My Quest for purple belt started kinda yesterday
had Ramp. ram horn from camping for gil so i decided to go and look for Lumbering Lambert and sure enough got em.
ok Dodo I got in 56Min Sam/rng he spawned complete topright corner of Edge ...soooooo i head to Nue
2hr after killing PH(alone) pops, 0/1
i leave head to jeuno....grieve...head to Morberger(sp?) 35min after i grab(/war)1/1
Head to Nue with Thf friend (met @ morberger) sooo we get tehre after like 8 or so Ph's (5min respawns) Nue pops we claim bam 1/2
11Hr, 3 NM's later i got mah Brown belt
So /rng Dodo.... /rng Nue(thf or war might be metter i was messing around with sidewinder)..... /war for Morbergler

Deadly Dodo sometimes spawns on behalf of Tabar Beaks when Tabar Beaks are killed around from J6 to K7. Deadly Dodo uses wicked ray, so it is dangerous to kill it alone.
Nue sometimes spawns on behalf of Tundra Tigers when Tundra Tigers are killed around F7 near the tower.
Morbolger spawns at the hall H10 in the furthest area of Ordelle's Caves. Morbolger spawns every 21-24 hours (real time). Watch out for bad smell. Give these items to Vola.

Just killed morbloger 18/2/06 so 21-24 hours from then RL time not game time as stated in the above walk through. i don't need this as yet, my mnk at 18, but by the time i get round to killing the other 2 i prolly will.
5 others camping him, he popped in s/w corner of the square room.

After 10 hours of camping, 20 someodd chymes (and a shikaree ring), 12 wind clusters, Morbolger died by my hand at 7:03PM EST Jan 3rd 06, come 3 hours early if you want to get this mob. Best help I can give is once the time starts ticking down keep focused, there are a lot of other campers here, mostly J ones that just stand around until the mob shows up.

Marbogler dropped on Sylph Nov 15 @ 9:30 pm est.
Got a hot tip on a ToD on the Sylph server from a LS comrade. I headed over to the caves about an hour and a half before the previous day's ToD.
I was a 38MNK/WAR and my friend was a 55RDM/NIN. Morbolger spawned within like 25 minutes after we arrived, I got the claim and my friend led the attack. It was an intense wait though since there was another Monk their in his AF set with a Purple Belt. It's a tough quest... but at least the prize is worth it.
Here's my gift to all those Monks on Sylph.

1. Morlbolger spawns 21-24 hours REAL time. A goddamn pisser if ever I did say so for a lvl 40 item.
2. It is NOT a lottery pop, it pops on its own whether or not you have killed stropers.
3. You have to have done the purple belt quest first to even get this. (Which is so much easier than this it's like not even funny.)

1/1 Nue (i logged in at Beaucidine and there was a 73 DRG there. He said he had been camping for 2 hours and he was leaving. 2 minutes after he left Nue spawned and dropped :P )

O yea and a hint for nue. Sometimes a statue spawns in place of one of the tigers so kill statues also (ive noticed that either 1 tiger and 2 statues pop, or 2 tigers and 1 statue) Not sure if that will help out with lottery time but might as well eh?
Also, The Stroper is not a PH for Molborger dont listen to anyone. He spawned for me same time as Stroper and caused me to miss first claim =)
Other than that good luck everyone and if your on Garuda /c Glorien <Brown Belt> <found it!>

Can anyone clarify the spawn time? I see 21-24 hours other places. And on the top of the page here it says 21-24 GAME hours. I've been camping him and killing PH for 3 game days and nothing yet. How do you go about getting the TOD if you're afk?

To get the Quest you must complete the Purple Belt Quest in bastok, you dont have to give Your purple belt to anyone, they all talk about you behind your back, so the Quest giver NpC already knows you when you get there. Im about to embark on this bad boy and I hope I have enough patience. When I do get the Brown belt imma have to change servers, on Ragnarok it hasnt hit 2 mil like yall are sayin' ><
I have been playing FFXI for about 15 months. I felt this to be the most difficult task thus far in the game. I camped it on and off for a couple of months. I helped a friend of mine out with the Purple Belt quest, which allowed him to get his Brown Belt. He was leveling DRG, so he let me borrow it. I figured I would just camp it when I was a higher level. I had only seen Morbolger pop once and I missed the claim. I was so depressed at the time.
Well, I finally did the impossible got Morbolger a couple of weeks ago. Another Monk friend of mine and I were trading off ToD's. We weren't able to make any of the time slots. He got the ToD from another friend and got a claim. He gave me the next ToD and I got the claim in front of two others. The adrenalin rush was incredible; I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
My suggestion would be to camp it and get the ToD. Then share your ToD’s with your friends until you can get lucky enough to get the claim.

