SummaryYou've received a letter from the dark knight, Zeid. He says he has a new trial for you and Chaosbringer. DescriptionAfter completing the Blade of Darkness, head to J-7 and talk to Gumbah again. He'll give you a letter from Zeid, telling you that you can complete the Chaosbringer sword. Use the sword to deal killing blows to another 100 mobs, bringing your total kills with the weapon to 200. Then, head to J-7 on the first map of Gusgen Mines and trade the greatsword to the ??? at the small pond. Afer a cutscene with Zeid, you will receive your new Deathbringer. Do you have to do the killing all in one session like it was for the first quest?
i believe you need to get the quest from gumbah first, but i'm not sure.
what i did:
1. Got Chaos
2. Killed 100 went to Beadeaux to get DRK
3. Went back to gumbah to get Blade of Death quest
4. Killed 100 went to Gusgen and got Deathbringer.

I think you may need 200 additional kills, not just 100, either that or I was way off on my count. Trade the sword to the ??? , Zeid shows up and trades you the Deathbringer, a level 5 DRK only great sword. It has +8 to attack, -6 to def, and I believe 20 damage. Pretty good for a level 5 weapon. Still too slow though.
Are you sure the original 100 kills count? I just killed a little over 100 with the sword after completing the DRK flag quest and when I trade the sword to the ??? at J-7 it just says, "Nothing seems to be happening."

The title received for this quest is "Black Death"
The pond is the same pond where u have to fight Blind Moby for the Bastok Mission, "To the forsaken mines"

ok i i got the 200 killz with this sucky sword then what what do i get

To be able to trade the sword at the Gusgen pond, you will need to have 200 kills on it, meaning the original drk quest 100, plus another 100.
If you threw yours away (as I did), you will need to get it back by taking boat, and getting the 200 kills from scratch... :p

Even if you *havent* thrown the sword away, you *will* receive a new one every time you get on that boat. Since it's marked "rare", you can only have one... Not sure if this will ***** up the kill counter on it.

I have about 300 kills with it, but before getting the letter from Gumbah. Do I have to go back and kill another 100 now or can I just go straight to Gusgen?
I am not positive, for I haven't tested it yet. But I abelieve you don't need to, cause you need 200 total kills on it and to read the letter. Since you can't get the sword without accepting DRK job, the initial 100 are a no brainer as to whether it will work. Due to the starting all over factoid, it would make sense that you should be good. Keep in Mind that enemies killed using a WS with the Weapon DO NOT COUNT. A very common misconception that may lower that 300 down a good 50-100.

when do you even get the sword
you get Chaosbringer (The ultimate sword of crap) when you speak with Zeid at Palb mines for Dark Knight quest
Couple points:
1) You can get this quest with any job at any lvl after you've already gotten the Dark Knight job unlocked. I talked to Gumbah as a lvl 12 Dragoon, got the letter.
2) Zeid's letter talks about bathing the chaosbringer and making it better. Talks about the lost mines. This means you have to trade the sword to one of the pools in Gusgen Mines. I believe it's I-8 or L-8..
3) If you lost the chaosbringer, go back to Palb Mines and take the boat again. Zeid even mentions it in his letter.
I don't have stats for the new sword, havent' done this yet.

no but seriously i heard somewhere that you can get the sword again by taking the boat again from floor 3 of palborough. not sure if you need to talk to Gumbah again first to get a cutscene or anything, and I havent done it myself so its only a rumor, but at least its a startign point.

in Zeid's letter he even tells you you can get the sword back by taking the boat in palb mines
