Description

Rauteinot asks you to bring him a slab of Elshimo marble (Rare/Ex). This is a rare drop off of Ivory Lizards found throughout Yuhtunga Jungle. Trade the Elshimo marble to him and he will give you a key item called Rauteinot's parcel.

Bring Rauteinot's parcel to Mulaujeant in front of the Blacksmith's Guild in Northern San d'Oria. Wait several hours (earth time) and Mulaujeant will give you a key item called Sublime statue of the Goddess to give to Rauteinot. Return to Rauteinot in Kazham and you will receive your reward, a scroll of Teleport-Yhoat.

The following real life day after midnight Japan time (11am Eastern / 8am Pacific) is when your teleport scroll reward will be ready for you by the NPC.

The Yhoat Telepoint is in Yhoator Jungle at F-9.

I don't know how, maybe it was a fluke somehow, but i was out in Yuhtunga, soloing on my Dancer, and killed a Lizzy. Off that lizzy dropped a Marble Slab. I fell over and died... It was so weird, cuz i knew what it was for but didnt think i would get it right then lol
fast, but yet... Slow

I went out there on my SMN72 and brought a ls member along. He wanted to make some gil off of this quest, so he tagged along. We worked our way to Gemini Falls. Once we go there, we took a minute to look at the view and then continued to work our way through the lizzys once again. Killed about 3 more after we got here and got the drop. We lot on it, he gets it. I'm fine with this. He came along and helped attack lizzies, even gave me refresh. I think he's level 41~ RDM. My only gripe is that I've been killing every Lizzy I see now and It's taking FOREVERRRR to get this 2nd drop. :) I won't stop until I get it though. I'm determined. I only wish I had THF leveled up for Treasure Hunter.
Slow carving San D'orian...

Well I finally got the last of the 6 teles... This quest is kind of a pain but only in as far as having the patience to grind the lizards until you get the mabrle drop. The Elvaan in San D'Oria (Mulaujeant) took at least a day (real time) to carve the statue for Rauteinot, but that may be because it was just after japanese midnight when I originally traded it to him. All and all not too hard... Just takes awhile.

Just got my Marble drop as a 59WHM/15THF. It took me 6hours of farming Lizards to get the drop, I did most of the grind around Gemini Falls area in Yuhtunga Jungle.

How to get here - http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?fitem=2583;page=1;howmany=50#m1148654344967

Choco out from Kazham to the clearing at H-6, drop into the hole and go through the tunnel to I-7. Head down into the little valley where the Overgrown Rose hangs out (it will aggro to a lvl 60 btw), and enter the tunnel in the tree roots that goes directly east. This will bring you out at J-7, with a clear view of the falls. Lots of ivory lizards and a few coeurls hanging around. That's the spot I used.

The mobs were easy for me to take, kept stoneskin and haste up, threw a Dia II and just whacked at them till they dropped. Resting about every 3-5 mobs... Takes a while xD

Good luck to those of you currently doing this!

From Kazham, go left, jump in hole, once you exit tunnel go to bottom of large pit area and take path (far end, semi-hidden by roots) going east and you'll come out on upper area of Gimini Falls. Lots of ivory lizzards in tunnel and near falls.

Kazham fame is tied to Windy fame.

Try doing the Cornette quest in Windy or some quests around Kazham itself.

I just wanted to add that this also drops off of White Lizards in Yhoator Jungle, and with a better drop rate in my opinion. I've leveled WHM on 2 characters and gotten the drop pretty easily near Ifrit's Cauldron
The Falls are the key... I think.
# Apr 01 2007 at 7:51 PM Rating: Decent
Ok here is what i did to get this quest done. Had two people in my linkshell join me i was lvl 40 whm/blm, had lvl 47 Rdm/Blm, and a lvl 70 Rdm/Whm. The high lvl Rdm went near Gemini Falls and started killing lizards. First one dropped it. But, we needed two of them. All together he killed 16 lizards near the falls and got two slabs. The lvl 47 Rdm/Blm had tried killing them in Yhoator Jungle and all over Yuhtunga Jungle except near the falls. So I think the lizards near the falls drop this alot more often then anywhere. Hope this helps anyone who needs it. Good luck.

I'm somewhere around 178 too. Been farming for 2 hours a day as 47-52 rdm, and no luck. Break out npc-nothing. This quest makes me want to kill stuff that much more.

Ok.

I turned in the Marble Tuesday about 10am (EST)

It is now Thursday 11:45 (EST) and he still won't give me the statue ... I've warped away from him more times than I can count (Out of sandy) and I've just regularly zoned out of Sandy.

Any Ideas?
"wait several hours..."
# Feb 09 2007 at 10:07 AM Rating: Decent
I just want to let everyone know that this quest is slightly different from how it is explained above so they don't get frustrated like I did.

The description above says to wait several real life hours after giving the marble to the guy in San d'Oria, then he will give you a statue and then you go to Kazham and trade the statue to the monk there who will give you the scroll after 8 AM PST.

This is somewhat incorrect as I found out, trying to get my statue every couple hours and thinking I was missing something. Each time I tried he would say "Patience. Patience." ...etc. I would zone and try again and he would say the same thing. I did this every couple hours all day long. He finally gave me the statue after 8 AM PST had passed.

--- THIS is where the day has to roll over in real life NOT at Kazham ---

Once you get the statue you then go to Kazham, get a cut scene when you speak to the monk there and he IMMEDIATELY gives you the Tele-Yhoat scroll.

Happy hunting, this is an easy quest!

I spent about 45 mins in the wrong jungle killing White Lizards before I realized it was supposed to be Ivory Lizards in Yuhtunga. I switched to the right zone, went to Gemini Falls (I think this spot is good mainly because there are a ton of lizards there unlike the other areas of this zone) and got my piece of marble in under 10 kills.

Just wanted to confirm for everyone doing this quest that this is accurate. You will receive the scroll immediately. It's the NPC in san'doria that requires you to wait until after JP midnight to proceed.

Got my drop from the 1st Lizzy :P 75RNG/31THF
Must have done something wrong...

I wanted to go ahead and get this scroll and have it before I leveled my WHM up to 38, so my LS 75 DRK and 60 SMN friends joined me in mass destruction of lizards. So we clear out the Ivory Lizards for a couple HOURS before the DRK has to go. Then my 55 NIN friend comes to help us. Again, several HOURS later and I'm finally so tired of hunting lizards I tell them to forget it, we'll do it later or I'll tele-taxi for the money. They agree, the SMN heads out, and I start the run back to Kazham. Stop by the gate to say hi to my LS friend who happens to be partying his MNK at the time when the NIN says he's going to 2 hr and log. He 2 hrs, kills the lizard...

And the blasted thing drops! I lot it (for an amazing 8!) and run to trade it to the guy. 7 HOURS of killing lizards. I'm pretty done with Kazham now. :) Didn't think to check the moon phase. :( This quest has so far been the most annoying Tele Quest I've done.
