idea at the time considering that I'm a math major, and there are a ton of possible combinations...) The next issue arises at the four lever door. The two Yags on the OUTSIDE of the door con as Tough and Even. Luckily, right as I was about to go, a 70ish thf comes and kills them. I now have hope! So I fiddle with the levers and get the door open. My luck kicks in again, as neither yag inside the door are facing my direction and are relatively far away, giving me a chance to throw tonko up.
I now continue on my way to the final door where I have to light a torch. It sounds terribly simple in the description, but all four torches are surrounded by Yags that would con T+ at 60. So at this point, I decide I'm going to give it a shot, if I succeed I succeed, and if I don't I'm calling it a night. I get right near a torch (invisible of course) and wait for the two yags to turn their back. They do so after about 4 minutes of waiting. I now go through the rather tricky sequence of dropping invis, lighting the torch, hitting flee, reinvising, and sprinting for the door, without drawing aggro. I again get very lucky as the birds don't move as I'm doing this. I make it through the door.
Thankfully, there are no birds in this room. Now I need to figure out the passwords. I got the first one correct on the second try, and the second one right on the fifth try. I had to go through every single one listed in the top post in the thread to get the third one before reading the quest description and trying Xicu, which it turned out to be.
At this point, it's a waiting game. You have to wait for the high priest to move far enough away from the crest area so he doesn't aggro before you drop invis. I was willing to die to get this done, so I was relatively careless with regard to the other ones. But once again, through a tremendous stroke of luck, I got the crest and got tonko up without being aggrod. Unfortunately, a RNG I had met on the way there wasn't so fortunate (I'm sorry Elenne /cry). As another poster said, it's really a Warp or bloodport situation here. There is another way out I believe, but I doubt that the high priest strays far enough from it often enough to make it really viable.
Honestly, the Oztroja part is a really difficult solo. I would not try it solo again if I was given the choice. Finding a very high lvl that might not draw aggro when opening the doors and lighting the torches would be ideal. Also, checking the passwords is well worth the time I think. Good luck to you!
Just wanted to extend my thanks to whomever wrote this walkthrough. It's very informative and i was able to solo it completely as a redmage. There's enough thieves going in and out of oztroja to open the doors without much hassle, plus the password only took 10minutes of guessing to figure out, once the day changed. Was able to invis, walk right up, get the crest and warp out without a scratch. Thanks much!
