Got mine solo in about 25-30 minutes tonight. PLD58/THF25. Just wanted an easy 55k.
Now I feel kinda bad for people who actually need to use the scroll.

In-Game TextDescriptionRauteinot asks you to bring him a slab of Elshimo marble (Rare/Ex). This is a rare drop off of Ivory Lizards found throughout Yuhtunga Jungle. Trade the Elshimo marble to him and he will give you a key item called Rauteinot's parcel. Bring Rauteinot's parcel to Mulaujeant in front of the Blacksmith's Guild in Northern San d'Oria. Wait several hours (earth time) and Mulaujeant will give you a key item called Sublime statue of the Goddess to give to Rauteinot. Return to Rauteinot in Kazham and you will receive your reward, a scroll of Teleport-Yhoat. The following real life day after midnight Japan time (11am Eastern / 8am Pacific) is when your teleport scroll reward will be ready for you by the NPC. wow did i have trouble tonight! i asked a lvl 66 thf/nin to help me (39whm/blm) out with the drop and he agreed! i was as giddy as a schoolgirl. well 3 hours later and no drop, you can say my attitude was a little different >< but we are going to strike out tomorrow to get the drop and hopefully it'll change things. during that time i got 4 stacks of lizzy tails, 2 stacks of eggs, and lvled my club from 70 to 88. it wasn't a total loss but i didn't get what i came for.

After reading these stories about how long it took some people, you'll probably all want to kill me. I had about an hour to kill before I had to log off last night, so decided to head on over to the jungle and try to get the marble. I headed straight out of the zone, took the first left and curved around to the drop. Fell down the hole. There were two lizzies right there, but they were on top of each other, and I wasn't sure how much trouble they'd be since I had never fought an Ivory Lizard before, so I went further south as if going to Yhoator and found an isolated one in the tunnel. The fight took all of about ten seconds. And it dropped the Elshimo Marble.
For those keeping track, it was 10:31 when the fight ended, Darksday, Waning Moon, 40%. I was alone, 50NIN/25WAR. No Treasure Hunter. Only weird thing was that I had just been in a PT hunting G1 drops, and was still listed as a PT leader, though I was the only one left in the PT. I just left it that way so that I wouldn't have to go /anon yet it would appear I was already in a PT.

i took my friend Balerion lvl45 THF with me lvl45 WHM.
And we got it at first Ivory lizard. Many ppl do not know, that the THF has to defeat the enemy for TH2 to work. There was no special weather.
But i think we got very lucky ^^

It has been said by many THF that this is untrue. I think a GM even verified that it is not true.
Its verrified. SE already sed in an interview thf last hit has no bearing on drope rate. Drop rate is affected by number of Players in party and number of TH's and THII's also in party.
If u want to get a nice drop plz pack in as many THF as possible with treasure hunter. TH does and will stack.

I got mine on 3rd lizard
I spent about 5 hours yesterday and another 5 or so today doing this by myself (50drg/25thf). I got the drop this morning but I had 3 lizards linked and I didn't see the drop, and so it sat in the treasure pool... and so I rested to get HP back and when it got discarded from the pool and announced such, I nearly fell on my lance. This evening for a short while I had a 40whm/thf with me for a few lizards, and tonight a 50pld/war joined me for awhile.
Finally my Paladin friend had to go get some sleep. I figured I'd stay for another hour and try again tomorrow. First lizzie after he goes drops the marble. I hit the roof! Seriously, I thought getting Paper was tough. All in all, I'd say it was about 10 hours spent in the jungles and roughly 400-500 lizards killed. You people who get it within the first 10 drops make me sick with envy. ^.^
Moral of the story. Keep an eye on your treasure pool, and expect to spend a good deal of time working on this. Its probably better use of time to farm for the gil and just buy it. I like doing the quests though. Have fun!!

Ok, in a group that contained a 48WHM/22BLM, 50RDM/10NIN, 43MNK/21THF we got three drops in about 2 1/2 hours. We camped over and Gemini Falls so we didn't have to worry about anything other than the lizards.
The only thing I'm waiting on now is the statue so I can return and wait on the spell.