A friend told me about this quest, then I was very interested, coz I need to buy a Haubergeon, and the brown belt is about 2.5mil on my server (kujata)
(I'm sam 60)
quickly, I decided to get the dodo skin, witched Rng as subjob.
1. Dodo skin
I was spamming Wild scann when the dodo just spawned in front of my competitor, (lucker!) a whm ... he got the claim, I asked, no drops :D
I loged out, and came 50 mins later, this time there was a Mnk75, subbed 37war... (easy) 10/15mins later, I see the dodo on the scann, got the Claim, and the drop. 1/1
2. the Nue fang.
when I was just head to the pop zone, wild scan, and guess what, Nue! I turned around the tower, and saw someone finishing the nue nm... that's too bad... no panic, "logout and come back in 1h30"... typed /logout without paying attention to gobs around...
Aggro, ok np.. then link, link and link.. 4 gobs, tried to zone into the tower, but no way (I still wonder why)... so, I died and loose my lvl 60...
today, I came back, (back to 60too) camp it 20 mins with 2 ppl camping around (rng main/sub too) ..
I saw the nue, started to run, got the claim, got the drop... 1/1
3. Malbolboroboel vine (cant spell, sorry)
today, tried to head to the spawn point, after 30 mins I'm in in. 5 campers... :/
I'm half afk, starting to eat somthing, phoning.. after 1.5hours, I'm re-concentrated, and begins to kill every Stropers who spawn... I see one, I run, I kill it, and when I turn back to go back to my position, I see IT (just next my wainting position) ! Omg I run as fast as I can, I see the names of others campers, /panic, Try to get my bow "too far away" omg... I run I run, the others char seems to be afk, but I heard steps behind, Try to get my bow one more time, too far omg, this guy Is big, the thf/war run and voke!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ..... That's so horrible!!! ><
ok.. so I have the ToD, I'll come back for you tomorow baby, but I still have 2 questions:
1. does this nm is a lottery pop from Stropers?
2. how can I activate the quest (fame? i'm fame 2 in jeuno) and the npc doesn't give the quest.

Hey I'm working to get this now at lvl 41 MNK and I was wondering if a 41MNK/15THF and 42MNK/21WAR could kill these NMs? Also if anyone wants to help on Remora server just send Pwulp a /tell :)

That's lucky. A Mnk on my LS ( no thf sub) had to kill Nue 3 times and Dodo 4-5times before they dropped. She hasn't went after Morbolger yet. Thankfully Morbolger IS a 100% from what I've read.

Brown belt is now 3million on gilgamesh. Most of the melee DD super items are booming now.
Do you just need to give the guy a purple belt, or do you have to actually finish the purple belt quest?
I was roaming around in Ordelle's Caves looking for a Treasure Chest when I went into Morbolger's room and found him unclaimed and no one around. I walked up to him and got aggro from him... I was like uh-oh.. I kept Stoneskin and Phalanx and had no trouble solo'ing it at 56RDM (even starting fight at 200mp and ~500hp). Got the vine and decided to get the rest. Went and camped Deadly dodo for a bit and got bored and temp log'd to POL. Came back and Deadly was staring me in the face. Get his drop then off the glacier! Camp Nue off and on for about 3-4days. I claimed him while he was standing next to a MNK and end up getting his drop. ^^

here is my story for quest for hauby (this quest included and more detailed)
First did all scroll quest and sold jutitsu gi so i practically quit 3 jobs (nin/whm/blm). now time for this quest ^^ ill start u off easily.
Deadly Dodo 1/2: Well camped wit 2 others for about 3 hrs from my ls 1 left and the one that remained was about lvl 30. It pops and guess wat a tabar beak is near it and aggros him. Unfortunately being the person i am i tryed to take them both so voked tabar beak but unfortunately died. Got choco ran back saw a drg killin it and asked if i could join. It didnt drop so i left the pt. Next time like 5 ppl r helpin me camp from ls and whm/thf to which it pops and drops ^^
Morbolger 1/1: Well it took me about 4 days+ because first day didnt kno the ToD so i camped all day got 2 shikaree rings tho ^^. Afta gettin ToD i didnt get camp 2 times. 3rd time me and a friend camped together to which it dropped (100% drop rate) but i have bad luck and get low lot. Then I camp again wit a friend to which he paid me if i gave him the drop (he needed to start black belt) so i did then 2 days afta that it was me and 2 others the mnk was helpin a high lvl whm wit a link XD and the other idk so i got claim and drop.
Nue 1/11: The pain lol. Well not as camped. First time i got there it dropped but i didnt get claim so who the fug cares. Then camped all that day and the next day no drop. I see a thf campin and ask if he wants to join me he said yes and in about 2-3 pops of nue it drops wtf i get low lot again ;; (i have a bad lot problem) but he felt bad for me cause ive been campin so long i doubt theres any1 nicer on this game. I have luck findin nice ppl. (was gunna go back and help but afta 3 nue pops that he was there for it drops wtf do i have that bad of luck) so i finish up purple belt quest and sell them both brown belt for 1.5mil (which is 100-500k less then jeuno ah tryin to help a bit)
So all that put together was 5mil unforunately the price rose (i am the most unlucky person ever) but i got it for 4.7mil from a friend (the one i camped morbolger wit that had the high lot) and now im happy even tho i was plannin on gettin a piece of my JSE. But updated my other equip like my crap bow and crap neck to better stuff. GL to all those doin this and if u need any tips give me a /tell at kyoshirosan. and thats the end of The Pain lol /bow

i camp Nue for 3 hours then some fat annoying kid that i had to Blist got the claim. asked for my help too.. what a noob. his name is Labrolond on Seraph if u guys just wanna blist little kids ahead of time