I killed lizards (20 total maybe) today to get my drop. I went as 60SAM/30WAR. Now, I'm waiting for Mulaujeant to dish me out the statue so I can go get my Scroll. I found lots of lizards in the northeast of the Yuhtunga Jungle by Gemini Falls. Good luck to everyone that gives this a go.
I went as 60rng/25thf, took me about 2 and a half hours total. basically killed over 100 lizzys then ran out of arrows,had to kill one with my severely underleveled axe. took like 5 minutes to kill but it dropped when it was over.

needless to say i feel for all you people that had a hard time doing this quest one day i spent 30min killing lizzards i said ***** this. well last night a good frind of mine wanted me to come out and help her get im like what the hell i aint got nothing to do well we killed for like 10min nothing i got disconnect in a fight (stupid fingers exited full screen) well i cam back in and she had 2 on her so not thinking i killed on and well be it dumb luck i got the marble. so jsut keep trying i did it whith 54rng/25thf btw she got mad at me and didnt talk to me for a while

We had a pt of 5- DRK/WAR (me), 50 THF/NIN, and a WHM somewhere between 40 and 50, don't remember what. We must have spent 2-3 hrs killing lizzies. About halfway through, we got a drop, lotted, and I won the lot (woot!). The rest of the time, not one drop -.- we eventually had to go to sleep, so I was the only one tht got it.
Iv gotten this 3 times.
The first time, it was for a LS friend. Took about 30 min total.
The second time, it was for another LS friend. Got it on 1st kill.
The third time, it was for myself. I killed them for 1hr and nothing. I leave and come back later that week and got it on 1st kill.

This is the Worst quest (I have high fame in all nations) I've done so far, besides trying to get Mary's Milk (and that is hard only because of Greedy A$$#o!e Gil Farmers). This drop is way too rare for being an otherwise simple quest.
I just finally got the drop after I spent about 6 hours in all running around finding Ivory Lizards. I'm sure I killed well over 300 Lizzy's before I got it. I started out solo (50RDM/24BLM) and was able to kill 6-8 Lizzy's before having to rest (around 100 kills); a HUGE amount of MP expended. An LS friend (55PLD/27RNG) joined me after I was at it for about 4 hours. He used "wide scan" to locate Lizzy's and we ran around the jungle for a couple of more hours before killing an Ivory Lizard who dropped the slab (at least 200 kills). I didn't look to see the actual location, but it was in the tunnel to Yhoater Jungle that we got the drop.
Noting that some people have been lucky to get the drop quickly, be prepared to spend a LOT of time on this quest. Also make sure you can make quick kills to shorten how long you are at it. I also do not recommend doing a party where others need to complete this quest because of how rare the drop is.

People that farm gil are not "greedy", they are earning gil the way it was intended. It's people that SELL gil online and other people that BUY gil online that cause problems. Get your terms straight. Gil Seller is not the same as Gil Farmer.

I took several trips to Yuhtunga Jungle to get this drop, and killed plenty of lizards. I went mostly solo, but on 2 occassion, I had a companion.
The day of the drop, I had a lvl 50 WHM who subbed theif for TH2 helping me. I was already there for at least a half an hour soloing the lizards. The first lizard we fight together dropped the Marble. It was around 21:00 on Light Day. I am unsure on the moons phase. It was not riaing.....there was no specific weather condition up.
I have to back tomorrow and help that same WHM that helped me for another drop. Hopefully luck will be on our side.
Now I just have to go to Sandy to take parcel....then later back to Kazham. I'm not gonna like the waiting.

After countless kills I finally got this item (Elshimo marble).
Just an as FYI:
- It never rained.
- I was getting almost no items until Earth day started.
- Got the item on Earthday, First Quarter Moon (40%)

I'm bloody sick of this one. One drop in over 250 kills, in four different sittings, but with Treasure Hunter each time. Party was DRK/THF47, PLD55 and me, WHM52. I....hate....lizards....

Lost count of how many we killed. Party was a 50 Thief and a 50 Whitemage. We killed probably hundreds of lizards over the span of a few hours each day for about 3 or 4 days. We finally got the drop and were just so shocked to actually see that the slab does in fact come from the ivory lizards.
There was nothing really special about the conditions. It was lightning's day, moon phase was ~24% waxing and there were no special weather effects at the time. We got the drop off of a lizard that was in the cave located in the first hole you drop down when coming from Kazham.
Glad that ordeal is over, and those that got it in a few kills really should feel lucky! At least the lizards skins and eggs really added up in the end!
